I’m currently 21 weeks pregnant and it’s a girl. Our first baby! My all time favorite name has always been [name]Isabella[/name]. I’m 28 yrs old and have loved this name ever since i can remember. I have two cousins with the name [name]Isabella[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t want to be the third in the family with an [name]Isabella[/name]… They live states away and I dont see them. Only on special occasions. I was thinking instead of [name]Isabella[/name] - what about [name]Sabella[/name]???
To be honest all you have done is removed the ‘I’ so it’s still practically the same. If you adore [name]Isabella[/name] and it’s the only name you can see your daughter being then use it or else you might regret it. If you don’t see them it’s not really an issue, plus, it’s very likely she’ll be sharing her name with others in her class. It’s a very popular name and therefore you kinda have to take the popularity on board and accept that she will share her name whether it be family or friends, I don’t think it matters. I know cousins named [name]Sam[/name] and [name]Samantha[/name], [name]Daniel[/name] and [name]Danielle[/name] and they get on just fine and they actually see each other!
[name]How[/name] about [name]Annabella[/name] or [name]Arabella[/name]?
I honestly like [name]Isabetta[/name] and [name]Isabeau[/name] even more than [name]Isabella[/name]! [name]Hope[/name] you find something that you like!
Congratulations, and sorry to hear that your favorite name is twice taken in your family! [name]Sabella[/name] is not my style. I think it sounds just like [name]Isabella[/name] with a silent I. I prefer [name]Sabine[/name], which is admittedly pretty different. My favorite variation on [name]Isabel[/name] is [name]Ysabel[/name]. Other names with similarly romantic feeling:
[name]Arabella[/name]
[name]Serafina[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name]
[name]Isolde[/name]
[name]Mirabelle[/name]
If you love [name]Isabella[/name], I think you should use it. Maybe ask your cousins first if it’s ok with them? [name]Sabella[/name] is pretty too. Other suggestions: [name]Isabel[/name], [name]Isobel[/name], [name]Maribel[/name], [name]Mirabella[/name].
This might be unconventional advice, but if I really, really loved a name, I would first talk to my family members who have the name and see if they would mind, then if they didn’t (they probably wouldn’t–especially since they live states away and you never see them) I would use it. Who knows, they might even be honored to be namesakes.
I’m not crazy about Sabella, it feels more like a compromise from a name you love that doesnt really hold up.
Do you like Sybella? Very similar to Sabella but feels a little more like it’s own separate name, to me at least.
If you live in different areas and dont see them all the time, I dont see why you couldnt use Isabella! Maybe give them a heads up before you shout it from the rooftops, but I don’t think it should be a dealbreaker if that’s the name you love. Do your cousins both go by Isabella or Bella/Izzy/etc…?
Other thoughts:
Isabel/Isabelle
Mirabella
Arabella
Gabriella
Sable
If you really love a name, you should use it. I am sure your family won’t mind, particularly as they don’t live nearby so day-to-day confusion is unlikely!
Here are some other similar names to kick around if you are uncomfortable tho. Good luck and congratulations!
I agree with the others–while [name]Isabella[/name] is lovely, [name]Sabella[/name] is just lacking to me. Have you considered [name]Sybella[/name]? It’s a form of [name]Sybil[/name], it sort of combines [name]Isabella[/name]'s glamor and sweetness with [name]Sybil[/name]'s vintagey-goodness. Definitely unusual, but still a lovely [name]Bella[/name] name. I really love [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], and [name]Mirabelle[/name], too, though… there are so many great [name]Belle[/name] names, it’s hard to go wrong.
Use [name]Isabella[/name] it is very pretty name! That is wy is so popular! And don’t worry about your family, I think they will be honor!! I am [name]Ivonne[/name] and we have 3 [name]Ivonne[/name] in our family,.and I don’t mind, I said use it , they will be fine, and don’t worrie, use it good lock, and congratulations!
I agree with everyone here: If you love it, use it.
With that being said, [name]Isabeau[/name] is a fresh but refined alternative, infinitely cooler than [name]Isabella[/name], and much more rare.
When [name]Isabeau[/name] pronounces her name, after the “[name]Isa[/name]-” start, they’ll await the standard “-bella” finish, only to be swept away by the stunning “-beau” instead
I don’t like [name]Sabella[/name]. It seems incomplete. I would suggest [name]Elizabella[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Isobel[/name], [name]Bella[/name] or [name]Ella[/name].
