I was at the playground with my son this morning and heard some very interesting names so I thought I’d share.
[name]Ariana[/name] - Her grandparents spoke only Spanish so the way they pronounced it was beautiful
[name]Rex[/name]
Riot - [name]Rex[/name]'s brother. I feel like both these names are asking for trouble down the road
and most surprising to me were two cousins there with their grandmother:
[name]Ava[/name] - first time I’ve ever actually heard this name in real life
[name]Evan[/name] - for a girl!
I was surprised that parents who seem to live close to each other would have gone so close in names.
What do you think of these gems from the playground?
I also really like [name]Ariana[/name] and [name]Rex[/name]! I suggested [name]Rex[/name] to my hubby once and his response was: “Like a dog?”. I was so disappointed…
Riot is terrible, unless it has a another meaning in another language I am not aware of. [name]Evan[/name] is nice, but I prefer it on a boy. I don’t care for [name]Ava[/name]. Not my cup of tea.
[name]Ariana[/name] is okay. It has never been a name that appealed to me.
[name]Rex[/name] is cute, but I couldn’t do it.
Riot…um…no.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Ava[/name], but a little too popular for me.
[name]Evan[/name] for a girl. No, but then I don’t care for gender hopping of names, personally.
Riot is just painful - people forget they are naming PEOPLE who grow up and have to function as adults - NOT puppies.
[name]Evan[/name] is awful on a girl, I hate it. [name]Ava[/name] is lovely and I don’t see it as often as I used to. [name]Ariana[/name] is nice enough but I know SOmany (heavy Hispanic population here) and [name]Rex[/name] is cute, but a little “eh” for me, I guess.
[name]Riot[/name] is terrible. I want to like [name]Rex[/name] but it makes me think of the dinosaur. [name]Evan[/name] is terrible for a girl, but I’m not a fan of boy names on girls (i.e. [name]Elliot[/name], [name]Parker[/name], etc.) [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Ariana[/name] are both okay but not my favorites.
