Names for our November surprise?

Ok, so you were all so kind about giving advice about having a list of names for the birth of our baby. Now I’m hoping to get some advice on which names you prefer. We aren’t sharing any of our choices with family or friends because we don’t want to be swayed by mom or dad not liking a name that we love. However, we also don’t want to name our kid something goofy, or that can be easily picked on, or that means something terrible that we don’t know about…and I know nameberry won’t lead us astray!

Please be brutally honest about the list! [name]Add[/name] suggestions! If you don’t tell me no one will (until the kid goes to school anyways). Also, just for reference, our last name is Morales.

Girl names:
[name]Millicent[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Millicent[/name] [name]Harper[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Helene[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ray[/name] ([name]Ray[/name] is also my dad’s middle name)
[name]Verity[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Nell[/name] [name]Harper[/name]
[name]Adele[/name] [name]Elise[/name]

[name]Joel[/name] [name]Conrad[/name]
[name]Neil[/name] [name]Asher[/name]
[name]Grant[/name] [name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Carter[/name] Wyeth
[name]Levi[/name] [name]Eames[/name]
[name]Wade[/name] [name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Reed[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]

Thank you a million times over!

Ooh! Fun list!

[name]Millicent[/name] [name]Claire[/name] Morales: I really love this combo, alliteration included. I think [name]Millie[/name] Morales is darling, and I love that she’ll always have the [name]Millicent[/name] option. I think [name]Claire[/name] really works in the middle, too.

[name]Millicent[/name] [name]Harper[/name] Morales: Is [name]Harper[/name] a family name? I’m asking because it’s getting pretty popular/trendy, and I’d hate for you to regret your choice later. I do think the flow is really nice!

[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Elise[/name]: I love [name]Susannah[/name], but I have a hard time with the flow of [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Elise[/name], because [name]Susannah[/name] ends in a vowel sound and [name]Elise[/name] begins with one. I think [name]Susannah[/name] Morales is fantastic!

[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Claire[/name]: I love [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Claire[/name], but when [name]Claire[/name] follows a first name ending in A, the [name]Claire[/name] attaches to the A, and I hear [name]Suzanne[/name] Eclair (like the dessert). I think this is just me, though, but I thought I’d mention it!

[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Ray[/name] (to honor your dad)
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Helene[/name]: I love [name]Georgia[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name] it!)!

[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ray[/name] ([name]Ray[/name] is also my dad’s middle name): I think this is really pretty, but I’m guessing some people may think you’re referencing [name]Ray[/name] [name]Charles[/name] here, with his [name]Georgia[/name] song.

[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

[name]Verity[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]: I think this is really pretty!

[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Jane[/name]: I love this one!

[name]Nell[/name] [name]Harper[/name]: I really love [name]Nell[/name], and even though it’s getting trendy, I think [name]Nell[/name] [name]Harper[/name] has a nice Southern feel…

[name]Adele[/name] [name]Elise[/name]: I really love [name]Adele[/name], but with [name]Elise[/name], it’s kind of a tongue-twister for me when I say it out loud because of the repetitive el sounds.

[name]Adele[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] (although it sounds a bit like [name]Adella[/name] [name]Melia[/name])
[name]Adele[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Adele[/name] [name]Georgiana[/name] (I think [name]Molly[/name] Ringwald may have named her baby this…)
[name]Adele[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Adele[/name] [name]Violette[/name]

[name]Joel[/name] [name]Conrad[/name]: I love [name]Conrad[/name]! [name]Love[/name] it! Have you thought about [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Conrad[/name]?

[name]Neil[/name] [name]Asher[/name]: I think both names are cool, but I’m hearing Lasher when I say the combo out loud.

[name]Grant[/name] [name]Spencer[/name]: I really love this one. (Was this a character on a Soap [name]Opera[/name]? It sounds familiar!)

[name]Carter[/name] Wyeth: It may not bother you, but I thought I’d mention that [name]Carter[/name] is very popular/trendy. For some reason, [name]Carter[/name] Wyeth sounds like a pharmeceutical company to me. What about [name]Wyatt[/name]?

[name]Levi[/name] [name]Eames[/name]: I prefer some of your other choices…
[name]Wade[/name] [name]Spencer[/name]: Ditto…

[name]Reed[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]: I really like this combo!

[name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Nell[/name] or [name]Poppy[/name])

[name]Theodore[/name] (nn [name]Theo[/name])

Good luck!

[name]Joel[/name] [name]Conrad[/name]
[name]Grant[/name] [name]Spencer[/name]
– [name]Both[/name] of these combos are AWESOME. I think “[name]Joel[/name] Morales” sounds ADORABLE. [name]Joel[/name] [name]Conrad[/name] is definitely my favorite, followed by [name]Grant[/name] [name]Spencer[/name].

Girls: (messed around with the combos a bit  )
[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Jane[/name] - I love the nn [name]Maggie[/name], and that’s why I like [name]Margaret[/name]. Would you call her [name]Maggie[/name]?
[name]Nell[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] - I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]NELL[/name]!! This would have been in my final 3 (I’m due in Oct. w my 3rd daughter) but my oldest is [name]Ellie[/name], and [name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Nell[/name] would sound werid as sisters. But I love it. I really don’t care for [name]Harper[/name], so I’d use either [name]Susannah[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], or [name]Georgia[/name] as a mn (unless, of course, [name]Harper[/name] has a special meaning for you)

I knew you would come through for us! [name]Harper[/name] has no special meaning to us. I just like the name, but I [name]DON[/name]'T like it enough to use it if it is going to be the equivalent of stamping '09 on our baby. As far as the [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Clarie[/name] thing, it is so funny that you mention that, because the name my mother had picked out for me was nixed for the very same, "sounds like ‘eclair’ " reason! We also really liked the name [name]Graham[/name], but it sounds terrible with our last name :frowning:

I also didn’t realize [name]Carter[/name] was so popular…but I don’t know a lot a of babies. It is so hard to walk that line between a sort of classic type name and something that is too popular. I want people to know the name and know how to spell it, but I don’t want there to be 3 kids with same name.

And yes, I think that if we used [name]Margaret[/name] we would either use [name]Maggie[/name] or [name]Margo[/name]

I love the suggestions! Thank you so much!

You have some really great names to choose from. [name]Just[/name] a couple more suggestions:)

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] Morales ([name]Jill[/name]'s suggestion with nn [name]Poppy[/name])
[name]Asher[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] Morales

I hadn’t even thought of using [name]Blythe[/name]! I loooooove that name.

I love verity! I grew up with a girl named [name]Verity[/name] [name]Jane[/name] and I think this sounds really pretty. I also think [name]Millicent[/name] [name]Claire[/name] flows nicely.

For your boy names, I like [name]Joel[/name] best, and then [name]Grant[/name]. I think [name]Grant[/name] [name]Spencer[/name] sounds like an old movie star

Girl: [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Rae[/name]. I prefer [name]Rae[/name] (not [name]Ray[/name]) for a girl. A nice 2-1-3 name combo.

Boy: [name]Reed[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] or [name]Grant[/name] [name]Spencer[/name]. I think [name]Reed[/name] sounds better with Morales, though.
