Named after anything?

when my parents were naming us we were all named after professional athletes
[name]Jordan[/name] - [name]Micheal[/name] [name]Jordan[/name]
[name]Montana[/name] - [name]Joe[/name] [name]Montana[/name]
[name]Tyson[/name] - [name]Mike[/name] [name]Tyson[/name]
[name]Clay[/name] - Cassias [name]Clay[/name]

So I was wondering if anyone was named after someone such as a family member or athlete?

I’m [name]Michaila[/name] after my dad [name]Michael[/name]. It’s a good thing I’m not [name]Michaela[/name] because he’s [name]Michael[/name] [name]Allan[/name]. There’s enough confusion between stuff in the mail for [name]MICHAILA[/name] and [name]MICHAEL[/name] A. [name]Imagine[/name] if we were [name]MICHAELA[/name] and [name]MICHAEL[/name] A. My middle name is [name]Christine[/name] because I was born near [name]Christmas[/name].
My sister is Kerilyn [name]Elizabeth[/name]- middle name is my mother’s first name, and her first name is a version of my Grandma [name]Carolyn[/name], only with Irish spelling to appease my Grandma [name]Susie[/name]. She was going to be Kerilyn [name]Susan[/name], but Kerilyn [name]Elizabeth[/name] rolled out of my mom’s mouth when she was born. My grandma wasn’t overly pleased…but she got over it.

Nope. My parent’s just thought [name]Michelle[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] was a pretty combo which it is.

Well in my family, there were huge naming conflicts (my dad would last minute change our names against mom’s wishes, in most cases) but my mom was the one who ‘thought of’ our names…

I am [name]Alyssa[/name] [name]Danielle[/name], because my mom would always watch Who’s the [name]Boss[/name] and loved [name]Alyssa[/name] [name]Milano[/name]'s character…[name]Danielle[/name] just got thrown in because it sounded nice… but i’m glad to be an [name]Alyssa[/name] because knowing the tv character (mom used [name]Alyssa[/name] because we already had a dog named after the actual character, [name]Samantha[/name]), made her laugh, during her tough circumstances is so sweet:)

As for my other siblings (from my dad and mom):

[name]Louis[/name] [name]Christopher[/name] - first name after our dad, middle name was something to do with dad’s side being Catholic…
[name]Amanda[/name] [name]Nicole[/name] - not really sure where this came from other than it sounded good with our Italian last name
[name]Joanna[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - mom heard of a little girl named joanna, when she was pregnant with her, and liked it…[name]Marie[/name] comes from most of our female cousins sharing this middle name too.

From stepdad and mom:
[name]Macayla[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]- i think mom heard this name babysitting, and chose this spelling because my stepdad couldn’t remember how to pronounce it using the [name]Michaela[/name] spelling.

My step sister is named [name]Jayne[/name], but idk where that came from at all.

Our parents weren’t at all concerned with making a ‘perfect sibset’, plus with being such a blended family with hard circumstances, they basically just chose names at random… I’m sort of glad our names don’t really “match” or are after a specific theme but my dad did try to push for us to be named after car models, so yeah, we got lucky there!

[name]Holden[/name], my middle name, is after my grandfather. He was a great man and I’m pretty honored to have his name.

That’s really how my parents picked all my siblings’ names, too-choose a family name and slap something random in front of it.

My mum saw my first name, [name]Zelia[/name], in some credits to a film (to this day, I have no idea which one) and my middle name, [name]Elvira[/name], was my great-grandmother’s middle name. My family was shocked that she gave me my great-grandmother’s middle name, they strongly believed that she would have given me her first name, [name]Laura[/name], instead. She also considered naming me [name]Robin[/name], because the European [name]Robin[/name] is her favourite bird, or [name]Selma[/name] which was my great-great-grandmother’s name.

[name]Emma[/name] is popular, trendy and every second girl is [name]Emma[/name]. Like me.
I was named after the trendies.

Nope. My parents didn’t name my sister or me after anyone, although I share my middle name with my great-great-grandfather.

My cousin [name]Laura[/name] was named after [name]Laura[/name] Ingalls [name]Wilder[/name].

I’m named after that dude in the Bible who was supposedly the first man ever, and in love with a lady named [name]Eve[/name]. You know, the dude whose name is always used in those clever “it’s [name]Adam[/name] and [name]Eve[/name], not [name]Adam[/name] and [name]Steve[/name]!!” arguments.

Realistically I think my parents just really liked the name [name]Adam[/name]. We weren’t a religious family.

Sure. My brother insists that I was named after [name]Gina[/name] on [name]Miami[/name] Vice. My middle name is [name]Danielle[/name] after my dad’s middle, [name]Daniel[/name]. My brother got [name]Daniel[/name] as a middle and my sister and my mom share [name]Lynn[/name] as a middle.
