Names my 9-year-old(boy) cousin thought up

As the title says, here they are! [name_f]My[/name_f] dear cousin [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] is a huge name nerd(I’m so PROUD). To make matters more awesome, [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] is a 9-year old boy-his love for names morphed after meeting a boy named [name_m]Griffith[/name_m] in his grade. Most names only have 1 middle, but a few have 2. There are also some he made up, so be warned. He also couldn’t decide on an order for some. [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] is very creative, and really just like the sound of most. He didn’t really care for “femininity” or “masculinity”. I asked him to do this after another berry posted a thread about names her sister(I think; correct me if I’m wrong) thought up, and he naturally agreed.

[name_f]Ashira[/name_f] [name_u]Keegan[/name_u]
[name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
Ferelith [name_u]Jo[/name_u]

[name_u]Marsh[/name_u] [name_f]Pallas[/name_f]/[name_f]Pallas[/name_f] [name_u]Marsh[/name_u]
[name_u]Gardener[/name_u] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Allaire[/name_f] Song

So, that’s that! Oh, and, any writer berries, feel free to use these in your stories-obviously, you can mix and match. The only one you can’t use is Loveshaw [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m] [name_m]Hart[/name_m], as [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] made that specifically for one of my characters. Honest opinions are wanted-and don’t worry about offending him, as he is aware that he probably isn’t very good at good flow(like me, he only recently got addicted to names). What do you think?

Loveshaw is great! I would definitely use that as a mn or fn for a book character. He has a great style…

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites:
[name_f]Pallas[/name_f] [name_u]Marsh[/name_u]- [name_f]Pallas[/name_f] is great. I prefer [name_f]Pallas[/name_f] [name_u]March[/name_u], just because there are some awful marshes near where I live, but it is still a great combo.

[name_u]Gardener[/name_u] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]- (I have [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Gardener[/name_u] on my list. It is a lovely name. [name_u]Gardener[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] has a better flow, due to the fact there is no epiphora with the repetition of the ‘er / uh’ sound, but it is still stunning. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is too beautiful to leave out.)

Ferelith [name_u]Jo[/name_u]- (I too have Ferelith on my list, with Ferelith [name_f]Fern[/name_f], Ferelith [name_u]Frost[/name_u] and Ferelith [name_u]Dove[/name_u], Ferelith [name_f]Snow[/name_f] and Ferelith [name_f]Sen[/name_f]. [name_u]Jo[/name_u] and Ferelith are quite different: [name_u]Jo[/name_u] is quite an earthy, spunky name, whereas Ferelith is more wispy and ethereal, but they are both lovely names, and [name_u]Jo[/name_u] grounds Ferelith.)

[name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]- Very spunky. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite variation of this is [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] [name_f]Fae[/name_f].

Loveshaw [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m] [name_m]Hart[/name_m]- This is great, especially for a book character.

[name_u]Auberon[/name_u] [name_m]King[/name_m]- [name_m]King[/name_m] is very fitting for [name_u]Auberon[/name_u], considering he was king of the fairies. I love the [name_u]Auberon[/name_u] spelling, and the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] reference.

[name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_m]Vero[/name_m]- I prefer [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_u]Dove[/name_u], but this is great.

[name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_m]Pascal[/name_m]- I love [name_u]Eden[/name_u] on a boy.

Kohaku [name_u]Ray[/name_u]- I have a soft spot for Japanese names. Kohaku [name_u]Ren[/name_u] or Kohaku [name_f]Sen[/name_f] would be nice if you wanted to continue the Japanese theme, though Kohaku [name_u]Ray[/name_u] is lovely.

[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_m]Halloran[/name_m]- This would make a great name for a novel character.

I love his style!

Oh, [name_m]Joel[/name_m] [name_u]Bay[/name_u] made my heart skip a beat! So lovely. [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_m]Pascal[/name_m] is a great one too.

Thank you both for replying!

@nooshi, I get what you mean by the marshes-[name_u]Tyler[/name_u] doesn’t like the word march, though:p [name_u]Auberon[/name_u] is my favorite spelling, too. [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is “unusually normal”, as [name_m]Ty[/name_m] put’s it; a strange first grounded down with a familiar and spunky middle, like Ferelith [name_u]Jo[/name_u]. [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] [name_f]Fae[/name_f] is gorgeous, though. [name_m]Ty[/name_m] has read and watched The Great [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m] so many times, it’s a little hard to process. [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] DiCaprio is now his favorite actor lol. [name_u]Eden[/name_u] has always been his favorite word, so when he learned it was a legitimate name, he jumped at the opportunity. [name_u]Echo[/name_u] actually would make a nice novel character-good job!

