Name Panic!

[name]Hi[/name] Nameberries!
I am in full blown panic mode and need input, suggestions, and most of all, honesty. Our latest addition is due at the end of February/begging of [name]March[/name] and it feels like we just aren’t getting anywhere with her name. I am having major guilt since we had her siblings names picked out by the time we found out what we were having. We would really like to stay away from the top 20 or 30 on the popularity list and chose a name that goes along well with her older sister and brother’s names, [name]Mikayla[/name] [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Riley[/name] [name]Lane[/name] (believe it or not they weren’t as popular when we chose them).

Our last name begins with P so we are also trying to stay away from first names that begin with P and be mindful of not only what the initials spell, but also what her monogram would spell. We all loved [name]Averie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name], but her monogram would have been APE which is just horrible!

The only thing we have been able to agree on is her middle name which will be [name]Eileen[/name] in honor of her great-grandmother.

Here is what we have so far…

[name]Evie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] (initially we considered [name]Evelyn[/name], but we can’t seem to get past the old lady image)
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] (alt spelling [name]Melodie[/name])
[name]Meredy[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] (alt spelling Meredie)
[name]Elodie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name]

My husband and I do like [name]Charlotte[/name], but we are very hesitant it seems to be so popular right now and is only showing signs of moving up on the charts.

Names we can’t use (already taken by family members): [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Chloe[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Janelle[/name], [name]Madison[/name], [name]Harley[/name], [name]Lyn[/name], [name]Lauren[/name], [name]Cassie[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Jennifer[/name], [name]Hayley[/name], [name]Holland[/name], [name]Morgan[/name], [name]Julia[/name], [name]Emily[/name], [name]Emma[/name], and [name]Elle[/name].

I love [name]Isla[/name], but my husband can’t stand it and honestly it does sound too much like the beginning of [name]Eileen[/name].

Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions you can offer…sorry for such a long-winded post.

[name]Kellie[/name] P

I love [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name]! I think it fits that bill between semi-familiar sounds but very uncommon. I love the alliteration here, I think it’s wonderful.

I like [name]Elodie Eileen[/name] from your list. Other suggestions starting with an E:

[name]Eva Eileen
Eve Eileen
Eloise Eileen
Ellery Eileen
Elise Eileen[/name]

[name]Evie[/name] is so lovely!!!
Another suggestion is [name]Emery[/name]…its like [name]Avery[/name] in sound, would give you different initials, and is much more unique

Yes, her initials would be A.E.P. but her monogram would be APE (first, last, middle). We tend to have a lot of things monogrammed in the family (luggage, blankets, bibs, etc…)

I like [name]Evie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] and [name]Melody[/name] [name]Eileen[/name], they are both great!

Yes, as soon as I posted this, I realized what you meant! Check out my previous post - I have some other E names listed, as well.

I love [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name]. I like the alliteration and it connects to your daughters name in a sense- both their first name and middle name starts with the same letter. [name]Elodie[/name] is a beautiful name- your daughter will not be disappointed!

I like [name]Charlotte[/name] a lot. Sure it’s somewhat popular, but as long as it’s not in the top five, which [name]Charlotte[/name] is not, remember that popularity is not a bad thing. It’s always recognized, never mispronouned, and looks formidable and confident on a resume. You’re not just naming your child for the next fve years, you’re naming them for a lifetime. [name]Charlotte[/name] is a name she’ll never have to explain, and take it from someone named [name]Andrea[/name], pronounced [name]Ondreea[/name], that constant corrections get extremely old around age 18 and when your bosses can’t even pronounce your name, you get lost in the crowd.

I love your name [name]Andrea[/name]! I think you and I come from opposites sides where you wish your name was more popular and I wish mine wasn’t. My name is [name]Kellie[/name] so I am fearful of an over-popular name for my baby…I was always one of at least three or four [name]Kelly[/name]'s in every class I was in, but I do see the appeal of [name]Charlotte[/name], I just don’t want her to get frustrated like I did.

Another vote for [name]Elodie[/name]!

What about [name]Everly[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] to get away from the APE monogram?

I like [name]Evie[/name] a lot too.
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Eileen[/name]
[name]Ever[/name] [name]Eileen[/name]
[name]Edina[/name] [name]Eileen[/name]
[name]Edie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name]

I think [name]Averie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] P____ works. [name]Just[/name] don’t get things monogrammed in that style…but of course, if you don’t think it works, if it bothers you maybe not.

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] doesn’t work but maybe using [name]Isla[/name] would be a sufficient way to honor [name]Eileen[/name]?

[name]Evie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] (initially we considered [name]Evelyn[/name], but we can’t seem to get past the old lady image) I think [name]Evie[/name] is really informal & childish but [name]Eve[/name] or [name]Eva[/name] would be great & mirror other daughter’s initials.
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] (alt spelling [name]Melodie[/name]) this is nice
[name]Meredy[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] (alt spelling Meredie) nms
[name]Elodie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] nms but fits with sib names really well

[name]Ever[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Everley[/name]

I vote [name]Evie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name].

I [name]ADORE[/name] [name]Everly[/name], hubby said it reminds him of [name]Beverly[/name] though. He is killing me with his name associations!

[name]Elodie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] gets my vote

I also love [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Eileen[/name] - [name]Elodie[/name] is a beautiful name and it will relate to your other daughter’s name in that they are both alliterations. I also second the suggestion of [name]Ever[/name], one of my favorites! And [name]Evie[/name] is adorable on a five year old, but I fear it would sound wrong on a fifty-year-old. Maybe go with [name]Eve[/name] or [name]Eva[/name] and the nickname [name]Evie[/name]?
Other suggestions:
E names - [name]Ebony[/name], [name]Eden[/name], [name]Embry[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Estella[/name]
Other 1st letters - [name]Coralie[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Ottilie[/name], [name]Verity[/name]
Good luck!
