This next student is Chaya’s cousin. He is very studious and good at just about every subject under the sun. He is 5’0, extremely short for his age. He enjoys playing video games with his friends. His mother rescues animals and his father is a software developer. He has big dreams of getting into an [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] League school. He unsurprisingly excels in this class. Despite being very serious and controlling, this student also has a good sense of humor and is very up to date with internet culture.

[name_f]Chaya[/name_f] is occasionally jealous of her cousin’s academic success but doesn’t make him aware of it. This student ran his own youtube channel in middle school with his best friend. He is introverted but has a tight knit group of friends.

The sedcond-to-last student is the newest to the class, having moved to St. James’s [name_u]Marsh[/name_u] just over 3 months ago after his mom got offered a job teaching [name_f]English[/name_f] Language at the community college. Thanks to the swiftness of the process they’re living with his Aunt [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] at the moment - something that’s put him in a bit of an awkward position, as he’s developed a good friendship with [name_u]Joseph[/name_u], but his aunt’s a dog walker and has a dalmatian of her own (Luella); meaning they can only hang out at the [name_u]Miller[/name_u] household or other places, as Luella’s very friendly and absolutely will want to meet [name_u]Joseph[/name_u]. This development surprised even him, as he’s never been the most sociable of people himself - taking quite some time to relax and open up around new people - but [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] is someone he immediately clicked with.

He attributes his tendency to keep a distance to the circumstances regarding his parents’ break up: his father, [name_m]Craig[/name_m] (who he only refers to by his first name now), started an affair with a colleague at the pharmacy he worked at, and walked away from his partner and then 7-year-old son to be with her. Subsequently, this student has refused to have any contact with him, and admits he has trust issues in general because of how the abandonment affected him.

Consistently since then, he’s attended counselling to help work on these issues - having made some progress, which reassures him a little - and it’s also ignited his own interest in becoming a therapist too; perhaps involving animals somehow, thanks to how much his pet rats - Kiwi & [name_m]Tango[/name_m] - have cheered him up over the years. Part of him has a major soft spot for unconventional animals, including rodents and lizards, and he’s begun volunteering at a local animal shelter which specialises in caring for unwanted or abandoned pets.

Tall for his age at 6’3", he has a slight build and very pale skin, which is emphasised more so by the fact he has midnight black hair - which has recently gained some indigo streaks around the bangs that brush his cheeks. He’s let his hair grown to shoulder length at the recommendation of a friend from [name_u]Denver[/name_u] where he grew up, with its thick and wavy texture framing his heart shaped face nicely. Aesthetically he combines Dark [name_f]Paradise[/name_f] and gloomcore, usually wearing loose and baggy clothing that emphasise his slim physique and height: typically going for oversized sweaters (favouring patterns that incorporate geometric qualities), long overcoats, woolen vests on top of graphic print tees and jeans torn up to their limit; sometimes wearing fingerless gloves and painting his nails with grey polish. His eyes are a grey-green and go nicely with the small silver chain he always wears around his neck - which he inherited from his maternal great-gran - as well as his crystal studded nasallang piercing. Often his hands are weathered from climbing, combining this with his love of urban exploring.

[name_m]Trig[/name_m] isn’t his favourite subject, as traditional academics intimidate him quite a bit - something that wasn’t exactly helped by Dr. Aamodt and her formidable reputation - but he’s considerably more engaged now he’s getting a feel of things. [name_m]Art[/name_m] is truly where he expresses himself, mostly through screen printing and chalks; however he also enjoys history and [name_f]English[/name_f], not caring about being the best but just getting by enough to not cause more concern. Although he’s an avid cyclist, he also has a drivers license and borrows his mom’s car as much as possible, with driving being the best way for him to relax, clear his head and embrace freedom without feeling too distant from his loved one’s.

The last student is a good friend of [name_f]Shanna[/name_f] - mainly because of the friendship between their families and the fact that [name_m]Frank[/name_m] [name_m]Bach[/name_m] is his godfather, having studied photograhy at university together with this student’s dad - [name_m]Brent[/name_m] . This guy and [name_f]Shanna[/name_f] grew up treating each other pretty much like cousins in spite of how different they were - although the one hobby that they share is creating memes about their respective interests.

This guy is currently suffering from Reiter’s disease , which developed following an infection of his digestive system - although it does not cause permament disability, it attacks the joints , urinary systems and eyes of patients, being most common in young men. While the most alarming symptoms have already passed, joints in this student’s legs are still heavily affected , which results in him still regurarly having to skip class for the sake of appointments with his rheumathologist, as well as attending physical therapy sessions. He also uses mobility assistance to move around - namely a walker, which he jokingly calls “black Maserati” due to its color.

Although he has always been quite sickly and prone to several infections, he never thought this fact would ever affect his mobility beyond the occasional days of a flu so severe that he couldn’t move from his bed much. However, this experience made him even closer to [name_f]Shanna[/name_f] who showed him forums for people using mobility aid and gave him all the tips that she could. It included those on how to ignore rude stares , dismiss invasive questions or turn expressions of pity into a joke. He also made friends with [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] Lykaios - they go to the same physical therapy centre and he often shares Isaac’s videos on his social media, being quite recognisable in his community and giving [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] a lot of followers.

