[name]Hi[/name]! I need some help. My husband and I had picked [name]Henry[/name] for our son, but we recently learned that my sister-in-law is naming her son [name]Henry[/name]. [name]Henry[/name] is a coveted family name on her husband’s side so I totally understand. She is being really nice about it, that she could call her son [name]Hank[/name] or something, but I’m not comfortable using the name anymore. Neither is my husband. So we are now on the hunt for names that are like [name]Henry[/name]. Maybe not so popular.
We like [name]Frederick[/name] and [name]Edward[/name], as well as [name]Rhys[/name]. DH also loves [name]Dexter[/name], but its not in the same category imo.
Any other suggestions? Our last name starts with H and ends in man. Thank you in advance. :geek:
What about [name]Harry[/name] (or [name]Harrison[/name])?
[name]Edward[/name] runs the risk these days of looking like a Twilight reference but it’s a lovely name despite that - I love [name]Dexter[/name] and quite like [name]Frederick[/name] (though not [name]Fred[/name] oddly enough).
[name]William[/name] is a lovely traditional name (and [name]Will[/name] is quite a nice nn) and, like [name]Harry[/name] and [name]Henry[/name], also a name from British royalty…
The first name that came to mind for me was [name]Cedric[/name]… don’t know if it’s the style you’re looking for, but I love the nn [name]Ced[/name]. I also second the previous poster’s suggestion of [name]Harry[/name].
Some other ideas:
[name]Hugh[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Bernard[/name]
[name]Harvey[/name] (probably my fave, now I look at it more)
[name]Willem[/name]
and a bit more out there… [name]Quincy[/name].
