So we are having a girl, and dh and I haven’t been able to agree on anything. He shoots down everything I suggest! I’m so overwhelmed with baby books and websites, I feel like I keep seeing the same names over and over again!
I have two children from a previous marriage, both boys. [name]Orion[/name] and Caelum (pr. [name]Kay[/name]-lum), both of whom are named for constellations. [name]Baby[/name] sister’s name does not have to match up with theirs. I’ve tried to find an astrological themed name(thanks to nameberry help!), but the majority of them are just too out there. And I can’t get dh to be on board with the less weird ones. So those are out.
[name]Carina[/name] is the only constellation name that I would consider, and I’m lukewarm on it at best.
I also like [name]Aurora[/name] on paper, but saying it gets me a little tongue tied.
Our last name has also ruled out a lot of choices. Last name is Sharkey. So no names that start with “Sh/Ch”, or that end in “ee” sounds too rhyme-y.
My style tends to lean towards the more creative, but not too far out there. I’m not huge on nn’s, and I’m anti popular names.
Some names I like:
[name]Karissa[/name]
[name]Kadence[/name] nn [name]Kady[/name]
Kilynn
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Lark[/name]
[name]Amelie[/name]
[name]Jorie[/name]
[name]Shayna[/name]/[name]Shyla[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
Some names dh likes:
[name]Caitlin[/name]
[name]Claire[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]
[name]Julie[/name]
[name]Ali[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Summer[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]/[name]Emma[/name]
(dh could care less about a name’s rank in popularity)
We need to find some middle ground! Something unique, yet classic, but not overused. Please help…
