I have a little girl by the name [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and I am having a hard time naming her sister… I just can’t beat [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name]! My husband and I both like the name [name]Caelyn[/name] [name]Bertina[/name](My middle name) but the “lyn” part is kind of holding us up! the only difference in the name is the first two letters… Is the name different enough… or do you have better suggestions! I am tired of going through lists!
I think [name]Caelyn[/name] is too close, spelling-wise and too different style-wise. [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is quite vintage, early 20th century, and [name]Caelyn[/name] is definitely not. I don’t have a clue what to suggest, but a few names, that sound like they would those of a girl named [name]Evelyn[/name] are . . .
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Elinor[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Frances[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Helen[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]

[name]Lucille[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Marion[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Sylvia[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]
I think [name]Caelyn[/name] is too close. [name]Evelyn[/name] is a strong contender for our baby, so I’ll share our list with you.
[name]Amelie[/name] (my older daughters name)
[name]Lilia[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
Yes, [name]Caelyn[/name] is too close. other ideas that go well with sister’s name -
[name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Norah[/name] [name]Paige[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Jane[/name] ([name]Rosie[/name])
[name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name] [name]Joy[/name] ([name]Lilah[/name])
I love [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - what abeautiful name!
[name]How[/name] about [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] or if you use [name]Bertina[/name], [name]Claire[/name] [name]Bertina[/name]?
I think [name]Audrey[/name] goes beautifully with [name]Evelyn[/name]. You should choose an old-fashioned sounding name to match. I think [name]Caelyn[/name] sounds too modern. I also like the suggestions above of [name]Alice[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name].
No, don’t use another ends in lyn name!
Plus, [name]Evelyn[/name] is vintage and [name]Caelyn[/name] is too modern. It doesn’t even sound right with [name]Bertina[/name] in the middle.
Here are some names that you might like:
[name]Waverly[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Faye[/name]
[name]Freya[/name]
[name]Phaedra[/name]
[name]Leonie[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Patience[/name]
[name]Mary[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name] - [name]Kay[/name] is an old school nn that you might want to use
Or what about [name]Kayla[/name] instead of [name]Caelyn[/name]? It’s not as modern.
Good luck!
I agree with everyone else. The names are too close for sisters. Maybe if you change [name]Caelyn[/name] slightly? What about [name]Caitlin[/name] (or [name]Katelyn[/name])? The “t” makes a difference to my ear, though it still might be too close.
I like the suggestions of [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Katherine[/name], and [name]Vivian[/name] (though I’d spell it [name]Vivienne[/name]). Other names you might like:

[name]Audrey[/name] was the name I was settled on before we came across [name]Caelyn[/name]… and the hubby was on bored but after we found [name]Caelyn[/name] he was like… yeah I don’t really like [name]Audrey[/name]… Maybe I can talk him into it again…
I don’t care for [name]Caelyn[/name] paired up with a sister named [name]Evelyn[/name]. [name]Evelyn[/name], in my opinion sounds elegant and classic. It sounds intelligent and and substantial. [name]Caelyn[/name] on the other hand sounds made up and overly trendy.
I love [name]Evelyn[/name]! So gorgeous. I really dislike [name]Caelyn[/name]. It seems so modern/trendy in comparison. You have had some gorgeous suggestions. I like:
