I am pregnant with our first child due on 10/02/2012. Could I please have some opinions on our current favourites. Keeping in mind that we know about 10 couples due before us and we need to have some back up names in case our favs get stolen.
Girl:
[name]Lola[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Rosie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
Boy:
[name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name] ([name]James[/name] is a family name and will be the second name of our son no matter what)
[name]Jack[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Charlie[/name] [name]James[/name]
We both love both of our girls names and [name]Harry[/name] for a boys name but we are struggling with something we really love after [name]Harry[/name]. I would love any opinions or suggestions.
I love [name]Lola[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]! [name]Rosie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is nice too, but I don’t know how I feel about using it as a first name. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Rose[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name] or [name]Rosa[/name]?
For a boy, I like [name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name] the best. I don’t really like the flow of [name]Jack[/name] [name]James[/name], have you thought of [name]Jackson[/name]? Or even [name]Jonathan[/name]? And I like [name]Charlie[/name] [name]James[/name] as well, despite it being primarily a nickname.
I agree, [name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name] is very [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]. I like [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Jack[/name], but I personally wouldn’t put nicknames on a certificate.
I prefer more formal names and then using nns – [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Charles[/name], for example. [name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name] was a great bandleader – for that reason alone I’d go with [name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name]! I prefer [name]Rose[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] from your girls’ names.
I [name]LOVE[/name] the names [name]Lola[/name] and [name]Rosie[/name], but I’m not crazy about the combinations. Here are some other middle name suggestions:
Well, looking at [name]Lola[/name], [name]Rosie[/name], [name]Harry[/name], [name]Jack[/name], and [name]Charlie[/name], it’s very clear to me that you like nickname names! [name]Lola[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] is pretty. It’s very feminine and flirty, though, so that’s something to consider. [name]Rosie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is cute, but I’d probably go with [name]Rose[/name] [name]Amelia[/name].
Your boy names are more nickname-y to me. [name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name] has the [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] connection, but it’s also the most grown-up sounding option, and thus it’s my favorite. [name]Jack[/name] [name]James[/name] doesn’t flow well at all, honestly, and [name]Charlie[/name] feels very nickname-y.
I absolutly [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Lola[/name] and definitely think you should use that. Of your other girl names [name]Amelia[/name] would be my second choice. I am not fond of [name]Rosie[/name] or [name]Scarlett[/name], but think either of them are okay as middles (as suggested above I too would recommend [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Rose[/name]). For your boys I think all your choices are nice. [name]James[/name] is my all time favorite middle for a boy (it’s one of my sons middles), it’s just so strong and classic. From your suggestions my favorite would be [name]Charlie[/name] [name]James[/name], followed by [name]Jack[/name] [name]James[/name], then [name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name]. When we were pregnant with our first we never told anyone our names and a few weeks before our son was born, some friends used the exact name (first and middle) we were planning to use, completely by chance. So your plan to have a some backups is a good idea!
I love both of your girl names. [name]Rosie[/name] is so lovely. I know two people with this name, one older (30’s) and one baby. I think it works really nicely as a stand alone first name. Your daughter can always go by [name]Rose[/name] if she chooses later on. [name]Lola[/name] is gorgeous too and makes me think of the British BBC series for kids called [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Lola[/name]. [name]Scarlett[/name] is the name we liked if our first born had’ve been a girl. We had a boy and also used [name]James[/name] as the mn. His first name is [name]Spencer[/name]. [name]Charlie[/name] is the boys name I like from your list. Some mentioned that [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name] are nn’s but [name]Harry[/name] is too, [name]Harold[/name] technically being the full name. I like all your boys names. I think they are classics in modern style by using the nn versions. All the best!
[name]Both[/name] nice but to me [name]Lola[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] is just a mash up of two really trendy names, can see that style coming and going but [name]Rosie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is so beautiful, much more classic and timeless. I can see a baby with this name but she could also go by [name]Rose[/name] as when she is an older woman. I also like the suggestion of [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Rose[/name], [name]Mia[/name] could be a cute nickname. You might also like [name]Rosie[/name] [name]Grace[/name], [name]Gracie[/name] [name]Rose[/name], [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. [name]Harry[/name], [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name] are all terrific names although I think I like [name]Charlie[/name] the best, there are so many little Jacks and [name]Harrys[/name] in Australia [name]Charlie[/name] is a fresh alternative. You might also like [name]Archie[/name]/[name]Archer[/name]? [name]Archie[/name] [name]James[/name] sounds very handsome.
