Hello Berries!!

I’m just feeling like creating this post right now, even though it’s late and I should be studying for my Chem test tomorrow morning. But that aside, I’ve got a question: How have you, your friends, or your created characters got your/their names? I love hearing stories about this stuff, but I’m generally too chicken to ask people how they got their name. But not here!!!

Summary

My name was always the frontrunner. As soon as my parents found out I was a girl, they found the name Caitlin and my dad decided that would be my name, right then and there. My mom kept an open mind, and strongly considered Chloe and Emily, but my dad thought it didn’t sound right. Eventually my dad won my mom completely over with the name Caitlin.
My middle name was always supposed to be Ann. It is an honor name on my dad’s side of the family. Almost every single female member of my family has the name Ann or Anna somewhere in their name. It is in honor of my great-grandmother Anna, who was a very amazing person.
That is how I got my name.

My most recent MC:

Summary

My most recent MC’s name is Esme Marie Thorton. For awhile, her name was supposed to be Nova Elizabeth, because I was (and still am) crushing hard on this combo. But then, sometime, it came to my brain that Nova didn’t sound like a very good name for a mature, caring, older sister. Esme was second on my list, so that’s what her first name became. She is actually very strongly based on a girl I know, from appearance to personality to abilities right down to ethnicity.
Her middle name, Marie, was also the runner-up. I thought it sounded better than Esme Elizabeth, so I switched Marie and Elizabeth on my list.
Her last name is very similar sounding to the girl I know, but I didn’t want them to be identical, so I switched out some letters. Thorton has the same vowel sounds as the other last name, which is very common. I also wanted a more unusual last name, so I picked this.
That is why I named her Esme Marie Thorton.

P.S: Her younger sister became Nova Alexandra.

[name_f]Tamar[/name_f] is a Cornish river - a place important to the character’s family. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], because they wanted balance, and because her mother’s an [name_f]English[/name_f] professor, so it’s a nod to [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_u]Alcott[/name_u].
