Name too weird?

I recently ran across the name [name_m]Iver[/name_m] and I am really liking it. I have a feeling everyone is going to give me grief about it being so unusual though. Anyone think this name is too unusual? Think he will get picked on/made fun of for it? Anyone know someone with this name? [name_f]Do[/name_f] they like it? I am having the HARDEST time deciding on a name

I like it!

[name_m]Iver[/name_m] is one of my favorite names!

The great thing about [name_m]Iver[/name_m] is that it may be unusual, but it’s not hard to pronounce. I don’t know anyone with the name [name_m]Iver[/name_m], but I think it’s a pretty awesome name
As far as getting picked on, I don’t think that will be an issue. There are lots of unusual names around, so little [name_m]Iver[/name_m] would definitely not be the odd one out! I can’t think of any negative rhymes or teasing nicknames either. Good luck deciding!

I really like it, it reminds me of the band bon iver and in turn the french for winter; ‘hiver’. It has all the strength of [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] but is softer, definitely a winner! Plus, as someone else said, it’s unusual but not hard to say or spell. All round winner!

I’m not a fan. I do think it’s a bit odd. I much prefer [name_m]Ivan[/name_m].

Interesting name! Unusual not outlandish, in the uk this is a place name, sounds like [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], [name_m]Ivor[/name_m], [name_m]Iain[/name_m], with familiar er ending. If you love it go for it !

Like @willow_carter said I think of the [name_m]French[/name_m] hiver were the h is silent. I feel it’s a perfectly useable name.

I think I think that, while, unusual, sounds familiar, so I don’t think it would cause many pronunciation and spelling problems. Plus, there is Bon [name_m]Iver[/name_m]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t stress yourself, you’ll find THE name!

I think it’s okay. Go for it if you love it!

I like it.
It sounds like it’s a nn for [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], but I can see it standing alone as its own name as well!
And as pps have said, there’s the singer Bon [name_m]Iver[/name_m] so, it’s really not that strange to me.

I thought of Bon [name_m]Iver[/name_m] straight away! It’s similar to [name_u]Ever[/name_u] so it certainly could work as a name.

While unusual, not hard to pronounce, so I think it’s definitely usable!
