Names for twin girls, advice needed a.s.a.p.!

I am expecting twins in three weeks (or less). I thought we had the names all set, but after getting so much negative feedback on one of the names, I’m now reconsidering. The names were:
[name]Poppy[/name] [name]Viola[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Maude[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Faye[/name]

No one seems to like [name]Maude[/name]. The only other option I really like at this point is [name]Marigold[/name]. The names would be:
[name]Poppy[/name] [name]Viola[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Marigold[/name] [name]Mora[/name] [name]Faye[/name]

Are [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Marigold[/name] too matchy-matchy? Also, I envision a [name]Marigold[/name] as being blonde and fair. The babies will have dark brown or black hair and most likely medium-toned skin. Or does that even matter? Am I over analyzing?

My other kids are [name]Bryce[/name], [name]Max[/name], [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name], btw.

I say don’t let other people’s opinions stop you from using the name you love. [name]Maude[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Faye[/name] and [name]Marigold[/name] [name]Mora[/name] [name]Faye[/name] are both lovely names, so go with whichever you love. If its [name]Maude[/name] you love, use it, and everyone else will get used to it once there is a beautiful baby attached to the name.

I don’t like [name]Maude[/name].[name]Marigold[/name] is prettier…and less musty.I think they match well and [name]Marigold[/name] has more nickname options

Really like [name]Maude[/name]! [name]Don[/name]'t let the opinions of others influence your name choices.

I’m not sure if you want more opinions about [name]Maude[/name], but I’m not crazy about it.
I think [name]Maura[/name], ([name]Mora[/name]), or [name]Maeve[/name] would be some alternatives if you don’t decide on [name]Marigold[/name], which is also lovely. I could see [name]Marigold[/name] on a dark-haired child!

Not everyone will like the name choice, even if you do change it though. Good luck

I love [name]Maude[/name]!! I find it to be so chic!
[name]Marigold[/name] doesn’t fit with all your other children who have one-syllable namely and then marigold has three. [name]Marigold[/name] just looks to fussy next to your sibset. I think poppy and [name]Maude[/name] is precious and different

I love [name]Maude[/name] & [name]Marigold[/name]!

[name]Poppy[/name] means father in my area

I don’t think [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Marigold[/name] are too matchy-matchy. And though I too envision a golden haired child with the name [name]Marigold[/name], I don’t think it matters thses days, unless it really bothers you that she doesn’t “look” like a [name]Marigold[/name].
My advice would be to just stick with what you love and name her [name]Maude[/name].
(Though [name]Maude[/name] is nms I do like [name]Magnolia[/name]. Out of all your names [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Mora[/name] [name]Faye[/name] would be my favorite combo)

[name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Maude[/name] are perfect! Who cares if no one else likes it?! They will once they see your baby

I like [name]Maude[/name] a lot, but [name]Marigold[/name] and [name]Poppy[/name] are adorable together! Either way, someone out there won’t like it, so go with what you love. I don’t think the hair color will matter once it’s on your little one

Maybe [name]Maeve[/name] instead of [name]Maude[/name]?

I think [name]Maude[/name] is adorable! I know its easy to second guess yourself when you get alot of negative feedback though. [name]Marigold[/name] And [name]Poppy[/name] is a great choice too. I don’t think you can go wrong which ever you choose! Oh and I love the MNs too!

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Maud/name!
[name]Marigold[/name] is lovely as well, but I much prefer your [name]Maude[/name] combo to the [name]Marigold[/name] one.
If I were to say anything I’d want to change, I don’t like the double flower combination of [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Viola[/name]. [name]Violet[/name], not [name]Viola[/name], is the flower, but it’s still too floral for me.

I agree with everyone who has said to just go with what you love the most!
But if you are still considering others opinions, I really don’t like [name]Maude[/name] - it seems too outdated to me, and I just don’t really see it becoming fresh to me again. I do like [name]Marigold[/name] quite a bit. [name]Marigold[/name] and [name]Poppy[/name] sound really cute together, but I do think they are a tad match-y. I am really loving the [name]Maeve[/name] suggestion! [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Faye[/name] is gorgeous!

Thanks so much for your input! [name]Viola[/name] is a family name that must be used (as are [name]Faye[/name] and [name]Ruth[/name]). I stuck it next to [name]Poppy[/name] and am hoping that only people who have flower gardens will notice. I’m not super fond of [name]Viola[/name], but since it was one of my grandmas who was dear to me, I want to use it. I usually think of the musical instrument instead of the flower, but having two flowers together does bother me a little…

Thanks for all the fast replies! I hope I can decide before they get here!

I personally like [name]Maude[/name], but [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Marigold[/name] go well together too! I don’t think physical appearance matters, the person makes the name not the other way around. Good luck

I normally say use what you love, but [name]Maude[/name] is just terrible in my opinion. [name]Poppy[/name] is light, cute, and fun. [name]Maude[/name] just seems wrinkled, grey, harsh, and ugly. Sorry, I just want to give my opinion. Your other kids’ names are great! Have you considered [name]Magnolia[/name]?

Are you familiar with Design Mom? Basically one of the coolest mommy bloggers on the net, and she named her kids [name]Ralph[/name], [name]Maude[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Oscar[/name], [name]Betty[/name], and [name]June[/name]. Perhaps it’s her influence, but I say [name]Maude[/name] is awesome and agree family will come around. I believe I read about your dilemma on the website waltzingmorethanmatilda.com. What Do You Think of These Names for Twin Girls? | Waltzing More Than Matilda … this the one?
Anyway, I love [name]Poppy[/name], it’s adorable! I think I like [name]Marigold[/name] more than [name]Maude[/name], [name]Maude[/name] has always sounded like a mean aunt to me… While I don’t think the colour of a child’s hair has much impact in the naming process, if you are already picturing something (blonde hair) and your baby will not look how you picture a [name]Marigold[/name], then it could make you regret your decision.
Overall I think [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Marigold[/name] work best, your sibset is light and fun and [name]Maude[/name] darkens that… ooohh also [name]Goldie[/name] would be an gorgeous nickname!
Good [name]Luck[/name],
