Nameberry vs SSA top 10, 2021

Thought I’d show some comparisons, since I always find it interesting! What are your thoughts?

SSA ~ NAMEBERRY

  1. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] … [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] … [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] … [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
  4. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] … [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
  5. [name_f]Ava[/name_f] … [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
  6. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] … [name_u]Esme[/name_u]
  7. [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] … [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
  8. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] … [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
  9. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] … [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
  10. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] … [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]

Only [name_f]Ava[/name_f] featuring on both! I am rather surprised [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] topped the SSA but not also Nameberry; I find I see it mentioned a lot on the site.

I’m surprised to see [name_f]Ava[/name_f] in our top 10! I feel like I hardly ever see her around the forums

Me too!!

And I agree with @futuremama Ava surprises me because it doesn’t feel very NB. I feel like I see Eva, Eve or Ada more!

I was super surprised by Evelyn when I compiled NB’s first quarter top names recently. It’s not even in the NB Top 100 for Jan-Mar this year!

I’m not a huge fan of either list, to be honest. These names are all lovely, lilting, mostly on the longer side. I prefer my girl names short and punchy, and not too conventionally “pretty”, with some spikier sounds than these. I do like Esme :heartpulse:
