So, I need help. I’m writing a novel that takes place in an alternate medieval-fantasy universe. The human characters all have rather classic names ([name]Charlie[/name], [name]George[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], etc.) but naming conventions are different for the many other races. For example, my main female character is an elf named Medlindes, which I found on a name generator, while the fairies all have names taken from nature ([name]Azalea[/name], Breccia), and I just made up the names of our wizards.
Right now I’m stuck on what to name my siren. She’s beautiful and seductive, and at first appears to be a friendly, flirty and helpful human. However, once our main character figures out what she is, she reveals her true, bird-like form and tries to kill him, as the sirens have allied with the Big Bad. In adittion to her bird-form, she also sings a powerful song that preys on your dreams and desires and draws you towards her.
I have absolutely no idea what to name this girl. I thought of using bird names as a clue to her true race, but that seems both too obvious and a bit out of place. I’ve tried just making up a name, but nothing sounds right. I’d like a fantasy-sounding name, maybe with some connection to birds or music, and preferably something short, only 1 or 2-syllables.
Thanks for any help you can give me!
