The next student is on the water polo team with Caleb, and has nursed a years-long crush on Pomeline. He understood and supported her when she came out as pansexual/started dating her girlfriend, and thinks that friendship is better than nothing. Caleb helped him realize that, as did his older brother. He also feels connected to Lana, as he’s going through similar struggles. His older brother moved back home after his third year of college, to take care of him and his younger sister. They’ve been living with their mom, who is having substance abuse issues. This student sees sports, art, and music as his escape. He has done some of the artwork for High Velocity’s shows, incorporating the logo that Bee came up with. He’s talented in digital art, and sees himself having a career incorporating his skills.
He’s 5’9" with a muscular build. He tries to keep fit without becoming overly buff. He has a warm skin tone, hazel eyes, thick, wavy dark hair, and a mole on his left temple. He wears glasses for reading and art, and prefers bold frames in his favorite color - red. Ms. Navarre is generally impressed with this student’s willingness to accept help, and his grounded sense of self, which she attributes to his loving sibling and friends who have known him for his whole life.

The final student is determined to become an illustrator, with her drive being well-known by the teaching staff and supported wholeheartedly by Ms. N. Growing up, drawing was what she took solace in after her parents relationship almost broke down following a miscarriage - an event that shaped her into a very empathetic, understanding person who tries her best to never invalidate anyone’s feelings, no matter how ‘small’ in insighting incident may seem. She was adopted by her mom’s when she was 4 months old and is their eldest child, having a 9 year old sister. In spite of her being adopted and her sister conceived through IVF, she’s never felt any difference in how their mothers’ treat them - although she knows her mama in particular sometimes treats her like she’s made of glass, thanks to her birth parents being extremely neglectful and dismissive when she was briefly in their custody as a baby. She’s best friends with Aadab - whom she nicknamed " Ada " affectionately, and it stuck - and gets along with most people thanks to her kindness, although her especially cynical peers have been a little skeptical of her sweet nature. Hope is a prominent theme she incorporates into her work - inspired not just by the relief of seeing her parents manage to stay together in spite of their pain, but also thanks to her mom working as a physiotherapist who specialises in working with those who’ve either been born without or lost limbs, and shares stories with her daughters of witnessing people overcome the challenges they face. 5’7" and with a slender build, she has long, dark brown hair she prefers wearing loose - usually wearing a hairband or clips if she wants to pin it back - although she dyed her bangs electric blue recently, feeling it compliments her dark grey eyes. Her style is definitely y2k, taking especial inspiration from the cartoon Winx Club which she was obsessed with as a kid - still incorporating a lot of fairies into her work - and she’s very proud of her style, not even letting the braces on her upper teeth go without coordination with her outfits if possible.

The next class is 8th Grade Food Tech at Marston Middle School - the largest in St. James’s Marsh - and consists of 26 students. It’s taught by a man in his mid-thirties who worked as a chef before deciding to retrain as a teacher, and he’s never lost a passion for food: writing e-books which have been very successful. Adopted from Mumbai at the age of two, he grew up in a large, ethnically and culturally diverse household and is the second eldest of nine children - his parents having chosen to only adopt - with a love of incorporating ingredients and pieces of his siblings birth countries cuisine into his dishes, when he isn’t making them directly. His wife Jessamyn ’ Minnie ’ is from Dallas, Texas and co-runs a local, successful bakery with her best friend, who’s Godmother to the couples two children: six-year-old Kanan ’ Kit ’ Isaac and two-year-old Akshara ’ Asha ’ Nina - the elder of whom loves helping his parents with baking or making dinner, having clearly inherited the family love of cookery. He cycles to work every day and loves going hiking or swimming with Minnie on their date nights; joking about how it’s an exchange for trying so many dishes. Very tall at 6’5", he calls himself a beanpole and has wild, unruly jet coloured hair and soft, toffee coloured eyes - as well as a stud piercing on the left side of his nose and several tattoos, one of which is the date of his adoption. Usually he dresses for comfort above all else, picking comfy sweaters and jeans, which are traded for sweatpants and large tees when he’s at home or taking his kids on impromptu adventures - preferring warm turquoise and light blues above all other colours. As a teacher he’s known for being encouraging, welcoming and makes it clear that it isn’t about making anything extravagant but enjoying the process and learning more about food in general - be it the resourcing of ingredients or countries it originates from. He’s a close friend of Justice Fernsby who teaches at one of the local high schools too, and his affable, kindhearted nature means he tends to make friends for life - although since having kids his schedules managed to calm down a little from when his weeks would be jam-packed with meetups and parties.

