Your choices are a bit too unusual for my taste, but [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] Faramir literally made me go “wow”! What a stunning combo.
I think [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] is definitely the most wearable of the first names and the most familiar. I really like [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] [name_m]Emrys[/name_m]. The soft sound of [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] balances out the first name.
My choice for each name would be:
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]
[name_m]Endymion[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]
Galahad [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_m]Valor[/name_m]
Apparently I really like names ending in o in the first middle name spot and I’m loving [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] in these combos too. That said, Galahad Elsinore [name_u]Frost[/name_u] is also stunning
I love [name_m]Valor[/name_m]! [name_m]Saint[/name_m] feels like too much for me, though. Too much to live up to for the kid. Overall my favorite would be Galahad I suppose. It’s hard for me to picture the names on a baby, but the imagery of Galahad is pleasing enough.
I haven’t got anything new to say about the names themselves, because every name you are considering is beautiful, but I did want to pop in my two cents regarding a name being “too difficult” for a child to live up to. I personally don’t think that word names have that issue. For example, I love the name [name_u]Legend[/name_u], not because I believe a child of mine would be a legendary human being, but because of the story that a legend is. A legend is a grand tale of imagination and history, something that life is. Life is a long journey, sometimes confusing and with muddied truths, but also with great adventure and things to remember. [name_m]Saint[/name_m] as a name doesn’t have to be in regards to the child, but in the journey of the child. Not many people are saints, but can we not all agree that those who are are people to be admired and looked up to? [name_m]Just[/name_m] like [name_m]Valor[/name_m] would be a reminder of how this boy has bravery in him even when he feels downtrodden, [name_m]Saint[/name_m] could be a reminder of faith in his good heart and the people who left beautiful marks on this world.
I’m not a saint fan, but I love [name_m]Valor[/name_m]. I wanted to add the suggestion of [name_m]Prosper[/name_m]. I’m surprising myself by really pushing for Galahad, it’s so incredibly endearing! I also love [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m], and the [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m] [name_u]Kit[/name_u] just screams playful adventurer to me, so I like that one too. Not loving [name_m]Endymion[/name_m], is it pronounced (indie-my-on) or (in-dim-me-in) or am I just totally off track :D?
Thank you so much, guys! You’re the best helpers a girl can wish for, and I’m so glad to see all the Galahad love.
Aww, this is so beautiful and touching! I can definitely see why [name_m]Saint[/name_m] isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I feel about it the way you do, and what’s even more important, my husband loves it! It’s not often that I see him so excited about a name.
I’m sticking with my original choice of [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]! I love the flow of this and I just feel t’s easier to picture a baby [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] over [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] or Galahad.
Your [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] combos are amazing! They’re all so handsome.
I especially like [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] and [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m] [name_u]Kit[/name_u]. They’re both so adventurous and cute.
I also really really like Galahad Elsinore [name_u]Frost[/name_u], its beautiful! I do love [name_m]Valor[/name_m] a lot though, so your other combo is just as nice.
[name_m]Endymion[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] Faramir is my favorite [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] combo. It’s incredibly handsome. I love love love Faramir and would love to see it actually used! I also love the imagery I get from [name_m]Endymion[/name_m].
I’m sorry, I realize that this comment is basically no help! Your options are all just incredible, and I love them all so much. I cant wait to see what you choose!! Good luck!
With [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] hermione winter, who has a beautiful and interesting name, I prefer [name_m]Endymion[/name_m], either in the atlas or the [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] combo.
I can’t really see Galahad on a little boy (or anyone at any age really) but I’d go with the horatio combo as it feels the most wearable.
What I really like about [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]’s name is how the names aren’t that uncommon or unfamiliar but the combination makes them feel magical. I’d do the same with a boy’s name (especially with a boy’s name, really. From experience boys don’t need or want to stand out as much as girls based on names or clothes or hairstyle, etc.) so I find [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] or Galahad Elsinore frost a bit too much, it sounds too much like a character in a Romance novel and too little like a modern little boy to me.
I don’t think it’s about the expectations you put on your child but how the world views the names and how it reacts to them.
And it also reflects back on you and shapes the way other parents and treachers view you.
You may say that all doesn’t matter if you only love the name enough but is a name really so important that you’re willing to live withh prejudice towards you and your kid your whole life?!
@opheliaflora, I most definitely agree. That’s why, although I love names like [name_u]Legend[/name_u] or [name_u]Hero[/name_u], I would never actually name my child that. Because you’re right - my perception of such names will not be the perception of others, and it would be selfish of me to name a child in order to prove something to myself rather than to achieve the goal of giving my kid a name that is both meaningful to me and reflective of the life that I hope for them, but also a name that won’t cause them any hardship. So, no, I’m not willing to live with prejudice for a lifetime just because I see [name_m]Saint[/name_m] differently as everyone else, but I do think we should remember how little middle names are used. [name_m]How[/name_m] many people even know [name_m]Barack[/name_m] [name_m]Obama[/name_m]'s middle name, the former U.S. president? Or the middle name of their doctor, teacher, or judge? [name_m]Saint[/name_m] in the middle spot is much less of a troublesome query than as a first name, as very few people will ever know it.
I love that we can have these civil conversation on here, that’s not always a given on the internet, so thanks for that!
I do think they’re more usable in the middle though it depends how/if the middle names are used. Personally I still wouldn’t put them there but then I do view them differently than others (more “my child is the best thing since sliced bread” than “I want to express my faith through these names”).
Thanks again, guys! I’m going to go through the comments once again and then show this thread to my husband, but it looks like we have a favorite already. I don’t think it will be long until he is here - I’m 38w2d, and I’ve been having this cramp-like pain that doesn’t really feel like BH. I guess I’m going to call my midwife just in case…
I really struggled to choose a favorite among the [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] options! I finally decided on [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m] [name_u]Kit[/name_u], but but really was a toss up for me between that and [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f].
For [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] I chose [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], it is so beyond perfect.
And for Galahad I picked Elsinore [name_u]Frost[/name_u]. So pure, I couldn’t resist this name.
