[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, teenberry here and it’s my first time posting on the forums! I’m working on a novel at the moment about a private school where students are trained to fight the undead (very cliche, very silly, but I need something to get the juices flowing for NaNoWriMo!) and I need some help naming my characters. I figured there was nowhere I could go that could give me better naming advice than Nameberry 
Nothing I’ve come up with seems to fit 
First is my MC. She’s a girl, sixteen years old and the daughter of the school principal. She’s quite short and thin, with short dark hair and brown eyes. She’s very sarcastic, brash and impulsive. She thinks that she’s better than the rest of the students at the school and even though she is quite talented, she over-estimates herself. Her best quality is her loyalty to her friends, her biggest flaw is her arrogance. For her surname, I was thinking either [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] or [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. Here are the names I thought of (although none of them seem to fit):

The next character I need help with is one of the MC’s friends. He’s seventeen, a possible love interest for the MC later in the story and he’s also sarcastic. He’s the only one able to match up to her in arguments, debates etc, but while the MC irritates most of the students at school, her friend is more well-liked. While the MC is quick to jump into situations without thinking about the consequences, her friend is more likely to plan his moves. He’s tall, with perpetually messy blond hair and blue eyes. His best quality is his honesty, his biggest flaw is his temper. I’m almost positive that his surname will be [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and that he will have a brother named [name_u]Max[/name_u].

The third character is another of the MC’s friends. She’s sixteen and she has a very vulnerable personality, but a strong desire to impress. She’s affectionately referred to as a hopeless case by her friends because although she tries hard, she never seems to match up to her all-star friends in the athletic department, which is a big part of their lives. She is very intelligent and excels at mental tasks. She has long blonde hair, freckles and grey eyes. Her best quality is her determination and her biggest flaw is her stubbornness. Her surname will be either [name_u]Winslow[/name_u], Song or Dowling.

[name_f]Melody[/name_f] (this one is a no-no if I choose Song for the surname, because of the [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who connection)

Finally, the fourth character who I simply cannot name is my main antagonist. Physically he’s nineteen, but he’s actually twenty-five (he’s a vampire). He has olive skin (Italian heritage) and very dark brown eyes. His hair is also dark brown and very curly. He plays up the vampire angle to lure in impressionable girls/boys and feed on them. He’s reckless and a bit of a free spirit, who becomes fascinated with the school and its students, who are trying to wipe out him and his kind. His best quality is his gratitude (think “A Lannister always pays his debts” and you’ll get what I mean) and his biggest flaw (other than the whole vampirism thing) is his sense of entitlement (when he wants something, he’ll take it, no matter the cost). He’s also a potential love interest for the MC, but in a manipulative, “I’ll use you to get what I want” kind of way. Not sure of whether I’ll give him a surname, but I have no ideas for one right now. Names I’ve considered:

So there you go. Apologies for the huge blocks of text, but I figured the more information you had, the better. I’m not sold on ANY of these names and would really appreciate any suggestions. I’m itching to start writing this, but I can’t exactly do that with nameless characters If it’s any help, some side/minor characters are [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Nia[/name_f], [name_m]Alec[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] “[name_m]Art[/name_m]” and [name_u]Leland[/name_u].
