So far, S/O and I have discovered we both like pretty gender neutral names for boys: [name_u]Darcy[/name_u], [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], and [name_u]Jamie[/name_u].
What are some more gender neutral names like these, that may be dissipating in popularity for girls?
Love a [name_u]River[/name_u] and [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u]
Rowan is booming for girls in the US and is actually a girls name in some places (for example [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] where it’s in the top 100 charts for girls and rising fast but doesn’t feature in the top 100 boy list whatsoever). I know numerous little babies called [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. The majority girls. It’s very trendy these days unfortunately .
Oh, [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is wonderful, @Greyblue!
@jonquils Thank you!! I so wish S/O would get on board with [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] up front, lol. I do really like [name_u]Avery[/name_u] though!
@MissHenty I’ve never actually met a female [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], but that’s good to know! I only know one [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and he’s about 13-14 now, I think. I can’t find too much on popularity info for my province, as we only count up to the top 20, and it doesn’t appear for either there. I’ll have to have a look at [name_f]Canada[/name_f]’s top 100 though and find out where it sits!! Thank you!
Ah that’s interesting loads of baby [name_m]Roman[/name_m]’s and Rowans round here. Wasn’t surprised to hear they’re the fastest rising names as they’ve come from nowhere so I’d recommend having a look at the growth in the names as well as their current chart position. I noticed for example in the UK that [name_m]Roman[/name_m] climbed hundreds of places in the charts every year and its gone from “0 babies” to being practically top 30. I feel sorry for parents who chose it a couple of years ago thinking it’s quite unusual only for it to then catapult into the top 30. Some people don’t care about popularity though so won’t have minded I’m sure