He is Catholic and very active in the church - he used to be a church choir singer together with Mylene , but decided to quit this activity for the sake of joining Percussion [name_m]Mark[/name_m] 5 as the frontman - he’s always been pretty close to [name_u]Blake[/name_u] Longworth because they’re literally next-door neighbours, Although he is not as much of a musical prodigy as [name_u]Blake[/name_u], his friend says that he has an angelic yet raspy voice which stands out and makes Percussion [name_m]Mark[/name_m] 5 different. This guy’s lyrics differ from Blake’s - being much less cynical and more hopeful, often talking about his relationship with God and the strength that faith gave him in an indirect way - using not only Bibliacal , but also literary and phylosphical references - he often consults them with his mom, [name_f]Sinead[/name_f] , who is Irish by roots and has a doctorate in philosophy.

While religious , he refuses to discriminate against other points of view - sometimes he talks to [name_f]Ella[/name_f] in a respectful manner, wanting to understand better why she decided to become atheist and trying to better his church community by taking into account the comments that she is giving, being more mindful of people who may have doubts regarding faith.

He also eagerly learns about other religions - here, conversations with [name_f]Chaya[/name_f] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] bring an awful lot of knowledge. They do not stop at this one topic though - having learned about [name_f]Chaya[/name_f] ‘s longing for a cat , he referred her to the cattery that he got his own furry friend from - an elegant Sphynx diva named [name_f]Nefertari[/name_f] . He also has two ferrets - Musty and Reeky - both of whom he loves dearly despite the rather funny names that describe the two furry guys’ smell. They’re incredibly playful companions that love to play outside of their cage in the little fun zone that he created for them - consisting of tubes , balls and other toys that they love to get wild with , unlike [name_f]Nefertari[/name_f] , who is rather phlegmatic and mostly prefers cuddling with her owners on the couch - and in spite of the lack of fur, she’s warm like a thermophore!

If he’s not singing, enjoying the company of his pets or helping in the church , he’s probably choosing what to wear - [name_u]Blake[/name_u] in particular made him more style-concious recently than he used to be. Being 5’‘11’’ with a very slim figure, he has a pale complexion, lots of freckles around his nose and cheeks, as well as strongly outlined cheekbones - he loves to alter those features with make-up, mostly covering the freckles with a concealer or using a blusher in warm colours to make his skin appear more florid. His favourite colour of eyeshadow is hazelnut brown because he feels like it compliments his pale green eyes. He also has short , very curly hair which made his younger brother - currently a 9th grader at Mendel’s - call him " Lamb lad" jokingly.

When it comes to clothes , he goes for the light academia aesthetic often - wearing checked berets, never letting go of the leather watch he got from his dad on his 17th birthday, as well as wearing beige, oversized sweaters in a way that makes the collar of the white shirt underneath it still visible.

GSCE [name_m]History[/name_m] – Year 10 / St Mary’s High School (27 students – age 14-15)

This Liverpudlian has been teaching for just over 35 years. He has a reputation at St Mary’s for being one of stricter members of staff but he is fair. He’s heard every excuse for late homework and has no time for those students who don’t care. However, will support students who are going through a tough time or want help with their work. He is passionate about history and believes understanding history helps everyone better understand the world today.

His main historical area of interest is the Guinea Pig Club in WW2 which was ran by a doctor who improved the treatment and rehabilitation of badly burned members of the RAF. Due to this interest in the topic, he writes books and often talks to people who have been injured at war. This makes him a favourite of the disabled pupils as he understand (like his veterans) that they are people who can achieve the same as other pupils.

He is married to a [name_f]English[/name_f] teacher and together they have an adult daughter and son and a Labrador called [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. Him and his wife often take [name_f]Molly[/name_f] on long rambles in the countryside and to varies historian sites. Other hobbies include gardening, being a part of his pub quiz team and letting his 2 young grandchildren by his daughter wrap him around their fingers.

Teacher: [name_m]Brian[/name_m] ’ [name_f]Bri[/name_f] ’ [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_f]Dair[/name_f] / Mr. [name_f]Dair[/name_f]

The first student is easily identifiable on account of her cybergoth aesthetic, sticking out like a sore thumb in most classes - much to her delight. She’s very bright and does well in most classes, something that surprised her teachers initially as her dress sense seemed to warn them she’d combat everything academic like those who came before her. [name_m]Art[/name_m] is the one thing she knows she’s rubbish at, and this frustrated her a lot growing up, as she used to dream of being a tattooist like her Uncle Steve; however she feels merely tracing diminishes the merit of a piece, and has come to feel a little lost since her main dream now feels unobtainable. To combat this she’s worked harder on her studies and explored other subjects more, finding the expression of [name_f]English[/name_f] and reflectiveness of history particularly helpful - albeit she hasn’t found an answer just yet. Her uncle does his best to support her, especially as her dad, [name_u]Jack[/name_u], works as a paramedic and is often on call, meaning his adopted brother has often filled in the role of a listening ear for this student; something many assumed would cause tension within her family, but it’s been far from the case, as [name_m]Steve[/name_m] and Jack’s turbulent starts in life have given them an understanding that allows them to put their loved ones first.

