Names defined by the 90s?

I know that there are some names that are popular in the 1920s, etc but I just wondered if there are any names that when you hear them you think of the 90s?

Additions

[name_f]Jessica[/name_f]
[name_f]Brittany[/name_f]

[name_m]Christopher[/name_m]
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]

[name_f]Brittany[/name_f] is the first thing that came to mind seeing the thread title. I know a ton and they all seem to be right in the early twenties age range.

[name_u]Ashley[/name_u] was what I was thinking so I’m glad you said that  And [name_f]Brittany[/name_f] too!

In the UK, we have a programme called; “[name_f]My[/name_f] mad fat diary” and it’s set in the 1990s so that’s what got me thinking!

The main characters names are; [name_u]Rae[/name_u], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_m]Archie[/name_m]? There’s also a [name_m]Liam[/name_m] too? The only ones that I thought were 90s were [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_m]Liam[/name_m] (aka [name_m]Gallagher[/name_m])

Thanks guys

[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]
[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] (and variants)
[name_f]Amber[/name_f]

[name_m]David[/name_m]
[name_m]Mike[/name_m]

No one has said [name_m]Brandon[/name_m]. I know like 5 Brandons! Very 90’s :stuck_out_tongue:

Also [name_u]Kyle[/name_u], know a few of those.

Mostly repeats, but these are from my UK experience of the 90s:

[name_f]Megan[/name_f]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Danielle[/name_f]
[name_u]Chelsea[/name_u]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_f]Nicole[/name_f]
[name_u]Jodie[/name_u]
[name_u]Courtney[/name_u]

[name_m]Joshua[/name_m]
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u]
[name_u]Jordan[/name_u]
[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]
[name_u]Bradley[/name_u]
[name_u]Kyle[/name_u]

^ These seem very dated to the 1990s to me. Other ones mentioned (like [name_m]David[/name_m], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] etc) were popular but don’t make me immediately think of that decade.

[name_m]Austin[/name_m] and [name_u]Tyler[/name_u]! I know so many!

[name_f]Jessica[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] (though that name is pretty popular in all decades)
[name_f]Rachel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_u]Shelby[/name_u]
[name_f]Nicole[/name_f]
[name_f]Brittany[/name_f]
[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]
[name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]
[name_u]Stacy[/name_u]
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f]

[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_m]Joshua[/name_m] (though still popular to use)
[name_u]Chase[/name_u]

Those are the ones that first popped into my head.

I think [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] is much more of an 80s name than 90s name, but I suppose it depends a lot on where you live.

I heartily agree on [name_f]Brittany[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] – very 90s!

I would like to add [name_u]Kelsey[/name_u] and all of its spellings. Also, this seems to be the decade of all the Katelynns, Katelyns, Caitlins, etc.

A few more that came to mind:

  1. [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] for a boy – it was still a boys’ name in the 90s!

  2. [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] – I know several boys named [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] who were born in the 90s. I think their mothers all had crushes on [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] Rossdale.

Here is the SSA list for the 1990s Top names of the 1990s ! It is so very 90’s(for the US at least!

I also want to add [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] for guys and girls. Knew a few growing up.And then theres also celebrities like [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Swift, [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Lautner, [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Momsen who were born in that time frame.

I think it depends on where you live, girls names [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] remind more of the 2000’s and I’ve only recently met [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]'s. It wasn’t so big when I was growing up in the 90’s, [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] was still a male name, and he was joined with [name_m]Adam[/name_m]'s, [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]'s, [name_f]Amy[/name_f]'s, [name_u]Jamie[/name_u]'s (both girls and boys) [name_f]Jade[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f].

You guys nailed it. [name_f]Kayla[/name_f], [name_f]Kyla[/name_f] (and variations), [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_f]Breanna[/name_f] (and variations), and stuff like [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_u]Skylar[/name_u], ect feel really 90s too. Did someone say [name_f]Megan[/name_f] & [name_f]Alison[/name_f]? I also randomly had a few girls called [name_f]Candace[/name_f] in my school.

Has anyone said [name_f]Laura[/name_f]?
That’s the first name I thought of.
Also [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] (even though I wasn’t born in the 90s I think it was maybe even more popular then)
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] definitely although it is still pretty popular, same with [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Holly[/name_f], [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f].
Also [name_f]Kirsty[/name_f] and [name_f]Kirsten[/name_f].
[name_f]Siobhan[/name_f] also seems like a very 90s name to me.

For boys [name_u]Kyle[/name_u], [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], [name_m]Ewan[/name_m], [name_m]Gregor[/name_m], [name_u]Michael[/name_u] (aslo very 80s to me), [name_m]Sean[/name_m] and [name_m]Gareth[/name_m] (maybe)

I am a [name_f]Taylor[/name_f] born in the 90s, and this is 100% accurate.

These are the other ones I think of:
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Danielle[/name_f]
[name_u]Paige[/name_u]
[name_f]Carly[/name_f]
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f]
[name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
[name_f]Kristy[/name_f]
[name_f]Rachael[/name_f]
[name_f]Brittany[/name_f]
[name_f]Courtney[/name_f]
[name_f]Megan[/name_f]

[name_m]Joshua[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_u]Michael[/name_u] (although it’s always popular)
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Aaron[/name_m]
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u]
[name_m]Mitchell[/name_m]
[name_m]Logan[/name_m]

I’d have to say [name_f]Kate[/name_f]/[name_f]Katie[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. I know sooooo many! I was born in 1991, and we had about 4 [name_f]Katie[/name_f]'s in every class. I know about 7 [name_f]Katie[/name_f]'s or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]'s now who are 21-23.
