[name_f]Clover[/name_f] (Clove): [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name! but im not sure if it is too much
[name_f]Petal[/name_f]: OBSESSED! but i feel like it is alot as a first name… nickname?
[name_m]Llewelyn[/name_m]: Like alot worried about spelling.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] / [name_f]Celestia[/name_f]: too crazy?
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]: too strong association with [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] Character?
[name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f] / [name_u]Snow[/name_u]: MY FAV!! But I feel like it is too much
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] (Storie?): cute and I really like, but unsure
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]- this one doesn’t seem too out there for me I feel like it might raise a few eyebrows with the older generation but would fit right in with today’s current nature names like [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] & [name_f]Maple[/name_f].
[name_f]Petal[/name_f]- this one is a little more out there, but still usable if you really loved it. I actually think it would make a pretty awesome middle name or nickname.
[name_m]Llewelyn[/name_m]- it has a cool sound, but being a non welsh speaker it bothers me that I can’t pronounce the ‘ll’ sound correctly
[Celeste/Celestia- I’ve met more than one person named [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] so this one doesn’t seem strange to me
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]- it being a supporting character in the story, and the popularity of twilight fading dramatically I wouldn’t worry about the connection too much. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is a beautiful name!
[name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f]- this is adorable, but it is a little more daring! I also have [name_f]Eirlys[/name_f] on my list which is Welsh for [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f]
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f]- I’ve heard this being used before and the nn [name_u]Story[/name_u] is cute, unfortunately the first syllable is a little off putting for me. (Around here the ‘a’ sound is pronounced as in ‘apple’ and not ‘uh’)
I think [name_f]Clover[/name_f] is usable. Not as unusual now as it may have been in the past. I think [name_u]Clove[/name_u] might have the association of a clove cigarette.
[name_f]Petal[/name_f] is a bit much.
If you’re in the U.S. like I am, [name_m]Llewellyn[/name_m] will be a struggle.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is great. [name_f]Celestia[/name_f] is a lot, but you could still get away with it.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is a timeless classic, and my favorite on your list. I don’t think the association with [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] is too strong.
[name_u]Snow[/name_u] is delightful, and I’m seeing it around. I think it’s a great middle name, and I know of one girl who has it as a first name. With her light, one syllable last name, it seems really sweet and not crazy. I do think [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f] is too much for a first name.
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] is a little “hotel” for me.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]: very cute! A little wordy but I do think these names are becoming more popular- definitely useable as a middle
[name_f]Petal[/name_f]: this does feel like a pet’s name for some reason? It’s weird because we all use a ton of flower names and stuff like [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] are rising but for some reason it doesn’t quite feel right,
[name_m]Llewelyn[/name_m]- I do love this name for boys. Welsh names are tough but I think people can learn it and he could go by [name_u]Lou[/name_u]. I would not use it for girls as it’s a male name from a gendered language.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]- not crazy at all! It’s a pretty space name and I think most people will be familiar with it. Definitely useable. [name_f]Celestia[/name_f] feels a bit like unnecessary sound added to [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] but it’s fine.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]- No it’s a classic name and Twilight’s been over long enough. Unless you have another [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] name or were a huge twilight fan you’re fine. It’s lovely, totally useable.
Swowdrop/Snow- probably a bit much for a first name. Could work as a middle as long as the first name isn’t a word name.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Clove[/name_u]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
Clover (Clove): This is cute and not too out there. I think it is being used and the er ending and similar sounds to Chloe make me feel like it could work
Petal: yeah, this is a little cutesy to me. Maybe as a middle and then you could nn her Petal! Or if you use any flower name
Llewelyn: I’d know how to spell it, but Luellen could be another options
Celeste / Celestia: not at all! Celeste is sleek and somehow both grounded and starry. Celestia is bolder but still usable
Rosalie: i know there is a Rosalie in Twilight but I don’t think it’s exclusively tied to her
Snowdrop / Snow: Snow: yes! Snowdrop: as a middle!
Astoria (Storie?): i love Astoria! Pretty, bright and lovely. Astoria isn’t too much imo
Ohh, I adore Celestia!! All lovely names, but that’s my fave of the bunch.
I think [name_f]Clover[/name_f] & [name_f]Petal[/name_f] might sound better for little girls than adults…? The nickname [name_u]Clove[/name_u] reminds me of the Hunger Games character as well, which isn’t the best association.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] are beautiful classics, so I think you can’t go wrong with those!
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] sounds neat, but reminiscent of the neighourhood.
[name_m]Llewelyn[/name_m] is gorgeous, but you would likely run into major pronunciation issues on a regular basis.
And [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f] is SO pretty, but maybe too much like a character in a fairy book?
So my vote would be for [name_f]Celestia[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] a blanket ‘all of them are usable’ so I don’t have to keep repeating that
Other concerns beside usability:
[name_m]Llewelyn[/name_m]: spelling will absolutely be a hassle, depends on how much that will bother you
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]: didn’t even know there was a character named [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] in [name_u]Twilight[/name_u]! I’ve never seen or read them though. But I still don’t think it’s an issue. [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] has faded quite a bit by now and will continue to do so, I’m sure
I’m going to break the mold and say I absolutely LOVE [name_f]Petal[/name_f], and think it could work on a little girl or a woman, as a name itself and not just a nn or amusket, but as a first. It’s very reminiscent to me of [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] as a name (as someone else mentioned), but I actually like it more.
And when she’s little, her nn could be pet, which I think is so sweet (in the sense that it’s been used historically, I think in parts of [name_f]England[/name_f] (???), as a term of endearment).
I also love [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f], but that one does feel better in the middle spot to me. I also second the Welsh name [name_f]Eirlys[/name_f] as a first, and then you could call her [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f] as a nn.
As for the other names, I think they’re fine and have no real usability qualms for them. I just don’t love themselves much as [name_f]Petal[/name_f] and Snowdrop/Eirlys.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] is usable nowadays, I think! It’s very sweet and vintagey. It makes a darling middle (that’s how I’d use it because I’m a bit too afraid to put it as a first!)
[name_f]Petal[/name_f] might be best left as a middle, however - it just seems a bit TOO word-y to call a child by. For what it’s worth, I think [name_f]Petal[/name_f] could be a nickname for absolutely any name - more of a sweet term of endearment for a darling little girl.
[name_m]Llewelyn[/name_m] would get me when it comes to spelling (I’d automatically go Llewellyn.) Pronunciation will likely cause some stumbles too (will you say it the Welsh way or read it in phonetic [name_f]English[/name_f]? What about people meeting just him?) I do adore the name and its history, but these complexities might make it better left as a middle.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] doesn’t seem crazy at all to me. It feels like a very usable name - think [name_f]Colette[/name_f]. [name_f]Celestia[/name_f] is a little more unique but I think it has more allure and could work with a nickname like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. I’ve never read [name_u]Twilight[/name_u], so I wasn’t aware there was a character with that name! It does have a lot of vintage usage and I do think we’ll see it climb soon enough, so hopefully the association will fade away.
[name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f] might be a bit much as a first but once again in the middle spot it could absolutely shine, especially for a [name_u]December[/name_u] or [name_u]January[/name_u] baby.
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] seems completely usable to me. Perhaps it’s because it’s so close to [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] (in more ways than one - I’m thinking A__A vintage name, but also [name_u]Maine[/name_u] spots!) but I could totally see it on a kiddo, and Storie just makes it cuter!
As FNs, the names I find super usable are [name_f]Astoria[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]. [name_f]Clover[/name_f] and [name_f]Celestia[/name_f] are usable as well, and all the rest are darling middles.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]- totally useable, I have a friend by this name
[name_f]Petal[/name_f]- Idk, probably fine
[name_m]Llewelyn[/name_m]- Idk how to pronounce but I’m sure it’s fine
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]- crazy? I thought this was a pretty normal name
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]- never watched twilight but i’m sure it’s fine
Snowdrop/Snow- LOVE! More out there, but not in a bad way
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f]- I adore [name_f]Astoria[/name_f].
