Name question?

What is your name and do you like it?

My name is [name]Nicole[/name] (yes - I was born smack dab in the middle of the 80s — lol) but I have ALWAYS loved my name. I have only ever known one other [name]Nicole[/name] in my life, despite the name’s popularity back then. And all the other [name]Nicole[/name]'s that I hear of or whose names I see written down spell their names with an “H”, which I think is weird because it looks like it would be pronounced “ni-CH- ole”. Lol also, my middle name is [name]Bethany[/name]. I have always loved my fn/mn combo! I think it flows well! :o)

[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. Yes, I love it. Well, I don’t know. I can’t imagine it being anything else, I’ve met less than a handful of [name]Alexandra[/name]'s and less with the middle name [name]Mae[/name]. I think it flows SO well and just sounds great. I used to think my middle name was really weird but I have grown to adore it. I had a boyfriend who would call me [name]Mae[/name]. I considered going by it since I loved how it sounded when he said it but I decided to just leave it as our thing. I was born to a teen mom and I feel fortunate to have the name I have, especially when I read about all these crazy names people are giving their children.

[name]Amanda[/name]- I used to hate it when I was a kid and one of several Amandas in class, but the older I get, the fewer I find. We’ve dispersed. Obviously I was born in the '80’s, and there are far worse top 10 names I could have been named.

[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Beth[/name], I love my name  It’s classic yet has a plethora of nicknames ranging from sweet to spunky and I know most people think [name]Beth[/name] is dated but I just find it so sweet and soft sounding (of course I may be a little bit bias ;). Plus I know how much thought and effort my parents put into choosing my name and it just makes me love it that much more

Mine is [name]Kara[/name] [name]Alexius[/name] and I was born in the mid-90”s. I really dislike my name, cause it not common but not rare. But my middle name is [name]Alexius[/name] and that”s uncommon and I like that. My mom said I was going to be [name]Kara[/name] [name]Nicole[/name] ,but, someone else named her daughter that like 2 weeks before when I was born. And I have not figured why my middle name [name]Alexius[/name] ”the joke is that my mom want a [name]Lexus[/name] as her car, so my middle is [name]Alexius[/name] (hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah, right) But really she said she saw it a book & like how the ended had ”us”. But the weird thing is that I dislike my first name because not weird ,but, I love my middle name cause it weird. Go figured.

*Also the weird thing is in the 1990’s there was 23,508 [name]Karas[/name] born. And I have not heard of a [name]Kara[/name] my age. The only [name]Kara[/name] I have ever heard of is [name]Kara[/name] DioGuardi and she is 39.

Thanks for the respnses, its great to here the stories about your name.

My name is [name]Michaela[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. My mum just got my fn from a baby book and my mn was my grandmothers mn. I love my name because where I come from the name is quite unusual I have never met another [name]Michaela[/name] before. I pronounce it Mi [name]KAI[/name] la instead of Mi [name]KAY[/name] la so that’s also different.

Mine is [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Ann[/name]. My parents chose it because they liked it. My dad once had a dog called [name]Penny[/name], which I sort of like, because it means he’d liked the name for a long time.

I love my name. I think [name]Penelope[/name] is lovely, and I have had lots of nicknames [name]Penny[/name], [name]Pen[/name], [name]Nell[/name], Nellup, and [name]Eppie[/name] (which is how I said [name]Penny[/name] as a baby).

[name]Penelope[/name] is from Greek mythology and I remember reading about her a lot as a kid. I ended up studying Classics and Archaeology (with a particular interest in the daily life of women), and now I am an author of novels for teenagers, and sometimes I wonder if my name is responsible for this love of myth and storytelling and ancient people.
