We’re welcoming baby #2 in the next few months, and while we are keeping gender a surprise, we are struggling with our boy options and would greatly appreciate all suggestions! Generally we like classic names but hopefully not incredibly popular; we find ourselves looking at lists of top 100 names in the 1800/early 1900s often!
First child is [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Wood[/name_m], but goes by nickname [name_m]Augie[/name_m] (rhymes with doggie). Last name is a solid Irish surname starting with M, so don’t necessarily want a strong Irish first name. If it’s a girl, she’ll be [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] Tipling (nn will be [name_u]Georgie[/name_u]). Both middle names Tipling and [name_m]Wood[/name_m] are family names. The only boy name we have on our list that we can agree upon is [name_m]George[/name_m] Tipling, but we’re just not 100% sold.
Other names we like but either can’t agree upon or have recently been used by friends/family: [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Leopold[/name_m], [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]William[/name_m].
Bonus points: I also have a thing for double vowels (‘au’ in [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], ‘eo’ in [name_m]George[/name_m], ‘ia’ in [name_m]William[/name_m]), but this isn’t a deal breaker.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
