I am expecting my first child in [name]August[/name] and I am trying to narrow down names. For a girl I like either [name]Madeline[/name] or [name]Sophie[/name]. I would like to honor my grandmother, who passed away in [name]November[/name], with the middle name for either [name]Madeline[/name] or [name]Sophie[/name]. Her name was [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]. She never went by [name]Daisy[/name] so I am reluctant to use it for my child. As for [name]Virginia[/name], she was always called [name]Ginnie[/name]. Any ideas on how to honor my grandmother? If it helps, the last name is one syllable.
What about
[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name] [name]Gina[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name] [name]Ginny[/name]
[name]Marguerite[/name] is a botanical french name for the word [name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Virginia[/name] means maiden so what about a name with that meaning
[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name] [name]Justine[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]Hope[/name] this helps
Wow, pp’s reply was amazing! So helpful! I have nothing to add other than the options you have are lovely. I like [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Virginia[/name].
The only thing I am afraid of is [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Virginia[/name] being too long. I think sound good together.
Thank you for the suggestions. They were helpful.
If I go with [name]Sophie[/name], I will most likely use [name]Virginia[/name].
I put way to much thought into this and part of me wants to just pick a combo that sounds good and not try to honor any family.
I don’t think [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Virginia[/name] is to long at all! Especially with a one syllable last name. It’s very pretty
Have you considered [name]Margaret[/name]? [name]Daisy[/name] is traditionally a nickname for [name]Margaret[/name], so that could be a creative way to honor her, along with the many other [name]Margaret[/name] variants like [name]Margo[/name], [name]May[/name], [name]Margarita[/name], etc. [name]Maisie[/name] rhymes with [name]Daisy[/name], if that strikes your fancy. I do like [name]Virginia[/name] a lot in the middle spot, though. [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Virginia[/name] is great.
