The first student is a boy who was an alliterative name. He and Mr. Knowles often have dad joke offs at the end of the day. He loves athleisure clothes but they are always brightly colored and matching his Nikes.

The second student is a girl who is an avid reader and prefers to observe, rather than talk. She loves to do puzzles (any kind - word searches, sudoku, jigsaw) and have game nights with her large family. She is one of four and is a middle child. She is a jeans, t-shirt, and sneakers kind of girl.

The next student is Nina’s best friend, who prefers tennis to lacrosse, belonging to the school team. She’s a quietly confident person who - while never the most outgoing - is supportive towards others and encouraging, even if she can seem a bit distant around people she’s not too familiar with. Mr. Knowles is very understanding of his circumstances as he lost a parent himself, so he always invites this student to come talk whenever he feels.

The eighth student is the latest addition to the class. She’s Malyasian and moved after her mother applied for a teaching position at a nearby university, coming from a warm, tight-knit family. She’s only just started coming out of her shell - with some gentle encouragement from Mr. Knowles - and has proven to have a strong imagination, loving to write stories which her friends always clamor to hear.

He sometimes comes off as insensitive due to being very direct in saying extactly what he thinks. However, his classmates are very understanding towards him and some admire him for the extensive knowledge he has regarding the human body and biology. The next student is a consumate girly-girl and wears this as a badge of honour. She’s absolutely devoted to animals and - in spite of surprising her classmates when she revealed it - wishes to become a vet. This is spurred on by the fact her grandparents own a farm she regularly helps out at - in her pink wellies - and at home with her dad, stepmum and two siblings (her 18 year old stepbrother and 15 year old full blood brother), she’s always found in the company of her two pet guinea pigs: Penny and Vera.

Mr. Knowles is understanding in spite of this though, encouraging her while ensuring she’s up to date with her studies. Her younger brother enjoys annoying her about this, but her friends are supportive of her dreams, as she’s talented and dedicated to improving as much as she can. In return, she believes strongly in encouraging others, and when she does speak up, it’s to boost someone else.
