As someone who had name regret immediately and still has it more than 2 years later, I would say, go with your gut! We were in a similar scenario when she was born and we couldn’t agree between our top names and went with a wildcard suggested by my mum. Whilst my daughter has an objectively lovely, easy to wear name, it has never felt like her in my heart. A name did come to me eventually that seemed to suit her much better that wasn’t on our list at all but was a family name. I wish I had backed myself and changed it at 6 weeks, 6 months or even 11 months when we very nearly did. I even revisited the idea very recently but had to accept that 2 years old is just too late to change it. I don’t know if I’ll ever feel at peace with it. It’s so hard to explain to others as no one is as invested as the mother. I have an older daughter too so I know how it feels when a name just makes your heart sing, as it should.
