Name Sailor?

What do you think of the name [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]? [name_f]My[/name_f] partner and I like the name and are really considering using it. We prefer the [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] spelling over the [name_u]Saylor[/name_u] spelling. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it will be spelled correctly most of the time? What do you think of when you think of a girl with the name [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]? Also wondering how common it is. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know anyone named [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]? Thank you!

Definitely prefer the Sailor spelling! Cute and spunky. I know one boy named Saylor (again, don’t like the spelling) but not girls. Cuter on a girl though, I think!
I also think the Sailor spelling is easier. I think most people would assume that’s how it’s spelt.

I really like the name [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]! I think people will spell it correctly because the word is spelled sailor. It feels very sweet, friendly, and spirited. I know one [name_u]Saylor[/name_u] (spelled with the Y), I think she’s about 4 or 5 years old now.

I agree that [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] > [name_u]Saylor[/name_u].

I like this name and initially think of it as a name for a girl.

If you love a name you should use it !

I love Sailor!! The ocean vibe, the adventuorus feel!! Like you, I prefer the spelling [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]

great name!!

i def prefer [name_u]Sailor[/name_u], she may get misspelled sometimes, but [name_u]Saylor[/name_u] might also get misspelled, and i think probably more since the word is sailor and not saylor

and i don’t live in the us but i think it’s pretty rare

I love it!!! I knew a [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] years ago (who I went to sailing camp with lol)

I generally like long, frilly, super feminine names for girls, but I really like [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] for a girl! It’s somehow cute but strong without being overly masculine. I mean, it would work on a boy, but it’s better for girls in my opinion. I much prefer the [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] spelling, I think it would be spelled correctly much more often than [name_u]Saylor[/name_u]. In the US I believe it’s pretty uncommon, I’ve never met one, but I have heard of a few. I think of someone who is adventurous and capable, but also kind of laid-back. It’s a lovely name!
