I think it would be interesting to talk about names that you’ve found in your family tree/history. I will start
I have an extremely large extended family from my mother’s side. My maternal grandmother had 10 children (one died at infancy) she has over 20 grandchildren and in 2004 she had 37 great-grand children. I can only imagine that number is probably well over 40. I quite literally have relatives that if I were to walk down the street and they walked past me I wouldn’t know them at all.
A lot of people in my family have the name [name]Linda[/name]. Well not a lot a lot but I have 3 aunts named [name]Linda[/name]. Two on my mother’s side (obviously my grandmother didn’t name two daughters [name]Linda[/name]. [name]Just[/name] one and one of my uncles married a [name]Linda[/name]) and another one on my father’s side. [name]Linda[/name] was very popular. I think that is proof of that.
I have an uncle named [name]Cameron[/name] and we call him Carm I don’t know how that nickname came to be. He is a Carm though I can’t imagine calling him [name]Cameron[/name].
I have a great-aunt named [name]Viola[/name].
Other names in my family tree are (I’m going to list first and middle names separately; I’ve noticed there are a lot of repeat names in my family tree. Like [name]Stephen[/name], [name]Edward[/name], [name]Lloyd[/name], Banford, and [name]James[/name] are there multiple times):
[name]Bertha[/name], [name]Madeline[/name], [name]James[/name], [name]Melvin[/name], [name]Melva[/name] (don’t ask), [name]Truman[/name] (I’d probably honor this by using [name]True[/name] as a middle name. I really love [name]True[/name] as a middle name), [name]Irene[/name], [name]Lillian[/name], [name]Raymond[/name], Banford, [name]Lloyd[/name], [name]Stephen[/name], [name]Reginald[/name], [name]Maurice[/name], [name]Mary[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Elias[/name], [name]Myrtle[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Clarence[/name], [name]Julia[/name], [name]Etter[/name], [name]Sherman[/name], [name]Robert[/name], [name]Cyrus[/name], [name]Lemuel[/name], [name]Bernard[/name], [name]Leon[/name], [name]Lenora[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Clifford[/name], Stainer, [name]Cleveland[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Rita[/name], [name]May[/name], [name]Ann[/name], [name]Susan[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Edward[/name], [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Vaughan[/name] (I [name]LOVE[/name] THIS NAME!! Eek! I just found it as a middle name in my family for a girl nonetheless. Ok, I’d use it as a first name or middle name for a boy but still. Exciting nevertheless). [name]Leander[/name] (I love this name so much), [name]Elsie[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name]).
I will list more later because I will list them all and make this post so long no one will want to read it, LOL. I think it is so interesting to look back at your family tree to see the names that they had. Like [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Vaughan[/name] as a first-middle name combination for a girl. I was shocked to find that. Some of the names were popular which I think is to be expected. But then some of the names weren’t and still aren’t popular at all like [name]Leander[/name], I still can’t get over using [name]Vaughan[/name] for a girl and it is the way I like to spell it. LOL, then there was a girl named Labra, names like [name]Almeda[/name], [name]Lavinia[/name], Laveria, Estrom (which was a middle name Idk how to pronounce it), [name]Arminta[/name]. Definitely a mix of popular and names that aren’t/weren’t popular.
