Nameberry popular list distorted by international opinions?

[name]Do[/name] you think the reason the most popular Nameberry names are different from National choices is because the statistics are distorted by foreign opinions? Lots of these posts are from people outside of the States, like me.

It’s an interesting and possibly valid hypothesis, but I think it probably has more to do with people (not matter where they come from) who have similar taste in names being drawn to this site. There are A LOT of baby name websites out there and I think this one simply draws people who are interested in similar types of names.

I think international influence might have something to do with it but I agree with the above poster. The people who give feedback on this site are generally pretty well-versed when it comes to naming and are drawn to less common, often older and more bold choices when it comes to naming a child. You won’t find a lot of people recommending popular names like [name]Aiden[/name] or [name]Madison[/name] here simply because I think most people here wouldn’t give their children those names due to popularity therefore you get a lot of more interesting, uncommon names. I’m American and my favorites are quite uncommon so I think it has more to do with the shared taste of the people who post here.

Also I was wondering about the age demographic of Nameberry bloggers - they seem relatively young?
