[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]'s my favourite by far. On this list, she seems to be out on her own in terms of style, being a less common and ‘exotic’ type choice, and as that style is more my own, she, of course, got my vote.
I voted for [name_f]Layla[/name_f] as she’s on my own list, with this spelling bit biased haha. [name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Marina[/name_f] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] is so overdone where I live - I can’t really back the ‘Mad’ names in the first name spot now
Thanks for all the responses berries! I guess [name_f]Nicoletta[/name_f] isn’t going to get any love on here. I met a girl today named [name_f]Nicoletta[/name_f] and it made it seem so much more wearable than I previously thought. @lawsonhaley- I totally understand the [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] thing, it is really overdone where I live too, but I loved the [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] books as a kid, and [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] is just unavoidable as a nn. @watermellie- I know, it is such a shame [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is so popular, because it is a classic and is really sweet. I know a lot of [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and Emilys. I hadn’t really thought much about [name_f]Emma[/name_f] since it is so popular, but I just started reading [name_f]Emma[/name_f] by [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u], and it made me realize how pretty [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is.
Keep the responses coming and please do check out my boys thread, it isn’t getting the same love!
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mae[/name_f]! I’ve been trying to find another nn besides [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is perfect! Never thought of it. lol. [name_f]My[/name_f] next favorite is [name_f]Colette[/name_f].
I really like [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] (voted for [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f].) [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] are nice, too. I also think the [name_f]Leila[/name_f] spelling looks much lovelier and less trendy/tacky than [name_f]Layla[/name_f].
I voted for [name_f]Layla[/name_f]/[name_f]Leila[/name_f]. I’ve preferred the [name_f]Leila[/name_f] spelling for a long time-- it fits better in my non-anglo community. Plus some friends of mine just named their beautiful daughter [name_f]Leila[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]!
I voted [name_f]Layla[/name_f]/[name_f]Leila[/name_f]
Personally I pronounce them differently but I’m not sure of what everyone else does.
[name_f]Layla[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la)
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] ([name_u]Lee[/name_u]-la)
I voted [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], but I also love [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] too, but prefer the ending pronounced leen.
