Edited for privacy
I like [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Jane[/name].
For your Russian… I know a few Russians. [name]Kirill[/name] (pronounced kind of like Kee-REEL, but with the r rolled), [name]Roman[/name] ([name]Ro[/name]-MAHN), and [name]Mischa[/name]. I personally like [name]Kirill[/name] but it’s apparently rare even for [name]Russia[/name] (so he says) and ridiculously hard to pronounce. [name]Roman[/name] doesn’t necessarily appear Russian. [name]Mischa[/name] is fairly common and most people know how to pronounce it, as well as being easy to recognise as Russian. However, it does have the drawback of sounding a bit feminine because of the “a” ending and the fact that many English speakers use [name]Mischa[/name] for girls. There’s also [name]Serge[/name], [name]Alexei[/name], [name]Mikhail[/name], [name]Nikolai[/name], [name]Dimitri[/name]…
As for this childhood sweetheart… A good, solid-but-simple name comes to mind as sort of a contrast to the Russian (sorry if this isn’t the effect you’re going for, it’s just what pops into my mind! :)) Something like [name]Joseph[/name] ([name]Joe[/name]) or [name]Keith[/name] or [name]Peter[/name].
Aha! Seriously condisdering [name]Kirill[/name], [name]Serge[/name] or [name]Nikolai[/name] now. I think there were a few Kirills in the Russian royal family back along and it seems quite Russian to me
As for the sweetheart guy, I am going for the contrasting effect I quite like [name]Peter[/name]- it fits the character I have in my head nicely.
Thank you
