Names for my hats! - Resolved!

Okay, Im a HUGE hat collector and about a year ago I got my first of the Delux Animal hats. It is a frog from [name]Quebec[/name] named Billiam (like [name]William[/name] with a B, much more interesting!). [name]Just[/name] today I bought two more Delux hats to go with my collection. They are a dog(male) and an owl(female). I know it sounds insanely stupid, but since you all are name nerds I thought you would understand the trouble (and fun!) Im having trying to give the names! I was considering a few options before I started considering using the meanings to name them.

Before Meanings Were Considered:
Owl-
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]-Roo
[name]Phoebe[/name]
(W)Hooby (Suggested by others… like Hoo! Hooby!)

Dog-
[name]Tucker[/name]
Spot…

When considered meanings, I only looked for the owl, and got something along the lines of…

[name]Ava[/name] - Like a bird
[name]Sephora[/name] - [name]Bird[/name]
[name]Wren[/name] - Small [name]Bird[/name]
[name]Zipporah[/name] - [name]Bird[/name] - Origin of [name]Sephora[/name]
[name]Loa[/name] - [name]Spring[/name] [name]Bird[/name]

Im sorry, I know this must sound so stupid but I kind of thought it would be a good naming project! I really want something unusual, to go with Billiam, and maybe something with meaning? The girl can have a double name... Maybe something meaning "night ____"? Oh! Its so hard, and there not even real people! I can`t wait to hear your ideas! Thanks!

My son has a book called “Owliver” about a little owl, but it is a boy owl. [name]How[/name] about Owlivia?

[name]Alouette[/name] - [name]Bird[/name] (sounds a little like owl)

As for the dog one… I am not sure. I don’t like the “typical” dog names. [name]How[/name] about something that means wolf?

I think it’s an odd hobby to collect hats (and name them) but I am glad you have found something interesting that makes you happy!

Also, I know, it is a bit of a weird hobby… I only collect winter hats, though, so sadly my collecting seems it is coming to an end for this season, and this is a good way to end things off!

Can I just suggest names I like with Billiam, and you can go see if they have nice meanings? Billiam can’t have a “good” meaning, can it? Isn’t it made up?

PS I always like to call my grandpa “Billiam” because his name is [name]William[/name] but he goes by [name]Bill[/name]. Seemed natural to me for his name to be Billiam, of course! Ha!

So, for your owl, she sounds like a [name]Marjorie[/name] first and foremost, but I could see her as [name]Adora[/name], [name]Belinda[/name], [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Dolores[/name], Erethusa, [name]Florence[/name] “[name]Flo[/name],” [name]Gretchen[/name], [name]Harriet[/name] “[name]Hattie[/name],” [name]Irene[/name], [name]Jessamine[/name], [name]Leona[/name], [name]Martina[/name], [name]Nicolette[/name] (or NicOWLette - ha!), Oracene, [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Queenie[/name], [name]Ruthie[/name], [name]Sosie[/name], [name]Tabitha[/name], or [name]Vera[/name].

Thanks for all your wonderful posts everyone! They have really helped! I think for my dog I am definitely stuck on [name]Tucker[/name]. For the owl… I kind of want something dark and mysterious yet cute and quircky. So I have a list that are, in my opinion, names that follow both catagories nicely and I am considering.

My problem has been resolved. I have hearby named my owl Hooby and my dog [name]Tucker[/name]. Thanks everyone!
