My husband and I are expecting twin boys this summer. After many hours of deliberation and discussion, we have combined separate lists of favorite names into a single “I can tolerate that one” list. (It turns out our naming styles are not very similar at all so it was a tough process…)
We’d love input as to which combinations from our list people like. Our goal is to give individual names that sound nice together- meaning, nothing starting with the same letter or rhyming or anything like that, but not clashing in feel. We are thinking to pull both first and middle names from this list, but if anyone can think of names we didn’t include that are in a similar vein we are still open to suggestions. I’ll mark names with family connections.( Whether or not we prioritize use of family names is still being debated.) And our last name is Zimmermann.
[name]Both[/name] suggestions of first name combinations (one for each boy) and suggestions of first and middle combinations (for each boy) would be most appreciated. Thanks for your thoughts!

[name]Owen[/name] and [name]Liam[/name]
[name]Bryce[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Grant[/name] and [name]Dean[/name]
Perhaps you can pick fns you love and use family names as mns?
Something like:
[name]Luke[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Noah[/name] [name]Graham[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name] [name]Karl[/name] and [name]Liam[/name] [name]Neal[/name]
[name]Owen[/name] [name]Graham[/name] and [name]Colin[/name] [name]Axel[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Neal[/name] and [name]Colin[/name] [name]William[/name] (As a pose to [name]Liam[/name], perhaps? Much more classic)
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Noah[/name] [name]Liam[/name]/[name]William[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Axel[/name] and [name]Logan[/name] [name]James[/name]
I’ve tried to include family names into the majority.
[name]Hi[/name], Zaelia! I can’t wait to hear which names you and your husband choose for your boys!
My absolute favorite combo from your joint list is: [name]Bryce[/name] [name]Logan[/name] & [name]Graham[/name] [name]Carter[/name].
[name]Bryce[/name] and [name]Graham[/name] are one syllable each, and they both seem like energetic and kind boys to me! Their meanings are also connected: [name]Bryce[/name] is a place-name, and [name]Graham[/name] means “gravelly homestead,” so their first names both relate to locations one could live in! That connection makes their names extra warm and cozy, don’t you think?
I also think [name]Dean[/name] & [name]Grant[/name], [name]Colin[/name] & [name]Neal[/name], and [name]James[/name] & [name]Isaac[/name] would also make lovely twin brothers.
Thanks for all the excellent suggestions. I love so many of them! You are proposing combinations I wouldn’t have thought of myself, but am really liking. I need to sit my husband down to look through them as well. It is going to be really hard to choose!
Zaelia-
I am in kind of the same boat
We have 2 sons and are expecting twin boys this summer. It has been SUCH a struggle for us to come up with FOUR names we [name]BOTH[/name] like (first and middles).
Our oldests name is [name]Grant[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] so of course I’m going to say that is my favorite. Our second born is [name]Tanner[/name] [name]Jaycob[/name].
To go with [name]Grant[/name] I love the idea of other “verb” or “noun” names like [name]Neal[/name], [name]Drew[/name], [name]Reed[/name], [name]Dean[/name], [name]Graham[/name].
I think any of those would make a nice combo for twins.
I like reading your posts/replies for inspiration myself!!
I was just reading back over this and noticed I hadn’t seen the posts on the second page… Thanks for your suggestions! Best of luck with your own twin naming conundrum.

I think you answered my “[name]Owen[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name]” question, so my first vote is for [name]Owen[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name]!
However, I also love: [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Dean[/name] and [name]Axel[/name] [name]James[/name] (I like the contrast between buttoned-up [name]Oliver[/name] and rockstar [name]Axel[/name])
[name]Graham[/name] and [name]James[/name]
[name]Owen[/name] and [name]Colin[/name]
My favorites would be [name]Liam[/name] and [name]Owen[/name]. I think they sound great together.
[name]Liam[/name] [name]Drake[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] [name]Graham[/name] would be great.
I also really like [name]Ansel[/name]. But [name]Liam[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] are a great combo!
