I love this thread…I thought I was the only one to plan future pet names!
I really want two cats from the same litter so I can name them [name]Dexter[/name] and [name]Brian[/name] (brothers from Showtime’s series [name]Dexter[/name]). I also recently decided that (a long time from now) I would love to have two Corgis or French Bulldogs named [name]Tony[/name] Stark (Iron [name]Man[/name]) and [name]Bruce[/name] [name]Wayne[/name] (Batman).
I’m a huge rabbit person and my family’s rabbits (3 of them so far, all female) have always been named classy British names: [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Potter[/name], [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Rose[/name], [name]Emma[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. I already have two more rabbit names picked out:
[name]Male[/name] rabbit: [name]Abbott[/name] O’[name]Reilly[/name] (not just because it rhymes, but also because I think it’s adorable)
Female rabbit: [name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
And for dogs? My naming style is totally different. I’m a native Texan and I adore the classic names of [name]Texas[/name] landmarks and counties. For a while now, I’ve been turning the idea around in my head of someday using the name Llano Estacado (a geographic formation in [name]Texas[/name], which means “Palisaded Plains.” It’s kind of absurd for a dog, I know, but I would call the dog Llano most of the time). I’m talking a big, rough-and-tumble kind of dog here (like a Lab or [name]Golden[/name] Retriever), because this would definitely not fit a tiny dog.
That being said, I’ll keep looking for other cool [name]Texas[/name]-themed names for dogs that I would never be able to use on a kid.
Specifically I have named picked out based on breed of dog I guess or looks if its a mix. I’m really not a cat person so I probably wont have one of them in the future and this doesn’t mean I am going to have this many dogs its just like my list of things I might choose from.
Newfoundland - Kraemer, Elvis, Mickey, Nixon, or Roman “Romeo”
Irish Wolfhound or scruffy mixed dog - Scrooge or Sherlock
Aussies - Barbie, Cagney, Dixie, Casino, Jazz, Magic, Ripley, Vegas, Viva
Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd - Leo, Kisor, Audi, Akon, Zelda, Tequila, Ace
Corgi/Dachshund/Bassett Hound - Bogart “Bogey”, Cupid, Kirby, Luella, Lux, Madonna, Milo, Tuesday, Wynnie, Yoshi
I really want a male and a female parrot, named [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Meg[/name].
I also want cats named [name]Mia[/name] (for [name]Mia[/name] Farrow and slight nod to Miniature Tigers with their album, [name]Mia[/name] [name]Pharaoh[/name], which I’m assuming is also a nod to [name]Mia[/name] Farrow, lol)
[name]Algernon[/name]
[name]Niamh[/name]
[name]Chaplin[/name]
and I’m sure there’s more, but that’s all I can think of for now. Mainly pop culture names or names that would be hard for a kid to pull off
I would love girl dogs named [name]Dani[/name] and [name]Sasha[/name] - not sure if they’re too human, but my style when it comes to pet names is human nicknames. A male dog would definitely be [name]Alfie[/name] or [name]Chase[/name].
As I’ve said before I’m getting two kittens on [name]Tuesday[/name]. We are definitley calling the dark brown one [name]Rolo[/name] but we dont know about the ginger one. I love [name]Lilo[/name] & Stitch but it wouldnt go with the kitten. [name]Clementine[/name] is in the lead as well as [name]Ember[/name].
For some reason, I’ve always dreamed of having a 5ish year old, male [name]Golden[/name] Retriever named [name]Tucker[/name].
Others I’d like:
[name]Male[/name] [name]Papillon[/name] named Tido
Female Cavalier [name]King[/name] [name]Charles[/name] Spaniel named [name]Izzy[/name]
Female Cavalon named [name]Luna[/name]
I would love to have two german shorthaired pointers called [name]Noor[/name] and Sepp, or [name]Lotta[/name] and Sisu or Saro and [name]Remi[/name], and so on. also a few ferrets with names like [name]Ida[/name], Embla, [name]Odin[/name] and [name]Chaya[/name]. My horse names are Casilda, [name]Catalina[/name], Rabea, [name]Nuria[/name] and Semper. and last but not least, my cat names are [name]Vesper[/name], Tippi, [name]Sybil[/name], Lolente and Relinde.
I already talked with my former girlfriend/future roommate and we speculated about the names we’re going to choose for our future animals together!
Cats: Moriarty (ragdoll) and [name]Loki[/name] (Russian blue)
Dogs: Muffin (beagle) and [name]Bea[/name] (vizsla)
[name]Fish[/name]: Kosciuszko, [name]Jefferson[/name], and [name]Hamilton[/name] (for fish, we always name them after two friendly historical figures… and then one enemy, haha)
