We’re expecting our little one any day now and still can’t come up with a name for her! Her big sis is [name]Alaina[/name] ([name]Lainey[/name]). We love the name [name]Elise[/name], although I feel that the two are quite similar and wish we didn’t like the name so much. Are they too similar? What are some names that sound good with [name]Alaina[/name]/[name]Lainey[/name] otherwise?
I also posted this on the sib set forum. I’d love some more feedback! Thanks in advance for your wonderful opinions and suggestions!
They are definately similar (vowels and l sounds) but not matchy matchy and [name]Alaina[/name] ends in a and [name]Elise[/name] ise. i honestly dont think its a bad sibset! [name]Alaina[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] or [name]Lainey[/name] and [name]Ellie[/name] or [name]Lainie[/name] and Leesy etc.
I pronounce [name]Elise[/name] il-ees like il rhymes with ill and ees ryhmes with fleece.
its a pretty name!
I dont know what else to suggest sorry but just wanted to let you know i dont think its too similar! not like [name]Alaina[/name] and [name]Alannah[/name] haha
Unfortunately, they share an identical starting syllable, and if you nickname [name]Elise[/name] ‘[name]Ellie[/name]’ things would get even more muddled
I pronounce [name]Alaina[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] with different starting sounds (al vs el) and I think while they’re similar, they’re not too close to comfort. They end differently and are spelt differently, [name]Elena[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] would be a different matter. If it bothers you, why not go for [name]Elisabeth[/name] nn [name]Elise[/name] or something?
Thank you for your suggestions! [name]Camille[/name] was actually one of our top three! ([name]Audrey[/name] is/was the other.) We just know we’d shorten it somehow and weren’t sure about [name]Cami[/name] or [name]Millie[/name]. Maybe [name]Cam[/name]? Any other thoughts on [name]Camille[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name]?
I agree that [name]Elise[/name] it too similar to [name]Alaina[/name]. I really like [name]Camille[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name], they’re both beautiful, girly names. My favorite is [name]Audrey[/name] though. I like [name]Millie[/name] as a nickname better.
