I’m working on an idea for a book series that takes place in the future. It’s more sci-fi than fantasy and there is dystopian theme to it. There are people with powers in it but not vampires, more like mutants.
These are the main group of characters that I’ve come up with:

Beckminster (Becks) (it’s supposed to be a pun on Becks, the alcohol, and [name]Buckminster[/name] a sort of stiff name)

Please tell what you think about them, preferably:

Pronunciation?
Impression (i.e. adjective or tone)?
Does it fit with the others?

Phoenyx ([name]Nyx[/name]): Girl; prn like “[name]Phoenix[/name]”, fits well
[name]Shaka[/name]: I don’t know…reminds be of [name]Shakira[/name] and [name]Shaq[/name], so it doesn’t really work out.
Camus (goes by [name]Milo[/name] after his “death”): Boy; prn “[name]KAY[/name]-muhs”; Camus works, but [name]Milo[/name] doesn’t fit
[name]Arella[/name]: Girl, prn “uh-RELL-uh”, works well
[name]Axel[/name]: Boy; prn like it looks, seems to fit
[name]Kala[/name]: Girl; prn not sure if its like “[name]Calla[/name]” or “[name]Kayla[/name]”
[name]Riya[/name]: Girl; prn “[name]REE[/name]-uh”, works
[name]Zain[/name]: Boy; prn like its spelled, works
[name]Tate[/name]: Boy; prn like spelled, stands out a little bit to me
[name]Frost[/name]: Could be boy or girl and woul be fine; fits in well
[name]Blake[/name]: Boy; its a bit more normal than the rest of the names
Pellinore: Girl, prn like “[name]Eleanor[/name]”?, works pretty well
[name]Magnus[/name]: Boy; prn “[name]MAG[/name]-nuhs”, works very well
[name]Althea[/name]: Girl; prn “al-THEE-uh”, works great
Beckminster (Becks): “Becks” seems girl, but “mister” seems boy; fits in
[name]Helio[/name]: Boy; “HEE-lee-oh”, stands out a bit to me
[name]Njord[/name]: Looks like boy, no idea for pronounciation
[name]Verity[/name]: Girl; “VEHR-it-tee”, goes well with others

[name]Shaka[/name]: is male and is named after [name]Shaka[/name] Zulu, who was the most influential leader of the Zulu Kingdom in [name]Africa[/name]
Camus/[name]Milo[/name]: I couldn’t decide which name I liked more but was leaning towards [name]Milo[/name] because Becks, Phoenyx and Camus are mentioned together often. I wasn’t sure if the s endings are too repetitive.
[name]Kala[/name]: prn [name]Calla[/name] is also male but I sort of want it to have a feminine ring because he is homosexual but also one of the most intimidating characters.
Beckminster: is male as well
[name]Helio[/name]: I wanted to be pronounced AY-lee-oh, the Spanish way
[name]Njord[/name]: is a boy and prn NEE-yord like fjord
Blake: is actually a female