Mr. [name_m]Nikhil[/name_m] “Nick” [name_u]Jay[/name_u] [name_u]Leland[/name_u]

The first student is inspired by all of the Food Network and other cooking shows that she watches. She follows celebrity chefs online, and her family has an extensive collection of cookbooks. She is already proficient in many of the recipes from her family’s cultures - she’s Mexican and Puerto Rican - and wants to branch out. Her favorite chefs are [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] [name_m]Sanchez[/name_m] and [name_m]Rick[/name_m] [name_m]Bayless[/name_m]. She has recently become interested in creating fusion dishes, wanting to incorporate her love of Korean and Vietnamese food into the cuisine she’s already familiar with.
She is 4’11, with reddish curls that she wears back in a french braid, broad features, and a light brown complexion. She has brown eyes, and wants to get a monroe piercing, but her parents will not let her. She dresses in 90s grunge style, favoring flannels in greys and reds. Besides cooking, she loves hanging out with friends, trading playlists, and creating content for TikTok. She has a little sister that’s 8, who was born prematurely, and she spends a lot of time trying to teach her skills. Three adjectives that describe her would be generous, dedicated, and warm.

Mr. Nikhil “Nick” Jay Leland

  1. Mireya Valentina Echevarria

The next student is well-traveled and speaks French fluently, having spent the first 4 years of his life in Lauterbrunnen where his father’s from. More than anything he’d love to spend more time in Switzerland, always loving holidays there and spending time with his extended family, as the natural beauty of the scenery and peace allows him to get out of his head more; as he’s struggled with OCD since he was 12 and finds long walks in quieter places help him navigate his thoughts. Cooking is the other main outlet he has for relaxation, loving to create pastries and cakes in particular, as he shares his mum’s sweet tooth: something that’s a little ironic to some, as she’s a dietitian. Like his younger brother Bastian, he has a dash of elegance to how he carries himself, something that’s very apparent in his sense of style and presentation: having soft, caramel brown hair that falls in half-curls and deep blue eyes which he accentuates in carefully coordinating the colours of his outfits, always wearing a silver ring which once belonged to his late grandfather. Swimming is his other favourite activity, something he bonded with his best friend over and they go on trips independently now, on the grounds they’re dropped off and picked up by a parent from either of their families. He adores the family dog, a German Shepherd named Marthe, and is always the first to volunteer walking her, as well as regularly slipping her treats when possible.

Summary

The next child is a boy whose father comes from the French-speaking part of Switzerland. He does not like local chocolate because he claims that the Swiss one is better. Some classmates see him as a snob and he doesn’t have that many friends other than Samuel and Timber. He is very elegant and enjoys horseback riding, as well as writes his own poetry. Recently he wrote a love poem for Agnes, who he has a crush on. He doesn’t plan showing it to her ever.

  1. Mireya Valentina Echevarria
  2. Lucien ’ Luca ’ Andrin Fischer

The third student was apprehensive about taking this class initially, being a noted mathlete and over acheiver who’s talented at biology and physics. She’s the eldest in the class - having turned fourteen on the 2nd of September - and can seem a little over serious sometimes, being determined to remain mature for her age, even if it leads to her being labelled as boring by some peers. As the middle Golding sister, she found it hard handling Kitty and Sasha’s individual reactions to their father leaving - having been the one with the most hope he’d come back at first, however time caused her to abandon this dream and she subsequently never wants to talk about him - unless it’s with her mom or Kitty, the latter of whom she’s come to confide in a lot since they’ve grown older. Like the women in her family, she’s short for her age and has a slight figure; with light hazel brown eyes and deep brown hair that borders on black, straightening it to wear down as she’s grown it long - having a beauty spot beneath her right eye that she shares with her Aunt Erica, being very proud of it. Her aesthetic is very feminine, preferencing tennis skirts and ruffled socks, incorporating elements of pastel academic and princesscore, with an emphasis on her favourite colour of pink - and her love of fashion and styling has made some people underestimate her intelligence, but she’s unphased by this and happily gets on with her work. Loyalty is a shared trait within her family too and she’s incredibly supportive of her best friend, who’s in a wheelchair, always objecting to anyone who treats her with difference. Part of her would like to study biology relating to physical disabilities when she’s older thanks to this friendship, as her friend experiences bouts of pain, and more than anything she wants to find a way to end this - something her best friend appreciates but assures her to not place such weight on her own shoulders. More recently she’s realised she’s gay and has just come out to her peers, but has no interest in trying dating as she finds the concept a bit much to face right now. Since Almond arrived, she’s been obsessed with the idea of getting another cat at some point - although this has been put on hold by her mom, who works long hours as a bank teller and feels one pet is enough for the family right now, although she hopes on this happening too once she’s able to cut down on her hours more. Aside from her mother and sisters, this girl visits their extended family whenever possible - sharing a close bond with her fifteen year old cousin Declan, who’s a fellow mathlete and dedicated member of his school debate team, often teaching her how to improve her arguing skills more as she wants to be able to match Kitty’s quick wit and Sasha’s creative retorts more often when they bicker or face judgment from someone who looks down on their mom, Natalie. Mr. Leland is someone she’s found herself able to talk to openly though, and he’s encouraged her love of visually pleasing desserts in particular, with her now learning how to ice and decorate the cakes she bakes - with her big plan being surprising her Aunt Erica and Uncle Kevin at their upcoming anniversary barbecue.

Summary

The final student is a whirlwind of energy. Painting is her favourite pastime and she’s usually splattered in remnants of her latest masterpiece, having an enthusiasm that’s not just for her art, but also cheering up others and speaking her mind. The daughter of a single mother, she has two older sisters - one’s 16, the other 14 - who she’s always trying to emulate, considering them both the epitome of coolness.

Summary

The next student has her sights set on becoming an architect, and often jokes that Coach AM increased her chances by introducing her to climbing - so her height perception has improved. She’s the eldest sister of Sasha Golding and. There was some friction between the siblings when they were younger, as their father’s abandonment of the family prompted a range of reactions, with her decision being to just ignore the pain rejection bought and when he was mentioned she’d vanish up to her room. This never dampened her defensive nature where her sisters are concerned, and she has a distinctly maternal quality to her nature - something that contrasts with her 2000s Avril Lavigne aesthetic, nose stud and short cut, tufty black hair that flips naturally at the ends - that extends to her friends, whom she’s very protective towards. She got a cat for her fourteenth birthday - in a very impromptu manner - who’s a tabby named Almond and doted upon by the whole family, especially their mom. Having come out as bisexual, she’s been talking to a girl who attends an all girl school in the next town over - however this information is being protected at all costs from her sisters, who she knows will conduct their own investigation and never stop bombarding her with questions. She belongs to a tight knit friend group and has known her best friend since she was only three, being an intensely loyal person who’ll stand by those she cares about to the bitter end - something she’s recognised in Coach AM and thoroughly respects. Sometimes her sarcasm can seem a little biting, but she’s been trying her best to scale this back as she doesn’t want to upset anyone.

  3. Ines Adelaide Golding

The next student comes from Moldova and immigrated a few years ago. He has a twin sister who is also in this class as they decided to take it together. He has a real knack for cooking and is always whipping up some delicious food for his family, such as Plăcinte or Mămăligă cu brânză și smântână. He will sometimes create dishes like these for food tech class, though they normally have to stick to the general guidelines of what they can make for this course as dictated by the school. This student has his own room at home which he calls his “man cave.” He has his own gaming setup so he can play games with his friends, despite not being a super avid video gamer. His brown hair is cut short and you can see the freckles along his face. His big brown eyes grab the attention of a lot of people as they are very captivating. He enjoys listening to music from The Weeknd and Drake after one of his friends, Milo, introduced him to it.

  4. Iosif Răzvan Bejenari

Iosif’s twin sister has the sweet tooth between the two of them, with her baking specialty being mucenici. She never passes up the chance to visit a patisserie when they travel. She has a vivid imagination, and is writing a chapter book that one of her friends is illustrating. She tends to be the more spirited of the twins, often begging Iosif to play Wii Music with her. She also loves DDR and Guitar Hero. Her dark brown hair has a slight wave to it, and she wears it in a simple half ponytail most days. Her skin is a littler darker complected, with fewer freckles, but her eyes are similar to Iosif’s, and they joke that that’s the easiest way to tell they’re related.

Though she’s glad to be in the same class with him, it’s important to her that they work at stations that are not too close together. She tends to be self-conscious of being a twin, and a little insecure about that being the reason people are interested in her. She is confident that her illustrator friend, and some friends that she’s made since joining the GSA in support of them, are interested in her for who she is, apart from being Iosif’s twin.

The next student often talks to Mr. Leland about cooking based on your heritage, being Lebanese and very dedicated to introducing others to the culture. She often brings in home-made falafel’s to share and wants to learn how to cook shakshuka without the help of her mom (although she appreciates the guidance in then kitchen). Her little brother, Tan, is incredibly dear to her and she’ll always offer to look after him if it means their parents get a break - not just for date nights but also to relax after work (her dad’s a firefighter and her mom’s an intensive care nurse). Sometimes this means she isn’t seen as the most reliable person, but her close friends understand this and she tends to befriend others’ with family commitments, hanging out with Ines Golding a lot. Aside from cooking, she enjoys dance - being talented at acro and lyrical in particular - and camping, often going with her cousins - as she has a large, extended family who live less than an hours drive away and they try to have gatherings as much as possible. She’s quite tall for her age and is proud of her silky black hair which is straight in texture and stops at the small of her back, usually braided atop her bead for food tech. Her eyes are honey brown and she often wears warm colours which complement them, having a large collection of soft, oversized jumpers which are her go to (typically being worn over a polo shirt or turtleneck), and she prefers to pair them with tennis skirts - although she often jokes about her lack of interest or ability where sports are concerned. Something else she finds relaxing is gardening, loving flowers in particular and has doodled them across a lot of her notebooks - with hopes that she can learn how to do floral makeup, although she’s apprehensive about trying it out, as she worries about it going wrong and looking bad. While she’s quite confident around her peers - always being comfortable answering questions in class or asking them in turn - she finds the idea of high school a little terrifying now; especially as she considers those older than her to be the epitome of coolness, something she’s certain she can’t emulate yet

The next student is a 13 year old boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was born in New York City, but his family moved when he was 5. He has two older brothers who both play baseball. This student played baseball for a while but never really found much love for the sport. He enjoyed watching his grandma cook extravagant dishes and became hooked on cooking. He has his own youtube channel where he posts easy tutorials for his friends to follow at home. His favorite dish to make is lemon chicken, something he used to eat all the time when his grandma made it. His favorite color is navy blue and his bedroom decorations certainly reflect that. He is a very bubbly boy and is always open to making a new friend.

The next student is a selective mute and sometimes misses classes thanks to his attendance of therapy sessions. Having grown up witnessing domestic violence, he now lives with his maternal Aunt Mackenzie “Macy” Delmoyer, and they’re estranged from the rest of the family, which is something he’s admittedly happy with. She introduced him to cooking as another means of therapy, and as a vegetarian, he enjoys introducing others to his favourite dishes and meat alternatives. Lacking in confidence, Mr. Leland is always supportive of his work and understanding in regards to his anxiety; nurturing more self-belief in this student, and they talk if he’s feeling low. A little tall for his age, he’s skinny and takes after his biological father (who’s identity is dubious), having an olive complexion and wiry, dark brown hair which falls about his ears. He has the same pale green eyes as his aunt though, and prefers dressing in dungarees or corduroy trousers; with naturecore being favoured by him more now he’s developing a sense of style and interest in fashion. Recently he got assigned a therapy dog, a lovely Corgi named Bess, who’s the darling of the class; and he loves nothing more than going for long walks with her, or just cuddling on the sofa. Art is his other main passion, something else he admittedly finds theraputic, and he’s currently trying to create a charcoal portray for his aunt, in thanks for how she’s raised him since he was seven.

Her mom is an [name_f]English[/name_f] doctor moving the family to the area. This student is a lover of crafting - she knits and sews and recently started embroidery. She feels like a mystery to her classmates sometimes as she has only been at [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] for a year but the other students flock to her. She is an introvert by nature and sometimes doesn’t know what to do with the attention. She’s feeling more confident this year and is trying to enjoy the new friendships she has made. The next student is Zandra’s friend from GSA. They are genderfluid, having been assigned male at birth. They have been wrestling with a recreation league since they were 10, and have complicated feelings about it. Tall and large for their age, they are used to being stared at. They recently bleached their hair and added a fuchsia stripe to their bangs, adding to the stares. They like to dress in A-line or asymmetrical skirts, or jeans or board shorts, and layered solid colored camisoles and tees on top. They know they push the boundaries, and that’s one of the reasons the school’s club has become so important to them - they feel less alone, and are stronger in their voice.

They and their younger and older sister are being raised by a single dad who had a long term partner when they were little, and since has been serially monogamous with several men. They lead a comfortable middle class life in a lot of ways. Their older sister has been the most accepting, giving fashion tips, and they’ll even raid each others’ closets sometimes.

Their favorite cuisine is Mediterranean, and whenever Mr. Leland gives an assignment that lets the students put their own twist on it, you can expect to taste a lot of tahini, cumin, and bright acidic lemon from this student.

  10. Gabriel ’ Ariel ’ Ellis Perryn

The 11th student is determined to be as independent as possible, and cookery is both a passion of hers as well as something she takes pride in. As the eldest of four children, she does her best to support her parents and younger siblings - her twin brother Lukas, nine year old brother Jared, who has a learning disability, and three year old sister Violet, who’s made it her mission to climb every piece of furniture in the house - as her dad’s a pathologist with lots of work commitments, meaning her mom doesn’t always get much time to herself. This has led to their eldest daughter maturing quickly, although they don’t want her to put too much weight on her shoulders and she attends gymnastics class to get time out the house. The school also set up a small group for students with siblings who have special needs, which she attends and has taken on a maternal role in regards to sole of the other members - understanding their worries, fears and struggles thanks to how she finds herself fretting at the thought of Jared somehow being hurt. At home, when she isn’t practicing her routines and he isn’t listening to music, Jared and his sister cook meals together with their mom making sure she’s in the kitchen and overseeing what they’re up to. Her very patient demeanor allows her to get along with others pretty well, although she tries to avoid becoming an agony aunt too much (with mixed success). Often this student wants to recreat Caribbean dishes her nana makes - which she associates with comfort and great times with her large extended family over - but has also begun expanding to other island based cuisines thanks to her having a great deal of interest in them in general. She’s close with Quinton Gardner and Ariel Perryn, speaking to the latter a lot about fashion as she works hard at maintaining her y2k, mermaid inspired aesthetic which is dominated by bright, ocean remnant colours and lots of unique patterns - being particularly obsessed with midi skirts on account of her older cousin Perdita, a fashion student, owning several. She’s one of the taller girls in the class and has a very athletic build on account of enjoying running alongside her gymnastics and acrobatics, often alternating the styling of her hair - having recently had honey coloured highlights added to its dark brown colour that she’s very proud of - and her eyes are a warm, nutmeg shade of brown. Her jewelry often includes shells and faux pearls to fit with the mermaid theme of her styling, and she’s begun collecting rocks from beaches whenever possible in the hopes of starting to make her own given time. Truthfully she was saddened her best friend didn’t also take this class - as they often have a lot of fun encouraging one another - but understands it isn’t a particular interest of hers and instead they meet one another after lessons to hang out.