Sometimes she speaks to her mum, [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f], but tries to limit this as she knows she’s been through a lot of pain herself - having been a model in her teens and twenties who struggled with both bulimia and anorexia; becoming deathly afraid of passing the disorder onto her own daughters. Thankfully, neither this student nor her younger sister, twelve-year-old [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (who’s known as [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] affectionately), have - but it always lingers thanks to the prominent role it played for their mother. She’s subsequently very defensive of anyone who criticises her parents for their own struggles, having an understanding outlook on life and people, with an attitude that favours empathy above all else. It’s what’s made her find Mr. Dair’s subject of expertise so compelling and transformed her casual interest in history into a true appreciation, much to the despair of [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] who finds her collection of history books “completely grim” and would much rather discuss her ballet recitals than power battles across Europe. Truthfully her teacher was surprised by this development - as while good at his subject, she never seemed that invested in it before - but it’s been a pleasant surprise, and often she’ll ask him for reading recommendations; although her bookshelf might want a break as she’s amassed quite the library since a young age.

She’s 5’5" and has a fuller figure, something she used to be a little insecure about next to her slim younger sister, but now she’s not come to mind. Although not allowed to dye steaks in her hair due to school policy, she wears clip in red ones on a weekend, loving how they compliment her natural colour of auburn: cutting her hair at shoulder length and usually having it up in space buns or very high braids for class. Her aesthetic is expressed as much as possible, bending the uniform rules to the limits in how she dresses through tights and blocky shoes; pinning lots of badges to her rucksack, tie and blazer; as well as having a nice collection of holographic earrings. She’s allowed to wear arm warmers on account of having accident when she was six that led to scarring on her right forearm - after accidentally knocking a boiling kettle of water onto herself - and they are, of course, black; as she was strictly told neon embellishments were off limits unless it’s non-uniform day. Her complexion is fair and she has blue eyes that tend to pale next to the mixture of colours she favours - typically going for baggier clothing outside of school for comfort; but for her recent fifteenth birthday she got a killer pair of platform ankle boots she already adores. A septum piercing is her dream, but her parents have agreed sixteen is when she can get it done, and that’s if they can get around St. Mary’s by having her flip it up during classes.

Thanks to her mum being allergic to dog and cat hair, she has an unconventional pet in the form of an axolotl named Rhubarb, who she adores and loves taking photos of. She mostly relies on Polaroids for this, admitting she has a bit of a hipster side to her that amuses her close friends to no end - especially as many of them belong to the alternative community themselves. Photos of herself are a rarity unless she feels the background of a location is suitably complementary to her aesthetic - but she’s always happy to take them of others; having captured Gracie’s dance recitals over the years for their parents, and now Uncle Steve’s welcomed his first child with his girlfriend Yàn-Yuxīn, she’s taking many of her cousin [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]. Scrapbooking has become a useful means of displaying her hobby, although it’s broken up by her dedication to hockey: a sport she finds has helped her embrace and accept herself thanks to her figure. When she isn’t keeping herself busy, she can be heard but not seen at home, blasting a range of metal bands in her room for some time to relax.

The next student was born in Kolkota , [name_f]India[/name_f] but relocated to the small town of Redholm [name_u]Lake[/name_u] near Liverpool when he was merely 9 months old - his older brother [name_m]Siddharth[/name_m] " [name_u]Sid[/name_u] " was four back then and older sister [name_f]Tanvi[/name_f] was six. Now that they’re both adults and away from the nest of their family home , it feels pretty empty. He cannot get away with mischief quite as easily as he used to anymore - gaining ridiculous amounts of attention from his parents recently. They have been pestering him to study more and take the GSCE exams seriously.

He never really prioritized academics , preferring sports - especially cricket , where he is regarded as a prodigy for the local junior league. He is tall for his age with an athletic build and has a balanced vegetarian diet - like many Hindu families , his folks avoid meat altogether. He also prioretizes training and regular exercise , not wanting to throw away the chance to be a professional player in the future. His coach . Mr. Goswami is certain that he has amazing prospects for that.

Other than sports, he’s also rather interested in urban legends and conspiracy theories - often binge-watching videos of that nature on Youtube and even contemplating on whether or not he could launch a podcast on that topic. The only thing that holds him back is his thick Bengali accent , which he worries could be the cause of hate comments and lower his self-esteem. Not that the accent really bothers anyone in his everyday life , it’s just that Internet anonymity brings out the worst in people sometimes!

For now he tries his hardest to incorporate his interest in urban legends and conspiracy theories into fashion - although with St. Mary’s strict dress code it is a rather tricky thing to do. He sticks to wearing khaki trench coats to school - even if they inveitably end up in the cloakroom. He also has a ton of alien-themed keychains and pins on his black and white Reebok backpack - not even caring if they cover the brand name logo or not.

