Name talks with the bf

Randomly discussing names with the bf and these are the names we discussed. Out of them all we have liked [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and [name_f]Clover[/name_f] enough to be a possibility. He often dislikes any name that sounds too old, he likes names that sound very similar to words and anything connected to gaming is always good. It’s always good to have conversation about hypothetical names as it gives me and idea of what he likes and what he’d feel comfortable using.

Girls:
Mayflower- middle name only
[name_u]Fable[/name_u]
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]

Boys:
[name_m]Pilot[/name_m]-
[name_m]Brandon[/name_m] nn Random?
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
Tyriel
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Waldo[/name_m]/[name_m]Walden[/name_m]/[name_m]Winston[/name_m] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m]
[name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_u]Jan[/name_u]
[name_u]Linden[/name_u]
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonard[/name_m]/Wenard

I love all of these! I know a girl [name_u]Linden[/name_u], so that might not work for both genders, but you’ve got an excellent style. I don’t know about Wenard as a name.
I like all the girls’ names.

I love the name [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]…and with the nn [name_m]Link[/name_m]! [name_f]My[/name_f] bf is a gamer too and when we were pregnant with our first we considered [name_m]Raiden[/name_m] for a boy. Now that we’re pregnant again if its a boy he wants to use his gaming username as a middle which I think is a cool idea (it actually sounds like a name).
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] is cute for a girl too and I also like [name_u]Fable[/name_u] from your list.

Mayflower- Too patriotic… if you’re an American anyway.
[name_u]Fable[/name_u]-- [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite of the girls names.
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]-- I’d like this only for a middle.
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]-- I have a terrible association with [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. So I dislike it.

Boys:
[name_m]Pilot[/name_m]- I think this is really cool.
[name_m]Brandon[/name_m] nn Random?-- No to both of those.
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]-- Classic, can’t go wrong with [name_m]Isaac[/name_m].
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]-- [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Tristan[/name_u].
Tyriel-- Sounds made up.
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]-- Not a fan of this like some Berries are.
[name_m]Waldo[/name_m]/[name_m]Walden[/name_m]/[name_m]Winston[/name_m] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m]-- I dislike them all. The only W name I really like is [name_u]West[/name_u].
[name_m]George[/name_m]-- NMS.
[name_u]Jan[/name_u]-- No, I think of [name_u]Jan[/name_u] as a girl name.
[name_u]Linden[/name_u]-- I like [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] better. I love [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], actually.
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]-- Whoooooa, too much name for my taste.
[name_m]Leonard[/name_m]/Wenard-- [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] isn’t too bad.

Sorry if there was a lot of negativity! I think [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and [name_f]Clover[/name_f] are winners, personally.

[name_u]Fable[/name_u] and [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] are great! I’d nix [name_f]Clover[/name_f] (better for farm animals than humans).

No need to feel bad for negativity everyone has different styles, as for some replies to your thoughts (if you read them)

Mayflower- Neither us are from [name_u]America[/name_u], the Mayflower as well as the Speedwell are both tied with my home city’s heritage in [name_f]England[/name_f], we have a major theatre and park that are named after the Mayflower. Living in another country I thought it would be a great middle name.
The name Wenard is only really in there as a joke, it’s a nickname my brother goes by.
[name_u]Jan[/name_u] is my bf’s and his brothers first names- they both go by their middles. We don’t know if we would want to keep this tradition going- if anything this would be a middle name only.
I love the name [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] especially with the nickname [name_m]Link[/name_m], Tyriel (don’t quote me on the spelling) is a character in [name_f]Diablo[/name_f] 3, he is an angel. [name_u]Fable[/name_u] after the game, we also have some boardgames where this name also pops up a lot.
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] came from the cartoon series Adventure time, if only BMO was usable lol.
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] is actually from an older man I used to volunteer with a few years back, he was a great guy and he rocked his name, he went by Ig too.
[name_m]Waldo[/name_m]/[name_m]Walter[/name_m]/[name_m]Walden[/name_m] and [name_m]Winston[/name_m] are because we really like the nn’s [name_u]Win[/name_u] and [name_m]Wal[/name_m]/[name_u]Wally[/name_u].

Thanks for your opinions guys
@sellseashells- I need to look into video games a bit more for baby name inspiration, my mind is a blank right now but I know so great ones from the Final [name_f]Fantasy[/name_f] series

Nameberry - Welcome to the Nameberry Forums!
I found this thread that has a lot of names suggestions from video games. Some are too strange for my taste but just thought I’d share!

[name_m]Winthrop[/name_m] is on the list and [name_u]Win[/name_u] could be used as the nn.

I love the nn Linx for [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]. [name_m]Link[/name_m] is cute, too, but I prefer the [name_m]Linc[/name_m] spelling.

I like [name_m]Linus[/name_m] with the nn Linx, too!

Awesome guys, thanks for the link to the thread sellseashells. Only managed to take a quick glance and am already liking [name_f]Kitana[/name_f] nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_f]Aviana[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. I’ll have a closer look when I am less busy.
[name_m]Winthrop[/name_m] is interesting, I’ve never heard it before but I like it. Unfortunately [name_m]Linus[/name_m] doesn’t sound good with either of our surnames.
