Time for another LavenderWitch aesthetic! > **Recap** > > I was having a really difficult time with my name lists in the wake of naming my first child, until I was inspired by a rash of aesthetic posts and moodboard threads to think about my names in a new way. I have a touch of synesthesia, so there are always colors and imagery associated with my favorite names. I switched from trying to organize my existing lists to gathering new lists of names, grouped together by the overall aesthetic I was looking for. This approach totally worked, and for the first time ever, I actually finished a top ten list! > > My original goal was to do ten masc and ten femme moodboards to collect names and create a final combo for each aesthetic. I finished all the masc boards, and this will be my second femme moodboard! I’m calling this one _Iridescent Siren._ Names in this category are mermaids and naiads, sea nymphs and river spirits, Nereids, Oceanids, and mysterious Atlanteans. Colors and textures are seafoam, aquamarine, and cerulean; pearlescent ivory, seashell pink, and shimmering lavender; sunbeams slanting through underwater depths; cotton candy jellyfish floating in ethereal clouds; shipwrecks clustered with barnacles and coral; the bright flash of light reflecting off shimmering scales; the foamy crash of waves turned pink and purple by the setting sun; inhuman shapes moving in the deep; ripples of refracted light dancing along the seafloor; the haunting lullaby of whale song; and mounds upon mounds of shimmering, iridescent treasures - opal and abalone, nacre and sea glass, pearl and moonstone. > **Moodboard** > > ![Moodboard - Iridescent Siren](https://d3e4s07haqhh9y.cloudfront.net/original/3X/5/4/54902a082e76b899d72bb32855fc5b5d86f781a0.jpeg) I am super excited to share this one with you all. Of all the aesthetics I’ve made thus far, this one is definitely my favorite, and the most “me,” if that makes sense. I can’t wait to see what you’re inspired to come up with! (As always, I’ll be adding my favorites to [a public list](https://nameberry.com/account/userlist/346591) as we go.) So! [name\_f]Beautiful[/name\_f] moodboard and the description is very inspiring! 💙 I second that the names [name\_f]Marina[/name\_f], [name\_f]Melusine[/name\_f], [name\_f]Thalassa[/name\_f] and _especially_ [name\_f]Undine[/name\_f] (I prefer this spelling, it’s the original, and the U makes it more alluring and mysterious imo ❤) are perfect for this aesthetic! I’ll try to avoid repeats this time, but there’s so many suggestions already that I’ll probably accidentally repeat a few. I also included pronunciations for some names that might be difficult to know how to pronunciate. 