The next student is not a huge fan of this class. She signed up after being waitlisted for the coding class she hoped to take part in. She wants to be a programmer when she’s older, directly going against her conservative stepfather. Her stepfather claims that “a woman’s place is in the kitchen” and that this student should just marry a rich guy. As a rising feminist icon (as she sees herself) she wants to become a computer science major and program apps targeted to women. She has short black hair that barely passes her ears. She wears clear-framed glasses as that’s what’s in style at the moment. She enjoys listening to indie music and female power ballad songs. She has an older step-brother who she doesn’t really talk to much. She enjoys hanging out and playing with the family cats - Rosa and Florence.

The next student is a typical daddy’s girl - having grown close to her father due to rather tragic circumstances, as her father had been abused by her mother physically for years. Once loving and caring, the woman who gave birth to her slowly became violent as she neglected her family and passion for MMA for the sake of alcohol - although this girl herself has never been hit due to her father and brothers always stepping in to protect her. Her father had trouble gaining any support and many did not believe that he as a man could be a victim of domestic violence. With the help of the girl’s paternal grandparents and aunt, he eventually managed to get a job in another city and move her, as well as her older brothers, to Marston Middle School. Ever since moving the girl became her vibrant, happy self again - wearing her naturally wavy, dark brown hair in a French braid, never letting go of colorful hairbands or hairslides, as well as always insisting on wearing something green. She has become very close friends with Quinton due to similliar experiences. Mr. Leland has noticed that, always ensuring that their cooking stations can be close together. Cooking has become her newest favourite hobby right next to collecting frog plushies in her favourite color. Having recently been introduced to her new stepmom, a Georgian woman named Ketevan , she took a great interest in Georgian cuisine and loves making Khachapuri, a kind of flat bread stuffed with cheese, mushrooms or meat - for herself, her family or friends to enjoy.

The next student is used to being asked a lot of questions and has developed a thick skin subsequently which allows him to now brush off most unfair perceptions. He’s Punjabi-American and like the rest of his family is a practicing Sikh, being proud of his beliefs and is always eager to educate others about them, with those questions being the kind he’s always happy to answer. Thanks to his dad’s job as a journalist, his family moved around quite a lot when he was young - as his father was finding his feet and the right place to work - and so he grew used to feeling a bit lonely for those years, meaning if he feels left out of a social situation he tends not to speak up. In spite of this, he belongs to a supportive, tight-knit group of friends and always brings snacks his mom taught him how to make: having a love of Punjab cuisine thanks to her cooking. The group often go skating together or climbing, which he admits he isn’t the greatest at but the thrill and company of his friends mean he doesn’t care about rhe pressure of performance and instead focuses on having a good time - also enjoying the freedom of getting time out the house, as he’s the third of five children and his younger siblings are prone to squabbling often, while his two older sisters’ go to battle over borrowed clothing items. While he knows he isn’t the greatest diplomat, he makes his mom laugh about all the strong personalities in the household if joins his big sisters’ in helping her sort out tools and stock for her work as a florist. He prefers to have variety in the colours of his head coverings - albeit he always opts for darker shades - and incorporates prints and patterns of his culture into his outfits, most of which include an oversized shirt of some variety, although he’s the first to admit he isn’t the most interested in fashion; however his seventeen year old sister has been helping customise some of his jeans with embroidered patterns, in exchange for free snacks. Iosif is a close friend of his and they often get paired up together, hyping one another up or discussing their home lives. Sometimes he worries about the fact he doesn’t have a clear plan for his future like some of his siblings do, being torn between pursuing cookery or perhaps following in the footsteps of his father - as the travel and intrigue journalism bring does have him slightly enamored; especially in the wake of the fact he’s intending on going to stay with his paternal great aunt and uncle in Malerkotla this summer.

