I am looking for a name for a character in a retelling of Sleeping Beauty. I thought that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would work, but I am looking for some other options. What would Sleeping Beauty’s name be in a futuristic version?

Hmm…[name_f]Rose[/name_f] seems kind of boring,tbh.It’s not a bad name,but it’s kind of expected.
They’re aren’t many female names having to do with sleep,but [name_f]Narcissa[/name_f] and it’s variants possibly come from a Greek root meaning sleep or numbnes.It probably isn’t the best option for obvious reasons,though.
[name_f]Aisling[/name_f] means dream,so I think it’s a good fit.[name_f]Ashling[/name_f] is the more phonetic spelling.
I probably wasn’t much help,but I hope I at least gave you some ideas.

You could do [name_f]Aisling[/name_f] or [name_f]Ashling[/name_f] and call her [name_u]Ash[/name_u] or [name_f]Roseanne[/name_f] and call her either [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f], or [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] like the other posters said, or even [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] and call her [name_u]Sam[/name_u] or [name_u]Sammy[/name_u].

I second [name_f]Briar[/name_f], since that was Sleeping Beauty’s name given to her by the fairies I think… You could do a rose variation or maybe [name_f]Bryony[/name_f]/[name_f]Briony[/name_f]?
I read a modern retelling of Sleeping Beauty and her name was [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Brier[/name_f] so it’s better if you don’t use [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
