Always had a thing for names associated with ballet, but I was wondering if anyone out there would name their daughter Coppelia? I actually think it’s beautiful but have yet to come across anyone with this name, or anyone wanting to use this name on the internet.
I love both the ballet, Coppelia, and the name. I think it’s too over the top to use on an actual kid, though, at least in the US.
What about [name]Clara[/name] from The Nutcracker?
I think this is why I love the name [name]Giselle[/name] so much.

I think [name]Odette[/name] is one of the swans in Swan [name]Lake[/name]…
[name]Odette[/name] is the Swan [name]Princess[/name] herself 
[name]Odile[/name] is the bad swan, who impersonates [name]Odette[/name] (they are always danced by the same dancer).
As for Coppelia, I do like it, but I feel that I like the ballet connection more than I do the name itself. Besides, I can’t think of any really lovely nns …

Sorry for posting on an old thread, but I just stumbled across this while trying to search ballet names.
My daughter’s middle name is Coppelia. She is named after my husband’s mother, whose name is Coppelia [name]Marie[/name]. My niece is also named Coppelia. [name]Both[/name] occasionally go by [name]Coco[/name].
I adore it and find it totally usable.
