I am loving [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] lately. She feels vintage-y but also fresh and spunky to me. She is rare, but easy to say. I think she sounds best with a pretty, more familiar middle name, such as [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], or [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. The only problem is, none of the names on my list seem to “fit” with [name_f]Zetta[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Luella[/name_f], and [name_f]Marina[/name_f], but they don’t have the same qualities that I described [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] as having.
I would love some opinions on [name_f]Zetta[/name_f], and suggestions of names that have the same “feel” as [name_f]Zetta[/name_f], or names that you think would go well with the name. I am most interested in other girls names, but if you happen to think of a boy name that goes particularly well, I would love to hear it! If you like, you can also suggest other middle names that sound nice with [name_f]Zetta[/name_f]. Thanks!

I’m not looking for names to use instead of [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] (I like it by itself!) but rather names that would work well as siblings for [name_f]Zetta[/name_f]. Sorry, maybe that wasn’t clear! I do think [name_f]Vita[/name_f] has the same kind of feel, but maybe too similar?
@emsky - Right?? I hadn’t heard of it before I was searching for a longer form for [name_f]Etta[/name_f], and I was immediately in love. I like [name_f]Lena[/name_f] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and they sound nice with [name_f]Zetta[/name_f], but neither seem quite as “special”. [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] also seems like a perfect fit, but I’ve never loved the name. I’ll think about that one though… [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] might work. And I guess [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] could too. I also kind of love it with [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. Lots of good suggestions! Thank you.
@kala_way - I pronounce it just like [name_f]Etta[/name_f] but with a Z. Your suggestions are very interesting! I hadn’t though of [name_f]Verena[/name_f], I kind of like it. Your suggestion of [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] reminded me of [name_m]Digby[/name_m], which I think would work really well as a brother for a [name_f]Zetta[/name_f]. Thanks!
[name_f]Zetta[/name_f] has such a spunky sound to it.
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f], short for [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], works somehow. [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] and [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] feel antique to me, but not the ladylike girls, iykwim. Those wild, bicycle riding tomboys of the era.
Unfortunately a lot of the names with the same feel for me are very close in sound: [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] doesn’t work with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], [name_f]Zella[/name_f], or [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f], and only barely with [name_f]Izora[/name_f]. I really love [name_f]Izora[/name_f] but nobody’s quite sure where it came from, though it was Social Security ranked in the 19th C. It might be from [name_f]Isidora[/name_f], possibly?
[name_f]Zetta[/name_f] and [name_f]Kezia[/name_f]! [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]… I’m obviously getting stuck on z’s to some extent but it’s a huge part of the quirky charm for me.
[name_f]Zetta[/name_f] and [name_f]Vashti[/name_f]
[name_f]Zetta[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Zetta[/name_f] and [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] - this might be too sweet to pair with [name_f]Zetta[/name_f], not sure.
[name_f]Zetta[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Zetta[/name_f] and Cleome (cleo-mee) - Cleomes are a very quirky flower and it’s never been widely used as a name but for some reason it has a Victorian eccentric impression. [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] & [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] would work too.
@kala_way - [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] is one of those names that in theory, I should like and I would love to see other people use, but I just don’t love it for myself. Weird, I know!
@stripedsocks - [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] is a good fit! What about just [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Millie[/name_f]? [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] has a bit of a nickname feel to it, so I can see it working with some spunky nicknames like that actually. Cleome is interesting, but it isn’t easy to pronounce like [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] is. But another vote for [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]! I can definitely see [name_f]Zetta[/name_f] & [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] working together.