😊 Aalin [ay-lin] Adamantine Adrasteia Alanta Aluona Amaranthine [name\_f]Annabel[/name\_f] _(because of the poem by [name\_m]Edgar[/name\_m] [name\_m]Allan[/name\_m] [name\_u]Poe[/name\_u], [name\_f]Annabel[/name\_f] Lee)_ [name\_f]Anwen[/name\_f] [name\_f]Aqua[/name\_f] [name\_f]Aquamarine[/name\_f] [name\_u]Aria[/name\_u] Ariemma [name\_f]Arietta[/name\_f] [name\_f]Asterope[/name\_f] [name\_f]Athina[/name\_f] [name\_u]Blue[/name\_u] / [name\_u]Bleu[/name\_u] Bluett [name\_u]Cadence[/name\_u] Callianeira / Kallianeira Calliphaeia / Kalliphaeia [name\_f]Calliope[/name\_f] / [name\_f]Kalliope[/name\_f] [name\_f]Cerise[/name\_f] [name\_u]Cerulean[/name\_u] Chrysopeleia [name\_f]Clarina[/name\_f] [name\_f]Cleo[/name\_f] / [name\_f]Clea[/name\_f] / [name\_f]Klea[/name\_f] [name\_f]Cleodora[/name\_f] / Kleodora [name\_f]Cyane[/name\_f] [name\_f]Daphne[/name\_f] Deianeira [name\_f]Derya[/name\_f] Dulcimera Durdana Dynamene Eidothea [name\_f]Eileithyia[/name\_f] [name\_f]Eleusine[/name\_f] [name\_f]Elladine[/name\_f] [name\_f]Elodie[/name\_f] / [name\_f]Elodea[/name\_f] Endeis Eriopis [name\_f]Eulalia[/name\_f] / [name\_f]Eulalie[/name\_f] [name\_f]Eudora[/name\_f] Eulimene Eunoia [name\_f]Eurybia[/name\_f] [name\_f]Eurynome[/name\_f] Euthemia [name\_f]Evadne[/name\_f] [name\_f]Fairuza[/name\_f] Firouzeh / Firuzeh [name\_f]Kailani[/name\_f] [name\_u]Kaimana[/name\_u] Kallistrate Kaltrina Kythereia Féthnaid [fay-nid] [name\_f]Gioia[/name\_f] Halimede [name\_u]Harmony[/name\_u] Helike [name\_f]Helmi[/name\_f] / Helmina [name\_f]Hydrangea[/name\_f] Ianassa [name\_f]Ianthe[/name\_f] [name\_f]Idaia[/name\_f] [name\_f]Io[/name\_f] [name\_f]Iolanthe[/name\_f] [name\_f]Iole[/name\_f] [name\_f]Ione[/name\_f] [name\_f]Ismene[/name\_f] [name\_f]Jessamine[/name\_f] Kinvara [name\_f]Lapis[/name\_f] [name\_f]Larissa[/name\_f] [name\_f]Lavender[/name\_f] [name\_u]Lazuli[/name\_u] Leuka / Leuke Leucothea [name\_f]Lila[/name\_f] [name\_f]Lilaia[/name\_f] [name\_f]Liliwen[/name\_f] [name\_f]Lilliet[/name\_f] Lilune Limnaea Limnoreia Liriope [name\_f]Lucine[/name\_f] Lunamaria Lycoria / Lykoria [name\_f]Lyra[/name\_f] [name\_f]Lystra[/name\_f] [name\_f]Maia[/name\_f] / [name\_f]Maya[/name\_f] [name\_f]Medea[/name\_f] Melisma [name\_f]Melody[/name\_f] [name\_f]Meraud[/name\_f] [name\_f]Meri[/name\_f] Meridiana [name\_f]Mina[/name\_f] [name\_f]Minthe[/name\_f] [name\_f]Minuet[/name\_f] [name\_f]Mira[/name\_f] Mirain [mee-rien] Miramar [name\_f]Moana[/name\_f] Moninne / Moninna [name\_u]Morgan[/name\_u] / [name\_f]Morgana[/name\_f] / [name\_f]Morgaine[/name\_f] / [name\_f]Morgelyn[/name\_f] [name\_f]Morena[/name\_f] [name\_f]Morvoren[/name\_f] _(a mermaid in Cornish folklore)_ Muirenn Mytilene [name\_f]Nahla[/name\_f] [name\_f]Naia[/name\_f] [name\_f]Nanami[/name\_f] [name\_u]Navy[/name\_u] [name\_f]Nefertari[/name\_f] [name\_f]Nefertiti[/name\_f] Nehalennia [name\_f]Nerina[/name\_f] [name\_u]Nesta[/name\_u] [name\_f]Nicasia[/name\_f] / Nikasia [name\_f]Nila[/name\_f] Nilima [name\_f]Niloufar[/name\_f] [name\_f]Nineveh[/name\_f] Ninniane / Niniane Nymphaea [name\_f]Odessa[/name\_f] Orchidea [name\_f]Panthea[/name\_f] Pasiphaë Pasithea Periwinkle [name\_f]Perlezenn[/name\_f] Pherusa Philyra Pleione Rusalija _(from Rusalka; a water spirit in Slavic folklore who is similar to a siren/mermaid.
