[name]Hi[/name] all
We’re having another baby:) Here are our top picks. Thoughts? Our son is named [name]Kai[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Bain[/name]. [name]Both[/name] my husband and I have Scottish/Welsh origin which is why [name]Ronan[/name] is the boy pick. [name]Solenne[/name] is just a favorite of ours for some time. Want to make sure the names are a balance of different but not trying too hard and names that won’t be trendy now and out of style 20 years from now.
Girl:
[name]Solenne[/name] McLaurin [name]Bain[/name]
Nickname: [name]Leni[/name] or [name]Lola[/name]?
I love [name]Ronan[/name] for a boy. However, I dislike the flow of [name]Ronan[/name] [name]John[/name] [name]Bain[/name] because they all end in -en. [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Jude[/name] [name]Bain[/name] would be lovely.
[name]Solenne[/name] is fine but I prefer [name]Solana[/name] nn [name]Lana[/name] or [name]Soleil[/name]. Maybe you would like a Scottish name for a girl? There are some lovely ones: [name]Alison[/name], [name]Elspeth[/name], [name]Leslie[/name], [name]Isobel[/name], [name]Islay[/name]? And Welsh: [name]Meredith[/name], [name]Winifred[/name], [name]Ceridwen[/name](this would be lovely if she is born in winter), [name]Gwendolyn[/name], [name]Seren[/name].
If you go with [name]Solenne[/name], I prefer [name]Leni[/name] as a nickname. [name]Lola[/name] doesn’t appeal to me and is popular but itself while [name]Leni[/name] is fresh and sweet. I am not so sure about [name]Solenne[/name] McLaurin because you said you don’t want a trendy name and McLaurin sounds like you are trying hard to fit in [name]Mckenzie[/name]/[name]Mckayla[/name] trend. I say use it if you really like it or it has special meaning.
Should have mentioned [name]John[/name] is my fathers name and McLaurin is my grandmothers maiden name so it has a lot of meaning to us – these aren’t optional. Pretty much decided.
I like [name]Solenne[/name] over [name]Soleil[/name] or the other names you mention. But of course it’s pretty darn subjective. Thanks for the preference of [name]Leni[/name]. I agree.
Congratulations! I love [name]Kai[/name] [name]David[/name], very handsome. [name]Kai[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name] would make a fabulous sibling set. I really like [name]Ronan[/name] [name]John[/name]. I do not think the names ending in the same letter is an issue at all. I feel what is important for a name is that it is special and meaningful for those creating the name. Though I am not a fan of [name]Solenne[/name] McLaurin personally, I still feel it is a nice combo. I think I lean toward the nickname [name]Lola[/name].
[name]Love[/name] the booy named [name]Ronan[/name] [name]John[/name]! It is really handsome. I like [name]Solenne[/name] McLaurin for a girl with the preference of [name]Leni[/name] for a nn.
Thanks all. So other girls name that I love are [name]Zoe[/name] and Nora but I’m afraid [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] are becoming way too popular (have multiple neighborhood acquaintances who have used these names – so they’re becoming less desirable to us) I also love the [name]Claudia[/name] McLaurin but [name]Claudia[/name] means lame:(
Lastly, I love the nickname [name]Annie[/name], dislike [name]Anne[/name]. Can you all think of a name that is different but not too different that could have a nickname of [name]Annie[/name]?
[name]Ronan[/name] [name]John[/name] is excellent. I’m a fan of [name]Ronan[/name]. [name]Solenne[/name] I’m not too sure about, although I love the use of your grandmother’s maiden name in the middle spot.
What do you think of [name]Annora[/name] or [name]Annika[/name] to get to [name]Annie[/name]?
I think [name]Solenne[/name] is beautiful, but when paired with McLaurin it’s too L-N heavy.
[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Sunniva[/name]? It means “sun-gift” and she was a half-mythical saint kidnapped from the British isles by the Vikings, whom she later partially Christianized. Interesting backstory and a very pretty, unusual name. I think [name]Sunniva[/name] McLaurin works very well.