@livia, [name_m]Joel[/name_m] Bay IS absolutely lovely, isn’t it?:slight_smile:

Your cousin has a great style! I particularly like [name_u]Auberon[/name_u] [name_m]King[/name_m] and [name_f]Allaire[/name_f] Song. Wonderful!

Haha, thank you. [name_u]Auberon[/name_u] [name_m]King[/name_m] and [name_f]Allaire[/name_f] Song are two of my personal favorites.

I’m sorry, a nine year old composed these…? raises eyebrows

This kid better grow up, meet someone and then have some babies so he can bestow them all with names like these ones.

They seem pretty advanced for a child at the age of 9, but I particularly like [name_m]Joel[/name_m] [name_u]Bay[/name_u], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] and [name_m]Llewellyn[/name_m] [name_m]Beau[/name_m]. I have to say, I am pretty shocked he knew how to pronounce [name_m]Llewellyn[/name_m]! I think my twelve year old cousin, [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] thinks that [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] are cute names, and he turns his nose up at [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] and [name_u]Addison[/name_u], that’s about it though.

Edit: Just saw this - what does your mum being a nurse have to do with anything? No offence, I’m just confused as to why you mention it in every post, as it doesn’t seem relevant? I don’t post about being the daughter of a truck driver and clothing store worker whenever I post something

I know, it’s surprising. Like I said, [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] is rather creative, and a lot of these are actually clever ways to honor family members. Example: I have an Uncle [name_m]Leopold[/name_m], so [name_m]Leo[/name_m] turned into [name_m]Llew[/name_m], and there’s another cousin named [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], which is where [name_m]Tor[/name_m] comes. [name_u]Shaw[/name_u] in from [name_m]Ty[/name_m]'s older brother [name_u]Shawn[/name_u]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] comes from after he read a book with a character named Lovelace(I think it’s called Ninja Librarians). Beaurex is a nod to two of his deceased dogs, [name_u]Bo[/name_u] and [name_u]Rex[/name_u](but he used [name_m]Beau[/name_m] because he thought it looked better with [name_u]Rex[/name_u]). And he pretty much scourged to whole website looking for “cool” names. Plus, some of these, like [name_m]Eero[/name_m] [name_m]Kafka[/name_m] and [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], come from lists of names I keep that he mixed and matched. [name_m]Ty[/name_m] really just picked ones he thought looked and sounded nice. [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] reads a lot, like me, and his favorite genre is fantasy, so there made up languages in a large number of books he reads. Like I said before, it’s surprising. I myself am still a little baffled. When I first asked him, I was half-joking; I didn’t completely expect him to say yes. Plus, as my mom is an RN, [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] matured faster than most kids, since he occasionally helps out at the hospital. All in all, [name_m]Ty[/name_m] is a smart and creative kid that most likely has a future in the arts. @lawsonhaley, really sorry! Forgot to mention you in the title! It took him a bit to figure out how to pronounce some, but he eventually got it. And your cousin Ryan accepts Chloe, but turns down Neveah? Huh.
@mykaylalove, I forgot to mention you in the title too! I’m sorry! And I told he needs to have kids someday and give them awesome names, so don’t you worry about that.

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] are on totally different wavelengths…[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is botanical, [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] is heaven backwards (which, technically, anything angelic backwards becomes satanic, so it’s actually calling your child hell). Not to mention, [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] has historic use.

Oh, I wasn’t aware that anything angelic backwards becomes satanic-thank you for letting me know that. I kind of forgot that [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] has history-it’s rather common in [name_u]America[/name_u], so it feels modern. I guess I kinda grouped [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Neveah[/name_f] together; pretty but a little over done.

Yeah, heaven backwards = opposite of heaven = hell. angelic backwards = opposite of angelic = satanic. That’s how I was brought up anyways. [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] actually dates back to Greek mythology, and was used by [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] in one of her novels (though I’m not sure which one). [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] was made up by a singer/musician in the 2000s.

@lawsonhaley, ah, okay. I always thought [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] had a sort of Greek undertone…and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u], one of my favorite authors, used it? I’ll have to do some research! And I didn’t know [name_f]Neveah[/name_f] was made by musicians in the 2000s, so thank you for informing me of that.
