I am due in just a few weeks with a brother for sisters: removing their names as I have many wonderful suggestions now
We are having an incredibly difficult time coming up with a name that we love as much as the girls. We don’t even have a general idea so far and we are running out of time. Eeek!
Any thoughts on boy (or gender neutral) names with a similar vibe? We really gravitate toward nature and word names but nothing overly popular like [name_u]River[/name_u] & [name_u]Forest[/name_u].
I love R’s name as well. Never heard it used before but it is interesting and fresh feeling. Could work for either gender and I am adding it to my list, so thank you!
How about…
Bravery ( nn [name_u]Brave[/name_u])
[name_f]Virtue[/name_f] ( nn [name_u]True[/name_u] maybe?)
[name_u]Canyon[/name_u]
[name_u]Oak[/name_u]
[name_u]Valor[/name_u]
[name_m]Stone[/name_m]
[name_u]Mars[/name_u]
[name_u]Nova[/name_u]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_m]Bear[/name_m]
[name_u]Fox[/name_u]
[name_m]Fielder[/name_m] ( nn [name_m]Field[/name_m])
[name_u]Honor[/name_u]
[name_u]Rain[/name_u]
[name_u]Cypress[/name_u]
[name_m]Zeppelin[/name_m] is very cool but we just had a friend name her baby [name_m]Zeppelin[/name_m] a few months back. So unfortunately that’s off the table bummer cause I like it.
I think [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] sounds great with your girl names, but I understand if you wouldn’t want to use it since it’s close to the nn Row. Other nature boy names I like:
[name_u]Ash[/name_u]
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u]
[name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u]
[name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u] or [name_m]Koda[/name_m]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_m]Leif[/name_m]
[name_m]Bear[/name_m]
I also love the name [name_m]Octavius[/name_m] with your names, though it’s not a nature related name. Also sorry for any repeats!
@bluecurry - [name_m]Ah[/name_m] man! Well, hopefully another will catch your eye! I thought of a couple more that I don’t see mentioned yet…
Fielding
Ashland
[name_m]Oakland[/name_m]
Luray
[name_u]August[/name_u] or [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] with nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u]
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u]
[name_u]Brook[/name_u] (as a kid, I had no idea [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] was a girl name because a boy childhood friend was named this)
[name_u]Sky[/name_u]
[name_u]Skyler[/name_u] or [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] (pronounced the same way, it may look odd, but it’s inspired by a quaint town in [name_f]Virginia[/name_f])
[name_m]Elwood[/name_m]
[name_m]Elio[/name_m]
Thing is, you don’t actually have to come up with a name you love as much as your daughters’ names. It’s normal to love the names of the children you’ve actually met more than the idea of a name which isn’t yet attached to your child. It’s also completely normal to find girls names easier to love than boys names and vice versa. Names chosen because of meaning and significance or because both parents found agreement are just as good as names chosen simply because they loved them. With all that said, I hope you find some names you actually feel good about using!
Here are some suggestions I haven’t seen mentioned that I feel share a similar vibe to your daughter’s names: [name_u]Sterling[/name_u], [name_u]March[/name_u], [name_u]Beacon[/name_u], [name_u]Quill[/name_u], [name_u]Solace[/name_u], [name_u]Hale[/name_u], [name_u]Lyric[/name_u], [name_m]Moss[/name_m], [name_u]Glade[/name_u], [name_u]Noble[/name_u], [name_m]Prosper[/name_m], [name_m]Link[/name_m] and [name_m]Fate[/name_m]
I looove your girls’ names! They give me kind of Puritan-word-names-with-a-21st-century-spin vibes.
For their brother, how about:
[name_m]Anchor[/name_m]
[name_m]Chosen[/name_m]
[name_u]Concord[/name_u]
Creedence
[name_u]Harbor[/name_u]
[name_u]Harvest[/name_u] (I have a super crush on this name right now)
[name_u]Palmer[/name_u]
[name_m]Prosper[/name_m]
[name_m]Ransom[/name_m]
[name_u]Revere[/name_u]
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
