Names for baby girl number 3

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] girl number 3 is due in [name_f]April[/name_f] and I am currently trying to decide between a few names. Big sisters are [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] ([name_f]Lulu[/name_f]) and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ([name_f]Tilly[/name_f]).
We are in NZ so I will attempt to show how the names are pronounced down this way, though [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is probably said the same way.

[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] - [name_u]DAY[/name_u] [name_u]LEE[/name_u] [name_m]AH[/name_m]
[name_f]Della[/name_f]

[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] - SAAS [name_f]KI[/name_f] [name_m]AH[/name_m]
[name_f]Kiki[/name_f], Saski

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] - JOO NI PA
[name_f]Junie[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f]

Opinions on those 3 would be great! I’m also into nicknames for little girls so I’ve put what I think we’ll use as nicknames. Suggestions welcome

This is my first post so hope this is done right!

These two have my vote:

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] – I pronounce [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] with the “r” fully intact (from northwest USA where we pronounce everything (sometimes to a fault)) but I like your pronunciation better with this sibset! [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Juni[/name_f] is so cute.

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] & [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] – this fluctuates between being pronounced Dahl-yuh and Dah-lee-uh in the states. I like the [name_u]Day[/name_u]-lee-uh pronunciation as well though.

With [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] I really like [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. I feel like they all evoke fun and bright imagery as well as rich sounds. Congrats on your coming bundle! Having a trio of girls sounds so sweet!

Congrats on your pregnancy and welcome to Nameberry! I like all of your names but here are my ratings based on how they “fit” with the two older girls.

1 [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] - I like the “day” pronunciation. I chose [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] over [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] because it has the same spunky and feminine flair as the two older sibling names.

2 [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] - this name falls to second place due to its shared “u” sound with [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]/[name_f]Lulu[/name_f].

3 [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] - this Dutch name seems a little off for some reason. It has spunk but it lacks a certain warmth. I like Sassy for a nickname myself.

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] sound the best together! Good luck.

Thank you for the feedback so far!

A quick clarification… may or may not matter. Partner’s last name starts with an L so I like the L sound in the girls names too. [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is his least fave though :frowning: He has a dutch mama so that’s where [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] came from (not a family name, just dutch sounding), but agree it is less ‘fun’ than the rest.

I was very picky at first… must have 3 syllables, an L, end in the [name_m]AH[/name_m]/A sound, have a cool nickname… trying to let all the prerequisites go though and not be sooooo crazy

I love Juno! So my vote would be Juniper.
My least favourite would be Dahlia.
Based on your above criteria I quite like Camilla with your girls (Mila or Milly)…

Although I prefer [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] as individual names myself, [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] works the best with the sibset.

Congratulations!

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] {and} [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] {and} [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] from your list would make the best match.

Suggestions:

[name_f]Araminta[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f], [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f]

Hmm I think I like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] the best. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] are great names!

I prefer [name_f]Saskia[/name_f].

I agree [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] ([name_f]Lulu[/name_f]) and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ([name_f]Tilly[/name_f]) sound best with [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], but Am not sure if the flow in your sibset (not that that matters if you love the name!!)

I also agree it will be nice to continue the l repetition.

What about [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] ([name_f]Jewel[/name_f], [name_f]Lettie[/name_f]), [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] ([name_f]Cora[/name_f]/ [name_f]Della[/name_f], calla) or clementine ([name_f]Clea[/name_f])?

Good luck

So hard!

[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]… So so pretty and I love that all three names share that lilting ‘l’ sound which ties them together. I’m not sure if it’s as spunky and sassy as your daughters names though and not a fan of nn [name_f]Della[/name_f] at all… It’s a bit plain in comparison to [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. Have you considered [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]? It’s slightly spunkier [name_f]IMO[/name_f] and I also you could have nn [name_f]Lila[/name_f]? [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] gets Second place here from me but with another nickname she could win the race for me.

[name_f]Saskia[/name_f]… [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name and it’s spunky enough to stand along side [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nn would be Sassy but I like Saski & [name_f]Kia[/name_f] too. This would be my top choice of your three names.

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] along with nn’s [name_f]Juni[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u]-bug so cute  but it gets third place here due to that shared sound ‘oo’ sound that [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] has. Leaving [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]/[name_f]Tilly[/name_f] a little at odds with [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] & [name_f]Juni[/name_f].

Have you considered [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] I think she’s be perfect with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] & [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] ([name_f]Tilly[/name_f], lulu & [name_f]Clio[/name_f]/[name_f]Tiny[/name_f]/lemon) or [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] ([name_f]Tilly[/name_f], lulu & [name_f]Trix[/name_f]/bee)… I also love the suggestion of Bellatrix… A little out there but she fits well with your girls (Trixie/belle)
Other ideas some of which fit your criteria:
Ophelia (fifi/Lia)
Giselle/Gisela (Gigi/Elle)
Clover (coco)
Penelope (poppy/ Lola/Nellie/pip/ pepper)
Scarlett (Lettie/Etta)
Violet (Lettie/Etta)
Rosalind (Indi/Rosie)
Primrose (posey… This one doesn’t have an ‘L’ but I still LOVE it with your girls

This is a tough one.
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] nn [name_f]Juni[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] would be second choice. But after giving it more thought I actually quite love [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] in your sibset!

Before I read your other name possibilities, the first thing that had come to mind was [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] would sound so perfect with [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - then I read you were considering [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]!! So weird lol.

So [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is definitely my favourite of the two - though I would pronounce it Dah-lee-uh, seeing as I’m from [name_f]England[/name_f], but your pronunciation is super cute aswell!!

Have you ever considered [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] though? Think it would fit just perfectly!!

I love both [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] with the older sibling names. Though [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] sounds slightly better with [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].

Strangely enough [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] was number 1 choice for baby girl #2 ([name_f]Matilda[/name_f]) and #3, because I totally agree… perfect fit! Sadly though, my partners sister lost a baby named [name_f]Leila[/name_f] but pronounced just like the [name_f]LILAH[/name_f] in [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. So there is no way I could remind her of that every time she heard my baby’s name :frowning: But yes, you are right on the money, [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] as a substitute for [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

I would have thought that UK and NZ would say [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] the same… maybe I am wrong how it’d be pronounced here? Pretty either way though!
