Names for Baby Smith is very hard!

[name_m]Smith[/name_m] is the most popular last name in [name_u]America[/name_u], but who new I would struggle so much! I love the name [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and recently have started really liking [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. I know these blend into [name_m]Smith[/name_m], but maybe it wont be that noticeable? What your thoughts?

Of course it’s not ideal in terms of flow, but loving the name is more important than whether they run together a bit.
It all depends on how much it bothers you and how much you love the names.

My son’s name ends in T and our last name starts with T. We loved [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] so much that we didn’t care about the names running together.

I agree with @tfzolghadr because your child wears his name forever and I would try to find another one that works with the last name. If [name_u]Elias[/name_u] was going to be called [name_m]Eli[/name_m] then maybe [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]?

[name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] runs together way too much and there are too many S’s for my liking. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] isn’t quite as bad as [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], but it’s still not ideal. I think if you’re going to chose one, it would be best to go with [name_u]Elias[/name_u], but there may be many more options out there that you may love…the only obvious alternatives would be [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] instead of [name_u]Elias[/name_u] or [name_m]Simon[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Silas[/name_m].

I think [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] works better than [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], personally. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]? Still gives you the ‘[name_m]Eli[/name_m]’ without blending into the last name.
What about [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], or even just [name_m]Eli[/name_m]?

I have a difficult last name & a lot of the names I like run into it as well so I feel your pain. My suggestion, if you’re stuck on [name_m]Silas[/name_m] but not wanting to use it as a first, is putting it in the middle, broken up by a second middle name, so it flows better than way.
For example: Firstname [name_m]Silas[/name_m] Secondmiddle [name_m]Smith[/name_m]

But my final piece of advice is just simply: if you really love the name and are stuck on having baby [name_m]Silas[/name_m] or [name_u]Elias[/name_u] then just use it!

I would go with [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. It runs into [name_m]Smith[/name_m] a little, but not as much as [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. I do love the nickname [name_m]Eli[/name_m] for [name_u]Elias[/name_u].
