I’ve seen threads in the past where people visually describe or provide pictures based on the previous poster’s name suggestion, but I have yet to see a similar thing for the more auditory types among us, so I thought I’d start it myself. Basically one person suggests a name (can be a single name or combo) and the next person gives a song or piece of music the name reminds them of (can be a song that features the name in the lyrics, a piece that goes with the vibe of the name, or whatever)!
Wow, all of those songs are amazing, thank you!! I’ve never heard of “The [name_m]Night[/name_m] We Met” but you’re right, it totally suits the name

[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] is a devastating beauty. My mind immediately goes to one of those portraits of silent film stars who are always looking away from the camera.
Bohemian always makes me think of Moulin Rouge!, but none of the songs in the movie really fit the name for me. But, I know it was partially based on the myth of [name_m]Orpheus[/name_m] and [name_f]Eurydice[/name_f], and Offenbach’s “[name_m]Orpheus[/name_m] in the Underworld Overture” actually suits the name really well. It’s light and spring-like, but also becomes bolder as the song goes on, and has such a fun, over-the-top ending, which makes me think of [name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]'s dewy, whimsical vibe.
Or, to fit the vintage, bittersweet tone I initially got, I like “Hymne à L’amour” by Édith [name_f]Piaf[/name_f] for this name.

To give more context to [name_m]Ishmael[/name_m] [name_u]Curran[/name_u] [name_m]Milo[/name_m]: my first instinct for [name_m]Ishmael[/name_m] was [name_m]Moby[/name_m] [name_m]Dick[/name_m], and I became stuck on the colour blue (plus, names that start with C almost always seem blue to me). [name_u]Bobby[/name_u] [name_u]Darin[/name_u]'s “Beyond the Sea” was stuck in my head, but it didn’t totally fit the name for me. I wanted something cooler and more modern. Then, “Pale [name_u]Blue[/name_u] Eyes” came up on a playlist I was listening to, and it just clicked for me. There’s the blue association, but also the calm, easy-going backing instrumental suited the tone of the name. [name_m]Ishmael[/name_m] [name_u]Curran[/name_u] [name_m]Milo[/name_m] is cool, poised, and distinctive.
For the record, “Pale [name_u]Blue[/name_u] Eyes” is one of my very favourite songs! At first I was surprised to see that as the song you gave, but then once I thought about it, I completely got it, for many of the same reasons you listed here.
[name_f]Shasta[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]: I get a very late-summer-to-early-fall, adventuresome, spunky vibe from this combo. It’s free, lively, positive, but with just a bit of an edge. Two pieces immediately come to mind, which I’ve linked below:
I always go back to colours, and [name_f]Nadine[/name_f] [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] [name_f]Alma[/name_f] gives me an orchid or rich magenta vibe. I picture her as being artistic, daring, and independent. I like “Coming Down” by Dum Dum Girls for this name, because it’s so powerful (I love the cymbals), yet has a bit of a dreamy feeling. It’s a bit somber though, and I don’t mean to pin that on this name, because I picture it being suited for a warm person. Maybe “[name_m]King[/name_m] and Lionheart” by Of Monsters and Men, to evoke the independent, creative energy I get from this name. Plus, I get the same magenta association from this song that I get from [name_f]Nadine[/name_f] [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] [name_f]Alma[/name_f].
[name_f]Aisling[/name_f] [name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Endellion[/name_f] reminds me so much of water, yet it also has a fiery feel to me. Is it weird that my first thought was the song from the opening credits of “[name_m]Hannibal[/name_m]”? I also thought of Following the [name_u]River[/name_u] - The Rolling Stones
The first song that came to mind is ‘[name_u]Clair[/name_u] De [name_f]Lune[/name_f]’ by Debussy. Whenever I see ‘[name_f]Sybil[/name_f]’ I always read it in a [name_m]French[/name_m] accent and I think I link the strong ‘S’ also with the strong ‘S’ in Debussy.
To me, [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] is a serious, [name_m]French[/name_m] sounding name and [name_u]Clair[/name_u] de [name_f]Lune[/name_f] is also both of those things (in my opinion).
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] I do not immediately associate with a sound so much as the colour of burnt orange.
This name as a whole makes me think of a light, airy ballet studio somewhere inner city <3
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] makes me thing of sugary-sweet 50s love songs, such as “[name_f]Sugar[/name_f] [name_f]Sugar[/name_f]” by the Archies. I’m so sorry, it’s just what popped into my head! I know it’s really random.
[name_f]Oona[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] has such a magical feel to me, and she brings to mind “The Mystic’s [name_u]Dream[/name_u]” by Loreena McKennitt.
“A painting hangs on an ivy wall
Nestled in the emerald moss”
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is a bright but cool classic name. it reminds me of I Can See Clearly Now - [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] [name_m]Nash[/name_m]

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] (and if you want to do two, [name_f]Yoli[/name_f] [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f])
The first name that popped up in my head was “[name_u]December[/name_u], 1963 (Oh What a [name_m]Night[/name_m])” by the Four Seasons. Obviously because [name_u]December[/name_u] is in the title, but the more I think about it, I think it suits the name. It’s light and fun, like [name_u]December[/name_u] [name_m]Nash[/name_m] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]. I can picture someone with that name being an easy-going, happy, sociable person.
Another option could be “The Hockey Song” by Stompin’ [name_m]Tom[/name_m] Connors. [name_u]December[/name_u] reminds me of winter, [name_m]Nash[/name_m] sounds like it could be the name of a hockey player (or an athlete, in general), and [name_u]Lane[/name_u] has a folksy, down-to-earth vibe.
‘[name_f]Vita[/name_f]’ gives me classy-but-dramatic vibes, whilst ‘[name_f]Nicole[/name_f]’ is more modern and relatable. A song it makes me think of is ‘I Must Confess’ by Everything But The Girl.
This name plays with light and shadow in my mind, and it’s delicate but sure of itself. Brings to mind the music of [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_m]Bush[/name_m], maybe “Under the [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]” in particular.
[name_m]Feel[/name_m]-good, charismatic, confident. I feel like something from the 1950s would suit this name. Either a warm soothing ballad like “Sea of [name_u]Love[/name_u]” by [name_u]Phil[/name_u] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m], or something more grounded like “I Walk the [name_f]Line[/name_f]” by [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] [name_m]Cash[/name_m].
I think “I Can’t Stop Loving You” by [name_m]Don[/name_m] [name_m]Gibson[/name_m] is nice middle-ground. [name_f]Happy[/name_f], romantic, down-to-earth, and classic.
[name_m]Baz[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]?
(also, I really love all of the song in this thread, and I’m so happy it’s still going)
