One of my favorite girl’s names has long been [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. I find boys’ names a lot easier than I do girls’, in general, and after a recent period where I thought I might be pregnant (though eventually found out I was not), I’ve been trying to revamp my girls’ list. I love [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], but I don’t think I could ever use it, because when I talked to my mother about names a few weeks ago, after a friend had a baby, she got very upset when I mentioned I liked [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. It’s my step-father’s ex-wife’s name, which means nothing to me as I’ve never met her and he seems to have no ill will towards her. But my mother seemed personally offended that I liked the name and I wouldn’t want to upset her.
Should I eliminate [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] entirely from my list? As I look to revamp my list, does anyone have any suggestions for names I might like that are similar to [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]? [name_f]Cara[/name_f] is my sister’s name and I’m not much of a fan of [name_f]Cora[/name_f] (I think it’s the strong ‘or’ sound in the middle that throws me off liking it?)
Wow, thank you for the suggestions! I really like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I’ve been considering [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for a while, but I hadn’t really considered [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] before and I really like it. Lots of great nickname options, but lovely on it’s own too! Thank you!
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is a derivative of [name_m]Charles[/name_m], so maybe [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], or [name_f]Carla[/name_f]? Other possibilities could be…
