Name to honor grandmothers

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have picked [name_f]Ann[/name_f] for a first name, in honor of my 2 grandmothers who both have [name_f]Ann[/name_f] for a middle name. We’d like the middle name to be after my husband’s grandmothers but are having a hard time finding a fit from [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f].

We are looking for combinations of names (like Maelyn, but we don’t think that fits with [name_f]Ann[/name_f]), variations, or names with similar meanings (like [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] means “white ring” and [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f] is a flower so we were looking for names that mean “white flower” but only found [name_f]Blodwyn[/name_f], which isn’t a good fit for us.). Would love any ideas, thanks in advance!

OK. This is hard!

Would you consider giving your daughter 2 middle names?

If so, how about:

[name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]? I think it has a nice ring to it and you can get away with both as [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is very short.

If you don’t want to use the exact names, however, I would suggest perhaps using the initials:

[name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]

I think Maelyn could work with [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_f]Ann[/name_f] Maelyn sounds fine to me.

Good luck!

Ann_____: honoring [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]:

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you know the months each grandmother was born in. [name_u]January[/name_u] could be [name_f]Janelle[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] could be [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]October[/name_f] could be [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_u]November[/name_u] could be [name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_f]Novalie[/name_f], but I think you need two middles to honor both women. Does anyone know what their favorite color, flower, or bird or animal was? A place they liked to vacation?

[name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]

[name_f]Mae[/name_f] + [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] could give you [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] + [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] could give you [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] (or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], but I’m guessing with a one syllable first name you’re looking for a multi syllable middle)

Or what about [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]? It’s botanical, like [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f], but symbolizes [name_f]Victory[/name_f], for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

I’d go w/[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f].

Edited for privacy.

if you are aiming for meaning white flower: [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
or simply pick a generally white flower: [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] / [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_m]Both[/name_m] options are great with [name_f]Ann[/name_f]

Some names I’ve come up with combining the two:

[name_f]Maeva[/name_f]
[name_f]Myria[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Vita[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]

That’s a good idea, 2 middle names could definitely work! I do like the combinations, and I like the initial idea too.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] looking at your signature- my son is [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) after his grandfathers

[name_m]Just[/name_m] an idea the name [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] means white and I was going to suggest it as a middle but [name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] is silly so I suggest [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] [name_u]Wynn[/name_u].

I love those ideas! [name_m]Just[/name_m] after I wrote this I thought of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], which I’ve always loved, but do [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] instead

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] combo!

I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]!

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] sounds like a winner to me, lovely.