He only decided to take the GSCE history exam because he is pretty good at cramming the needed dates and information when he wants to - having a good memory that runs in the family. However, Mr. [name_f]Dair[/name_f] managed to spark genuine interest in this student by talking about numerous battles in WW2 where [name_f]Indian[/name_f] soliders participated - but did not shy away from talking how colonization negatively affected [name_f]Indian[/name_f] citizens in the 20th century. Mr. Dair’s effort to be objective is something this student really appreciated. A week ago he asked the teacher for reading recommendations , hoping to get one of the suggested books for his 15th birthday in late [name_u]January[/name_u] - according to [name_f]Tanvi[/name_f] , who is an avid horoscope reader “There is no other guy in the world who radiates as much [name_m]Aquarius[/name_m] energy as my little brother”.

The next student is actually from [name_u]South[/name_u] Korea, but was adopted as a child. They no longer remember much about their life there, but they would love to learn about it. They are nonbinary but were AFAB. They recently transitioned around a month or two ago. They are quite short for their age, only being around 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. They are a big foodie and enjoy making homecooked meals for their family, consisting of their mum, dad, and older brother, who is in year 11. They would dress in a very emo/punk style that has a pretty androgynous feel to it, but school uniforms don’t always make that easy. Their favorite color is a bright and deep purple. Their favorite subject in school is not history, but rather, mathematics. They really enjoy learning about the different equations and why the problems make sense.

[name_u]Sam[/name_u] and this student enjoy discussing conspiracy theories and urban legends, especially when it comes to pretty creepy stories about Redholm [name_u]Lake[/name_u]. They get along with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] when discussing tattooing and art, as this student would love to get a tattoo. They want to get a Korean [name_f]Rose[/name_f] tattooed on their wrist, but they are waiting a few more years under their parents’ wishes.

This next student is a girl who doesn’t particularly love history but is taking this class because she desperately wants to ace her GCSE’s. The youngest of three siblings, her older twin brothers, [name_u]William[/name_u] and [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], both excelled academically. Her brothers are 21 and both are studying at [name_m]Oxford[/name_m] University.

This student has a lot of pressure put on her to be as good as her brothers from her parents. Her sexist father often will make remarks that she will not be able to be as good as them because she is a girl. She spends most of her time studying and has few friends, though secretly she admires [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

Because she spends nearly all of her time either studying or attempting to impress her parents, she rarely puts effort into her personal style. Her chest-length blonde hair often is unbrushed so she pulls it into a messy bun. She is secretly passionate about filmography but doesn’t pursue it due to lack of time in her schedule. Mr. [name_f]Dair[/name_f] wants to reach out as he can tell this student is struggling but he has not found the right time to do so.

The next guy has just joined St. Mary’s halfway through the school year after being discharged from a facility for patients suffering from eating disorders. His parents did not notice their son’s worsening condition because they were not there - he had been a student of a boarding ballet school up to that point. The school mostly focused on putting out their own performances and perfecting pupils’ dance skills , but also had regular classes in order to prepare them for nationally required exams,

This student has been always been a perfectionist and loved what he does , unfortunately the teachers did not notice his bulimia developing and the person who alarmed the staff was this student’s best friend at the school , a girl called [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].

She noticed that despite always eating lunches the student has been losing weight and the condition of his teeth also worsened. After being confronted the guy opened up to [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] about his insecurities and the fact that he saw himself as fat while looking in the mirror - she was asked to keep the secret but worried about him greatly , so she broke the promise , concluding it would be better for the student’s health.

This student used to have a lot of resentment towards [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] but frequent therapy sessions and the time spent with other teens suffering from eating disorders helped him understand that he needed a change of environmet for his situation to get better. He still struggles with his disorder every day but he is glad to finally live with his parents in Redholm [name_u]Lake[/name_u] again after having been away for 4 years. He is recieving tremendous support from them , although they feel a lot of guilt for not having noticed their son’s struggles sooner. His mom , [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] , wanted to sue the student’s former school for neglectful behaviour towards pupils but this student objected, not being in the right mental state for a battle in court. It doesn’t help that his dad , [name_u]James[/name_u] , is a barrister and specialises in advocacy which is the skill of speaking in court. The student feels like the legal route is the first thing his dad usually thinks about , not really thinking about whether or not it is needed in a given situation.

Fortunately [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_u]James[/name_u] decided to prioritize their son’s mental health and emotional wellbeing, spending a lot of time together. He also reunited with his older sister , [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] , who flew all the way from Australia to meet him. She is in the process of getting a veterinary degree at the University Of Queensland. She also works part-time as a shop assistant in a local pet store near her campus. After consulting her brother and parents, [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] decided to make her brother an early birthday present - his birthday is [name_u]December[/name_u] 7th and he is a Sagittarius. [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] has always known that hisbrother was into dragons and lizards as a child , desperately longing for a pet reptile. She therefore decided to make his childhood dream come true and bought him a lovely Blue-Tounged Skink named [name_m]Grover[/name_m] . While not very popular in the UK, they’re one of the most loved pet lizards in Australia and are often recommended for beginner owners.

This guy really bonded with [name_m]Grover[/name_m] over the past few weeks and loves talking with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] about their unconventional pets. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] 's mom also suggested that she can to this student about how she overcame her struggles with eating disorders, however [name_f]Jane[/name_f] was offended by the idea and doesn’t want to give off the impression that she pities this student for what he’s been through. She would much rather share self-made memes of Rhubarb with him and tag the ones with [name_m]Grover[/name_m] with lots of heart emojis.

Other than [name_f]Jane[/name_f] this student is very closed off to others , including Mr. [name_f]Dair[/name_f]. He only joined this class because he was hoping that it would touch on mythology - especially Celtic - and was disappointed to discover how much the course focuses on modern history instaed. He is rather fascinated by mythological creatures - not only the already mentioned drangons , but especially Selkies , who are half-seal half-human creatures mentioned in Scotish folktales that he heard a lot growing up in Northern [name_u]Scotland[/name_u]. until the age of 8. His most precious posession is a warm coat from faux seal fur that he never fails to wear to school on colder days. He’ll often include motifs featuring Scottish marine life on his T-shirts or even regular button up shirts - his mom can sew pretty well and there’s nothing she likes more than seeing this student’s smile after she creates a minke whale or risso’s dolphin on whatever item he asks for. Although he appears to be done with ballet, he is eager to pursue art by creating his own selkie and Scottish folklore inspired short stories. For now the only people who know about his writings are [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_u]Charles[/name_u] - an anorexic 14-year-old that this student met during his recovery in the facility that he recently left.

The next student has been at St. Mary’s since Year 2. She has shoulder-length blonde hair with natural highlights and pretty blue eyes that get bluer when she cries. She is average weight with a natural build. She’s 5’7", though she wishes she were shorter, because, in her opinion, boys are more attracted to shorter girls.

She’s boy crazy, and she knows it. Her best friend, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], constantly reminds her to flirt with subtlety, but she doesn’t care. If she likes a boy, he’s going to know it. Odd thing is, the boys don’t seem to like her too much. She’s got plenty of guy friends, but none of them seem interested. No matter how perfect and trendy her outfit is, and how cute her hair is, they don’t seem to notice her. [name_m]Even[/name_m] when they flirt back (which the boys do a lot), they still seem to show signs that they aren’t interested.

Still, she’s learning to be content with the present, and not dwell in her daydreams. She’s never had much drama in her life, for which she is grateful. However, sometimes she wishes there was some drama, so that she can have inspiration for her story-oriented mind. Her dream is to one day write a novel. How wonderful would it be for someone to love her work!

Mr. [name_f]Dair[/name_f] does have trouble keeping her attention in class, though. She’s always swiveling her head, in hopes that someone might be looking at her. Occasionally, she’ll perk up with a sassy comment or roll her eyes. This student doesn’t take after her older siblings at all, Mr. [name_f]Dair[/name_f] has decided. Her brother, [name_u]Henry[/name_u], and her sisters, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], were all very attentive and respectful in class when he had them years earlier. Somehow, though, she manages to keep her grades up. At least she won’t need a tutor, because who knows whether or not a tutor would be able to keep her attention.

The next student. Trouble maker of the class. So much to hide from her abusive background at home and she acts out. Her siblings [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_u]Dara[/name_u] (Twins, age 12) acted diffrently, they were quiet and accepted the bullying but oh no, she did not do this. Her Mother, deeply ill and her father abusive and rude are not the care this 10 year old girl needs. She has three younger siblings and she has to look after them while her Dad is at the bar and her Mum is in bed.

Her and her parents immigrated from [name_f]Asia[/name_f] when she was only 3 and she started at St. [name_f]Marys[/name_f] quickly. Shes in year six now. She has short black hair, messy and curly. Her nose is slim and pointy and some may even call her pretty. A boy in her class, [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] has liked her for ages. She is Muslim and does not wear a hijab yet. She wears a baggy brown t-shirt with stains on most days, with her loose jeans which [name_f]Mila[/name_f] has embroidered for her and a hoodie, wet and stinks of beer. Her best friend is called [name_m]Moose[/name_m], a shy boy of 11 who has a loving single Mum.

He has always gotten things handed down to him from sibling to sibling. His favourite color is red after his love for the Manchester United FC. He enjoys watching football (soccer), but is a bit uncoordinated and clumsy so he doesn’t play. His childhood best friend, [name_m]Ben[/name_m], plays football for the St. Mary’s team, and this student enjoys showing up at the games to watch his friend.

He is an avid reader, and enjoys exploring fantasy worlds, ancient empires, and murder mysteries through his books. He also enjoys riding his bike up and down the streets of his neighborhood as the house is often a bit hectic with so many people. He knows a little bit of Spanish, but only enough to get him through a conversation.

He enjoys wearing light grey sweatpants and crewneck sweaters for a more comfy and casual look, but also enjoys jeans and a t-shirt. He prefers having a school uniform because it helps him get ready in the morning quicker as he is a heavy sleeper and often oversleeps, much to his parents’ dismay.

The class is for students aged 14-15, unless she skipped a few grades it wouldn’t make sense for her to be in the class.

I’ll just add that in the UK we don’t really skip grades/years? Maybe if you’re a few months older or younger and missed time but it’s pretty rigid

The next student is a girl, an only child, but has biological sisters [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] & [name_f]Raina[/name_f]. She has lovely cocoa skin and shiny brown hair. She takes high pride in her dark green eyes. She tends to be quiet and soft-spoken, but when put in the right crowd she likes to talk.

She loves to do makeup and cosmetics. It’s been a hobby ever since she was allowed to wear makeup, and she spends all her extra time practicing, and all her extra money buying new products to practice with. She’s the girlfriend of [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], and loves the sound of “Loveday” as a future last name.

Besides always having a perfect makeup job, this girl is a math whiz. Though she is terrible at other subjects, numbers just seem to click.

The next student is half-British and half-Serbian. He is part of the Eastern Orthodox Church and sometimes talks to [name_u]Sam[/name_u] about being part of a minority religion because [name_u]Sam[/name_u] is Hindu. This student stongly prefers football (soccer) to cricket, so they sometimes quarrel about that aspect, but it’s all in good fun. The same quarrles happen between this student and [name_u]Chris[/name_u] on the grounds of team preferences - this student cannot possibly grasp why [name_u]Chris[/name_u] would rather be a fan of Manchaster United FC rather than Liverpool FC - or , as the fans call them " The Reds" - whilst knowing that Redholm [name_u]Lake[/name_u] is so close to Liverpool. At the end of the day though , [name_u]Chris[/name_u] and this student are good friends who love to play soccer together - especially because this student lives in a quite large, three-storey house with an impressive garden which has a special part of it dedicated to playing soccer. As this student says “It’s not the same as a stadium , but it’s good enough!”. [name_u]Sam[/name_u] also visits this student often and although they don’t play soccer , [name_u]Sam[/name_u] likes his friend’s house due to the fact that it’s in close proximity to a field on which - rumour has it - an UFO has once landed in the 90s and caused frequent raining which destoyed the crops. This student doesn’t buy it , though - his father [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] is a meteorologist and says that every possible weather anomaly can be scientifically explained.

This student has other people who play soccer with him - particularly twin brothers [name_m]Louis[/name_m] and [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] who are both 12 and live on the first floor. He has his bedroom on the second floor and used to live with [name_f]Edith[/name_f] - their older sister who is currently 18 and training to become a flight attendant while living with her roomate [name_f]Selma[/name_f] in Newcastle. As much as Edith’s presence used to annoy this student and he quarreled with her over who gets to use the space between their rooms , it got a little lonely without her intitially. However, after she moved out, this student’s parents agreed to get a cat - a lovely British Shorthair cat named [name_f]Kassiani[/name_f] . [name_f]Kassiani[/name_f] is a female cat whose name means "cinnamon " in Greek. The name was given to her over the colour of her fur. This student effectively transformed Edith’s former room into [name_f]Kassiani[/name_f] 's - using tips from the book " Catification " by famous cat tamer [name_u]Jackson[/name_u] [name_u]Galaxy[/name_u] . That was a change approved by [name_f]Edith[/name_f] who is glad that her room didn’t have the chance to become haunted and loves [name_f]Kassiani[/name_f] as much as everyone else in the family.

This student is very good at history - it’s because his Serbian mom [name_f]Zorana[/name_f] always wanted him to be familliar with the maternal part of his heritage. She told him a lot about the history of Serbia and the Balkans growing up. His favourite period to learn about it’s the " Balkan Powder Keg " - which was a political term used to describe an unstable political situation of the region from 20th century onwards. The consequences that the 20th century had for the region last to this day and that’s why this student values the knowledge - he feels that it helps him understand the current situation and mindsets of his maternal family. He is very eager to learn , especially about the Cold War period after 1945. His current knowledge and willlingness to expand it really impresses Mr. [name_f]Dair[/name_f]. The teacher regurarly gives him book recommendations which he ends up reading in a heartbeat. He also knows that the student has a giftt for explaining things clearly to peers. This student regurarly helps [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] with history homework and encourages her to be more attentive during class. He also tends to lighten up the atmosphere while learning with her by showing her cute picturees of [name_f]Kassiani[/name_f] , which she appreciates. The 15 year old guy has developed a crush on [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] but is afraid to admit it. He doesn’t want to ruin the good relationship that he and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] have due to learning together. He also doesn’t want to be ridiculed by guy friends for dating " the [name_m]Cupid[/name_m] Arrow-struck girl" .

The next student is a bit of a wildcard when it comes to studies, having very specific areas of interest and so she isn’t always fully engaged. Fashion, textiles and design are absolutely her greatest passions - having her eyes firmly set on a future in the industry, often practice sketching collection ideas - which some people find a little odd considering she was raised by a single father, and assumed she’d become a tomboy because of this. Even if she isn’t necessarily emulating the trends she’s always up to date on them and has a collage on her bedroom wall beside her bed, depicting particular outfits that inspire her own creative process - including both the avant-garde and everyday for variety. In spite of her reputation, Mr. Dair hasn’t been deterred from approaching her and discussing history, with her desire to avoid fast fashion linking nicely to how class often dictates this subject and this has led to her developing an appreciation for the subject as a whole. Greater world history is something that’s piqued her interest more, as she’s adopted - having been born in Satbayev, Kazakhstan - and now she’s engaging with her culture more, its background fascinates her.

Being an only child she’s very close to her dad, Ashley, and developed her quiet form of confidence as a child when she faced bullying due to the fact her father is gay and dated a few men (although nothing serious really came of these relationships). From time to time she’s wished she could have a sibling, most commonly when her dad’s busy at his job as a chemist, but as she’s gained more independence and matured, she’s happier it being just the two of them thanks to their bond. She’s never the sort of person to be called gregarious or bold but never shies away from letting her opinions be known, and is staunch in her beliefs. Having long been involved in LGBTQIA+ activism because of this, she’s realised her own bisexuality recently and has come out to a few people: her close family and friends - but is working on crafting herself a lining for her favourite jacket that’s in the colours of the bi flag. Ollie is a close friend of her’s and Mr. Dair is mercifully a teacher who allows those who get along to sit together, meaning she feels assured in expressing her opinions more, as some people dismiss her suggestions on account of how she’s known to prioritise fashion design above traditional academics (something only those she’s close to know affects her).

She’s tall for fifteen at 5’7" and has a slim figure, which is mostly made up of her legs - being good at running, although she doesn’t participate in sports much. Hair styling is something she enjoys too and her coffee coloured hair is cut at the small of her back, taking pride in its wavy texture and how her hazel eyes lighten thanks to the dark shade. Recently she got some caramel brown highlights to frame her face, being careful to fit with school regulations; although she isn’t afraid of trying the rules in how she has her lobes pierced twice and also her daith in her left ear. Her personal aesthetic is actually quite restrained: princesscore with white as the central colour, accented by pinks, peaches and yellows; preferring light and airy fabrics that puff up slightly, minimalistic patterns and wears lace trimmed socks to school in the summer - with the most extravagant parts of her outfits being her hair accessories that she feels finish her looks perfectly. Usually she attends class with her hair styled in a high ponytail that has a silk scarf wrapped around it and always wears the amethyst pendant her dad got for her, sometimes opting for kerchiefs in winter that match her jackets and coats. Brands aren’t important to her - a surprise to a lot of her classmates - but she does own a lovely House of Sunny cardigan which was a gift from her nana and granddad after she aced her Kazakh language exam - something she was allowed to take as an elective for GSCE as long as her dad arranged the tutoring.

Sometimes she wonders about her biological family, as they remain a mystery even to the orphanage where she spent the first five months of her life - her mother having given a fake name when registering her - and has contemplated trying to learn more when she’s eighteen. The only person who knows of this plan is depth is her best friend, as she’s scared of hurting her dad or seeming like she’s rejecting her family by going on this quest - something she isn’t even certain about, as the likelihood of rejection frightens her. Her dad has helped her engage with her culture and heritage, something she greatly appreciates, and she wants to do something special for his upcoming birthday - but right now her minds drawing a blank. Unfortunately their dog - Davey, a German Shorthaired Pointer - hasn’t given her much good advice and instead is focused on obtaining cuddles, which practically everyone who meets him is happy to give. She’s easily identifiable when she takes him out walking in the small village they live him, not just thanks to her pink penny lane coat that’s often picked out for such an occasion, buy also due to her cute, distinctive nickname that she’s very happy her dad picked out for her when she was little.

The next student chose to study history more out of obligation initially, than a sincere interest. His mum’s a prominent archaeologist who’s often wrapped up in her work, leading her son to decide the best means of connecting with her is furthering his own knowledge of the past. Since his older brother left for university to study [name_f]English[/name_f] Literature, he’s found himself feeling lonelier - as they always spoke to one another about their fears, hopes and dreams; not feeling their 4 year age gap created any barriers, thanks to their mutual love of reading and expressing themselves in written form: a trait shared by the whole family to varying degrees.

Although he feels guilty about it, he doesn’t confide in his mama, [name_f]Carly[/name_f], about his uncertainties either, as she’s faced a great deal of turmoil herself throughout life, thanks to her family rejecting her for being openly gay and choosing to pursue happiness with her wife, [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f]. Deep down he feels he shouldn’t be experiencing depressive symptoms - his parents are loving and supportive, even if they’re often busy working - but this is a secret he’s only shared with his best friend: someone he’s known since they were both only 3, and he considers them his unofficial third sibling.

His sentimentality would be a surprise to many thanks to how cool and reserved he comes across externally, having not even seemed phased when Mr. [name_f]Dair[/name_f] dealt with him both obsessing over his grades while also never really being too happy in class. It’s well-known that [name_f]English[/name_f] and RE are where he excels - a combination of enjoyment and talent - yet he can do well in just about anything thanks to having an enviably strong memory.

At 5’10", he’s lanky and usually sits back in a way that gives his legs plenty of room, being quite languid in his movements. His jet black hair is always messy, curling at the tips and falling in front of his eyes, being cut just beneath his ears (partially obscuring the earrings he’s got in his right: lobe, anti-tragus and industrial). He’d like to dye part of it once that’s possible - red or green are the current favourite shades - but wants the colour to compliment his deep hazel eyes. Tattoos and piercings are also highly valued by him, envying his brother who’s got several of both, and he has considered breaking the rules somehow. Aesthetically he takes unusual inspiration from Hydrogen, going for unusual and somewhat trippy patterns that are prominent in his beloved shell jacket, having studded it with pins and badges over the years. It’s a hard one to emulate but he’s up to the challenge.

Both he and his brother were adopted by their mother’s, this student having been born in Zhuhai, [name_f]China[/name_f], and he has begun to find international history appeals to him more. He’s read a lot of Chinese literature and can speak it fluently, as his parents ensured he could always access this part of his culture - resulting in him displaying a surprising talent for cookery, as food was the first thing he really engaged with. Right now, he’s learning Mandarin amidst his trips out: opting to practice parkour with his friends, or trying the odd bit of urban exploration. The meeting of abandonment and suburbia fascinates him in particular, leading to him also starting to explore photography - although only a select few are allowed to see his snaps as of now.

The next guy is Jewish. He is Hugo’s next door neighbour and lives in a house similar to his – it is three-storey and contains a big garden , but there is also an attic involved which has been largely unused by the family up until recently. The guy lived with his maternal grandparents who both died – his nana as early as [name_u]June[/name_u] 2021 due to COVID complications, while his grandpa passed away in 2018 after a battle with prostate cancer. The loss is something that greatly affected him. He has been struggling with depression and anxiety ever since. He now has a therapy dog called [name_f]Pixie[/name_f] who is a [name_m]Black[/name_m] and [name_m]Tan[/name_m] Shetland Sheepdog. She is not only the guy’s best friend, but she’s also professionally trained to help with anxiety attacks and is allowed in school if the guy’s mom , [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] , notifies one day beforehand. [name_f]Pixie[/name_f] also has an Instagram and Youtube account where the guys posts pictures and funny moments with her, as well as talks about the experience of having a therapy dog from her perspective. He hopes it helps other people with anxiety to be informed about their rights to bring the dog with them , as well as helps combat the myth that only the blind need trained animals for help.
He sometimes calls [name_f]Pixie[/name_f] “ my baby” jokingly , but recently found out that apart from being a doggo dad, he’s also going to be an uncle – his older sister [name_f]Shifra[/name_f] and her husband [name_m]Nadav[/name_m] are expecting twin girls! The girls’ names will be [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Nera[/name_f] and [name_f]Avianna[/name_f] [name_f]Shalhevet[/name_f]. The first names honor places where the parents were born – Redholm [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and Tel [name_u]Aviv[/name_u] respectively. The middles are there to commemorate the Hanukkah season in which the girls are meant to be born, as they both are connected in meaning to light in some manner. Shifra’s pregnancy is the reason why the house’s attic has been used – it effectively became a room for the baby girls, filled with pink and frilly things, as well as many parenting gadgets. The guy is glad to live with [name_f]Shifra[/name_f] and [name_m]Nadav[/name_m] as well as excited to become an uncle. He kind of regrets that the young couple’s end goal is to move to [name_u]Israel[/name_u] and live there permanently. He feels like the house is not as empty and filled with a lot more warmth now that everyone is excited to welcome little [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Avianna[/name_f]. However, he respects the couple’s decision to live in Haifa – knowing that it’s the place where they got to know each other. [name_f]Shifra[/name_f] met [name_m]Nadav[/name_m] while on a trip to [name_u]Israel[/name_u]. She decided to go there because she was tired of working as a travel agent in Liverpool and sending people off on holidays while not having any herself. She, on the other hand, didn’t want the trip to be only for relaxation and decided that [name_u]Israel[/name_u] is the perfect place to form a stronger connection with her religion of Judaism. Now, the 24-year old is more than happy to have gone there – she found not only a way to reconnect with spirituality, but also the love of her life.
This guy is kind of jealous of Shifra’s picture perfect love and family life , only now discovering how much he would like to have a love interest of his own. He, however, is very shy and doesn’t find it particularly easy to talk to people of the opposite gender. When he reached out to his neighbour [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] , the only information that he got was the fact that [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is also struggling to open up about his feelings towards [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. This guy was very grateful to his friend that he trusted him enough to reveal that piece of mind. They went on to play soccer together and brought their pets to Hugo’s house – [name_f]Pixie[/name_f] is good friends with [name_f]Kassiani[/name_f] and the complete disconfirmation of the idiom “fight like a cat and dog”.
Not wanting to focus too much on having a girlfriend , as well as trying not to become overwhelmed with the hectic family life, this guy finds his escape in three things – studying, music and fashion. He wants to ace his GSCE’s and often listens to jazz music while sitting with his nose in the book. His grandpa was the one who really made him love jazz music – from [name_f]Amy[/name_f] Winehouse to [name_m]Frank[/name_m] Sinatra. While researching Sinatra’s career , he found out that the famous singer was the most popular in the 40s and 50s. Sinatra was also an activist for Jewish causes in a time filled with anti-Jewish propaganda and hate, which makes the guy appreciate him beyond artistic contributions. His favourite Sinatra song is “Fly Me To The Moon”.
He began finding out more about the fashion of the 40s and 50s a while ago. He found its elements which suit him – he has a black bomber jacket with sew-on badges in the shape of brown paws. They symbolize the friendship he has with [name_f]Pixie[/name_f]. He also wears aviator glasses in metal frames and uses pomade to keep his hair stylized in a way that is typical for early 1940s in [name_u]America[/name_u]. He realises some may find it a bit comical , but really likes that look because he thinks it goes really well both with his casual clothing and the school uniform.