The next student is a girl whose family is close to Mr. Leland’s family, having met when Mr. Leland’s wife, Minnie, started sourcing eggs from the student’s parents’ small local farm. She loves cooking anything at all, with extravagant brunches being her favorite. She grew up with Dora, and was surprised to see her in the class, even though she often comes over for brunch, as does Zaina.

The girl has a lean build, and is a ginger like her mom, with orange-y strawberry blonde hair that she wears in a messy bob, and freckles all over her body. She has hazel eyes that she likes to line with green liner, and a gap in her front teeth that she’d like to close. She has a brother who is in preschool, and while he can be a pest, she admits he’s also pretty cute. Her parents have been together for 20 years, having met at a local co-op grocery store. They’re still into a naturalistic lifestyle, even though this student has adapted it to meet her own needs. She cares a lot about sustainable agriculture, and tries to bring that conversation up in class quite a bit. She is also begging her mom to start an apiary with her. She wears only thrifted clothes, preferring matching denim with softer velvets and rayon. She is funny, bright, and passionate.

The next student is a boy who recently moved from Maine . He lives in a tight-knit family that his parents had been figthing for , a fight that has lasted over 4 years before he and his siblings were born. He is a triplet and a brother to two girls - each one with their unique artsy passion, firmly supported by his parents - an international law expert and human rights activist and a car salesperson. Though their parents seem like two completely different personalities due to the education they got, their marriage has been going strong for almost two decades and they are glad to finally be able to live the dream - three children, a hpuse with a big garden, and a dog - more specifically, a French Beauceron named Moxie .

This student treats cooking like art - creating very small but incredibly decorative portions with patterns made out of sauce that even the most creative painters would not typically come up with. Weirdly enough, in spite of his “posh” way of making dishes, he sticks to traditional American cuisine - his specialty being chowder. As someone who is relatively new to the area he has trouble making friends but really admires Everett and has been trying to emulate his natural charisma, as well as dreaming of their collaboration on Youtube. He, however, is not sure how to actually approach him, One student in this class recently noticed this and has been trying to push their friendship - with increasing success.

The next student is known for liking her privacy, yet this never stops her from being friendly with her classmates. She has three parents who are in a polyamorous relationship - two dads’ and a mom - which had caused a fair bit of eyebrow raising over time, but she’s come to dismiss assumptions as she’s aged thanks to her parents sincere happiness and mutual love and respect - although it is why she tends to keep her homelife quiet around those she isn’t close go. Her two younger siblings are adopted - her 11 year old brother from Arizona and 6 year old sister from Utah - as her parents’ decided they wanted to give homes to children who needed them after she was born, and their mentality has rubbed off on her. She often enjoys challenging herself with budgets, buying ingredients from ethically sourced places and accompanies her pops on trips to a local soup kitchen where she helps serve meals (not being old enough to cook there yet), with her brother now accompanying accompanying. Her ultimate dream is to set up a charity of her own some day, but with so many causes she finds important, she hasn’t settled on what exactly she’ll focus on just yet. Out of all her parents, she resembles her mom the most - being average height with a slight tan to her complexion that contrasts with the light blue of her eyes, and dark brown hair cut just beneath her shoulders; having just gotten her right rook pierced to accompany her lobes, something she takes a lot of pride in. She dresses in a sporty yet cute style, preferring stretchy and soft fabrics in pastel colours (e.g. tennis dresses and skorts), usually pushing her hair back with a headband and recently she got a pair of platform trainers for her 14th birthday which she’s absolutely obsessed with. Her parents run their own business - an electronic supply and repair shop: her mom Gretchen being the main technician, dad Sean being the accountant and papa Levi the general manager - which is where she gets her organisational skills from, although how she applies it tends to be her personal brand of chaos. In order to avoid any kind of disparity within the family, each child taking the surname of a different parent and she shares her mom’s. She’s also the orchestrator/head cheerleader behind Everett and Oz’s potential friendship, which helps distract her from the impending reality that is her crush on Ines, who she’s often paired up with.
