Name Regret

[name]Hi[/name] berries,

Quick question for you all… I am not pregnant yet, nor have I ever been but I do have names picked out for a boy and a girl. I’m pretty dead set on them and doodle them constantly. When people ask, I proudly announce that I’ve already chosen them.

The thing is… if I really stick to them, will I regret not even peeking into a baby name book after it’s all said and done? I know that no one can actually answer that for me, but I just wonder if there’s anyone out there that’s done just that and then regretted not going through your husband’s list or a longer version of your own?

Part of me doesn’t want to scroll through the names in case I find something else I love and have to choose between them (or multiple), but part of me knows how fun it might be. It’s all a part of being pregnant, right?

I totally understand even though I am not pregnant yet. It’s kind of like picking out a wedding dress. “I love it, but what else is out there!” I am set on my top girl name, but I still love to look. In fact, it has only solidified my initial choice. We are a bunch of name nerds here. I don’t see how you could resist the temptation! :slight_smile:

If you do run into a naming conundrum, that’s what the berries are for! :slight_smile:

What does it hurt to look? You don’t have to stress out and search for a name if you already have ones you love, but if you see something you like more then you can just adjust your list. You should definitely take your partner’s names into consideration though. After all, the child will be part theirs too :wink:
